bootloader: lock or unlock? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I´ve bought z3compact (few days ago) - but I dont know device history.
Is there a way, how to check that bootloader is locked or unlocked?
Reason: picture qualitty is terrible, but i dont know why (lost dmr key?)
os: marchmallow 6.0.1 / fw .291
Is there a way for better photo qualitty?
thank you

In the phone dialer type *#*#service#*#* and go to the services tests -> security menu. You will see 9 lines starting with MARLIN. If you find [OK][ACTIVE] behind the lines, your bootloader is locked. If you read [UNKNOWN] it is unlocked.

[Q] Simlock with GingerDX and nAa??

Hello!
Have GingerDX with nAa running. Now changed from pre-paid Vodafone to KPN. But it does not work. Is the phone SIM-locked maybe? And how do I remove it?
Thanks
Now contacted Vodafone since their SIMunlock webform on their webpage did not work.
They told me that it is strange since Vodafone EIMI start not with 01268500xxxx. The thought is must be from another provider. They were going to try to unlock it anyway.
Strange.
With s1tool I get:
RUNNING S1_EROM VER "r8A029"
SOFTWARE AID: 0001
LOADER AID: 0001
FLASH ID: "002C/00BC"
LOADER VERSION: "R4A045"

IF THE HIGHLIGHTED R IS SMALL LETTER(r), YOUR BOOTLOADER IS ALREADY UNLOCKED.
So my phone is unlocked! But how do I check and remove my SIMLOCK?
Found this threat. May the tool can help. Plasma S Tool.

But for me the instruction does not work.
Menu => Back => Back => Menu => Back => Menu => Menu =>Back (If this doesn’t work, dial: *#*#7378423#*#* )
I guess I have first to install original ROM back onto phone and then only I can access all this.
Anybody a reply?? Any suggestions are welcome!
Finally got the unlock code from Vodafone today. But where do I enter it?
*#*#4636#*#* Phone info on
How to check the counter state on X10 etc..
Switch ON your phone without a SIM Card,
Lock the screen and the phone will ask you to do the unlock move,
Press sequences: Menu, Back, Back, Menu,Back,Menu, Menu, Back (in Mini models the menu button can be marked as a single larger square),
Select Service info,
Select SimLock,
If you see an X in the bracket [X] this means that lock is active
If do not see an x and you see [] this means that lock is not active
Check the number of attempts on your active lock
If it is higher than 0 then you can enter the code ok.
If it is 0 (like the image below) this means you cannot enter a code, so do not order one

When i relock my bootloader my warranty no longer shows and camera does not work. Any fix? When I unlock it again the warranty shows and camera works. It also ask for Android password when I relock and I have tried every possible password and it won't work so I'm forced to wipe user data to get in the device after relocks.
If I can't relock my bootloader is there a way to get rid of that message "your device has been unlocked, and can't be trusted" during boot up! I've seen someone else on a LG g4 flash the img and it removed it but I can't find the Sony splash screen img file with root access.
When I relocked my bootloader I got an update for June security patch. Updated and unlocked bootloader again. Is there a way to get updates without relocking the bootloader?
Last question. Does anyone else notice the rear camera no longer takes good low light photos but the front does?
Wait, youre on Rogers and rooted?! How? Mine always says boot loader unlock allowed no

You have lost your drm keys.. No turning back, this was also mentioned in the unlock guide / proces.
As there is no way of making backup of the drm keys atm, you should have not unlocked or waited.
Better stick with the unlocked bl.

xperia z1 c6903 cant unlock bootloader

good afternoon, I have a problem with my xperia z1 c6903 when unlocking the bootloader I get a message that says your phone can not be officially unlocked that I should thank.
Apparently Sony has blocked the ability to unlock the bootloader on certain devices.
This is most likely the case if you got your phone from your carrier. Do you have a branded Z1?
You can also look up if this is the case by doing the following:
1. Open dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Go to Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status.
3. "Bootloader unlock allowed" should say Yes
If it doesn't, then at least the official way of unlocking your device won't work.
Any "not official" way to unlock the bootloader? Mine is locked too and i want to install something new in that old one. Thanks in advance.
Mine says not posible but i read somewere that can be done
That's the thing, is an old smartphone today, i don't understand why only certains models can be unlocked. Now im on last oficial os (5.1.1). I get it root but i cant unlock the bootloader in any way.

Unlock bootloader allowed from NO to YES after waranty end

Hi i just had the strangest experience and i would like to know if it possible such thing.
I had a contract Z5C to Vodafone 2 years ago. In this time every-time i accessed the service menu i had a network lock and option Boot-loader unlock allowed to NO and adb unlock command would allways fail.
I went to a Sony store last year and they said that after i network unlock it, the option will become YES (for boot-loader).
Now the fun stuff :
I finally got from Vodafone the unlock code but big surprise : My phone is already network unlocked and the Boot-loader unlock allowed is YES, so at this point the code received from Vodafone is useless.
The only thing i can think of is that it automatically unlocked at the end of the warranty (expired on 26 last month). So is this possible? to automatically network unlock after warranty end?
P.S.: This evening, once i`m home, i will try again to unlock the boot-loader (i already backed up the DRM keys by downgrading using yoviroot last year).

Rooted but cant Unlock Bootloader? (Xperia E1 D2004)

i got this from a friend in Canada (i live in the states) was surprised i was able to get the SIM Unlock code but not sure how much more usefull past end of 2019 actuall cell service will be on this as 3G is shutting down by providers in my area by Jan 1st 2021). I Managed to root it Easily (Towelroot/Kingoroot)but notice theres custom roms avilable for this aging phone./ ( wouldnt even use this for everyday use, i have a galaxy A20 as my daily driver as it were,)
Going thru the Service menu, and looking at options it does sadly show the bootloader is in an "No" state for unlocking. Is there a means to force this so i can flash TWRP&LineageOS?
You can unlock bootloader only using fastboot and unlock code. To get unlock code visit
