NEVER EVER ASK THIS QUESTION!! This is a very subjective question. It differs from person to person. It takes a lot of time/energy/efforts to build a custom ROM and asking this question is a very big insult to the makers of these ROMs! Try out different ROMs and choose what you like.

Kindly refer the FAQ section for this forum. If you've already read this, then it's unfair on your part to post such a question. If you haven't, please do read the FAQs/forum guidelines before posting in any forum. People have spent valuable time listing out basic guidelines for us to follow. The least we could do is to abide by them.

It's a difficult question to answer. Let me explain it to you with an example; I personally prefer AOSP or near AOSP type ROMs. Working of custom kernel features isn't a must for me hence am using Stryder's AOSP build. Someone else might need this features hence may opt for Tesla ROM. It doesn't mean AOSP is more stable than Tesla or vice-versa. Each ROM has its own set of issues.
The way I use to limit my choices is by looking at ROM features, reading through the thread looking at bugs, change log, etc. Then trying out the ROM which is best suited for my needs. You could have your own way to tackle this issue. But asking people on a forum makes you susceptible to others prejudices instead of you forming your own opinion. This according to me is another reason why questions like yours is frowned upon.
If you want the latest features, you'll need to have to put in more time and effort into it. No pain, no gain. Form your own opinion don't depend on other's opinion for something that you need to use on your phone.
Edit: Sorry for coming across as a patronizing jerk, but seemed like explaining this way, you'll get some perspective to what am trying to convey. Hope this helps.

[Q] Which is the best rom for the cappy?

I'm starting this post as a guide for people trying new roms, I thought of asking which rom are you using right now, but that would be a popularity contest.
I've been an android user for a while, but I'm new with the cappy, as a new owner, I didn't know which rom is the best rom around, so far I've tried at least 5 (firefly, darky, apex, stock 2.1, stock 2.2) But I don't wanna say which one I'm using right now cause I don't wanna influence the results of this post.
So, I'm Gonna post all roms I've see and ask the users what you think, please, after voting, talk about your experiences with the roms you've been using, I feel this could help choosing a rom for every new owner.
If I'm leaving a rom out, please let me know and I'll post it.
If you are a developer and you don't wanna see your rom here, please let me know via PM it and I'll remove it.
Alright, I've tried to edit the poll but as it turns out, only moderators can edit polls, so, please, I'll try to contact a moderator to include other roms in the poll, but I don't wanna bug a moderator for every single rom, so, If you guys be so kind, which other roms would you like to see here?
So far I only have one suggestion from xhozt to add victory, I would like to add at least other 5 roms. Suggestions?
This is a bad idea. First off its a matter of opinion and secondly all the dev work hard on their roms, how is it fair to say one is better than the other?

Yes, as choosing a phone its a matter of opinion, and yes, not all roms work the same and they don't have the same performance, are you implying cause they are working hard on their roms they shouldn't be rated?
What you are saying its like saying movies shouldn't be rated cause people work on them.
We should have an honest poll an opinion for guidence, this shouldn't mean we are disregarding other people works, I support all developers, but as a person, I believe some roms I've tried are better than others. The posts I've seen have not helped me making a decision on a particular rom, so far all have been trial an error. Not every rom is perfect, but some are better than others.
On a final note, Its just a poll, I'm just asking people around, if this polls were more extensive, I would ask more questions as memory managment, multitasking performace, etc. But I can only ask one question.
Lol thats different. We are talking about community dev's spending their part time working on projects. Don't know you shouldn't compare or rate.

Sure thing buddy, I'm trying to edit the poll but I cant find where is that option
It is a bad idea only because it has been tried before and failed. Best rom threads are locked because every user has differences in what they like, as well as how their phone reacts to the rom. A search next time could show how many of these threads, including the last rom poll are locked.
Just so you know, you can't edit the poll once it has been created.

I still believe work can be rated, but I'm not rating individual works, Im asking for people's opinion, if a developer has something to say about it, and want their rom removed, I would gladly remove it. I won't do it cause you don't think is right, this is a free site last time a checked.
Another one of these??
No thanks. Closed.

No point in having this thread. Every rom has its rights and user. You can try and find out yourself. There are only handful of ROMs. Important thing is still 4.2.1 is not that ready yet. If you want, try OFFICIAL NIGHTLIES FROM CM10.1 or Asylum(cm10.1) or Stunner 2.0(AOKP) which I have used before. I might have missed out some here but never tried them. My choice would be a Stunner... . Please feel free to try them and find out yourself rather than somebody suggesting you to. After all they are here to download and try. Good luck.

First, wrong section.. You are asking questions so this should be in the q&a
Second, that's very subjetive questions.. The rom that has it all and it's the best thing that ever happened in my life... Could be the worst piece of crap for you.. So go find out by yourself
Tapatalking on my n7000
C'mon guys, can we show a bit more love here?
I don't think this should be in Q&A, as it's a question that's meant to generate discussion and comment. It could easily have been rephrased as - "Comparisons between 4.2.1 ROMS". It doesn't have a question mark at the end, so now it's OK even though it would be discussing the same thing? Or it could have been a "POLL: Best 4.2.1 ROM", and it'd be ok?
And yes, we can tell people to go try all the ROMs out there, but what's the harm in someone asking for other users comments on their experiences? Afterall, isn't this meant to be a place of discussion? I've found it enormously useful to have discussions like the OP is asking for, and it'd be a shame that these discussions don't take place anymore.
To try to contribute to the OP's question - I've used Asylum and have loved it. It has saved my Note. Had been very frustrated with the lag that came with the TW ROMs but now it's brought my Note back to life again. I've been wanting to try Stunner, and based on Galaxtus' comment that he prefers Stunner the most, I will give that ROM a try too. (So thank you, Galaxtus for that very helpful comment!).
official CM 10.1 of course.

[Q] Best ROM for travel (battery life, stability)

Hi,
I'm glad to join the Xperia Z club! I've just bought mine today and was wondering what your favorite ROM's are for traveling.
My first priority is battery life. The other is stability, meaning that the speed won't deteriorate with time. I've had this issue with many ROM's in the past.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
Thanks.
Stock, and these threads are annoying. Go to the dev section and read the user comments and decide yourself.

stability, any of the stock based roms
like KA07, RomAur, turdzrom etc
AOSP roms at this stage have bugs and aren't fully stable yet.

So helpfull answer
A community is to share expériences ... Basic notion of Communication, discussion and collaboration...
By answering such thing YOU did not participate actively and collaboratively to the sucess of XDA.
For the OP, I agree with others (collaborative user's answers) --> Stock is more secure when traveling and not having all means to recover with you.

honestly if you tire of responding to these thread then dont do it, no one force you to go in his thread and answer it. Get a life, get up from the computer/phone you dont have to sit there and respond to everything, dont blame user for trying to educate themselves by asking questions. it's not like he ask a question in the wrong section either. bottom line YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO RESPOND OR NOT.

Do People still say things like "get a life", I guess so if you're of a certain mentality. Again, I actually answered the question, so if you or any one else doesn't like my opinion, tough. Let's see how you feel after you've answered your 10th "best rom" type thread, you'll soon tire of them, which is why is best not to encourage them.

best N7000 rom

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a nice stable KitKat rom. In testing asylum right now. I really like the dark interface. Looks pretty nice on amoled. I have some wlan and camera probs though.
The original omni and slimkat seem to be good choices, too.
I want a fully working nice rom asap and not test for days or weeks. Unfortunately I have other stuff to do
Can someone give me some pros and cons of those or other roms, pls? Which one delivers the most stable build atm.
Thanks a lot

If you read the rules and have browsed a few of the headlines you should already know that BEST is not allowed and in violation of the rules. Try them yourself!

Unless stated otherwise, each Rom will have their full description in the OP including known bugs. Of course individual hardware condition also play a part in generating issues. The best solution is to always do a full, clean flash whenever flashing a new rom.
And to answer your enquiry, all developers who cooked the roms have made the roms in accordance to survey, latest updates, and mostly from personal preference so again what might be an issue to you might not be to many others. As a weekly flasher, the best way to know how good a rom is of course to try it ourselves, it's all the fun of flashing cusrom about.

I think everyone already stated the reasons why this thread is being closed
The BEST ROM is the one that works BEST for YOU. Read the ROM threads...it is full of members who think THAT ROM is the best.
You need to find out what works best for you, your phone/apps/usage/signal/setup.

advice requested

Hi, i hate the phisical slider on the oneplus 3. If I understood well, the only way to disable it is by installing a new rom. BUT I want maximum battery life, stability and easy updates.. Can you help me choose the best rom?
I'd say LineageOS is a safe choice
Sultan's LOS is the best so far

Battery life and stability are totally subjective. They will vary greatly from one user to another (on the same ROM) due to a number of variables. You can start with some recommendations. But you may find you don't agree with the advice in the end. Take a look at what ROM features appeal the most to you, and just flash it.
As far as updating, all the ROMs are easy to update. You just flash it like you did to begin with (for that ROM). Dirty flash (not wiping user data) is often possible, depending on what in the ROM was updated (always be prepared to clean wipe if needed). If you are looking for ROMs with OTA updates, that is a different story. But you didn't ask for that specifically.

Then just look for the feature in the ROM descriptions. You are' asking strangers to do the research or make decisions that you should do yourself.

You have absolutely no reason to be rude to someone who speaks truth. Everyone have different usage patterns, needs and while for one a specific ROM can work wonders, for the other may work like $hit.
If you don't have time to test, then you probably shouldn't be doing this at all. We, as a long time xda members are just fed up with these type of questions, because people don't (or don't want to) understand that no one can fit fully ones' needs.
If you want to know, what's the other people experiences with a specific ROM, why don't just look up the official thread and read their posts?

Point out how my reply was "rude" as in offensive, insulting, name-calling, or a personal attack. You won't find any. It was all factual, and actually pretty good advice.
Folks often like to resort to calling someone "rude" or "insulting", when they have simply been informed of a simple fact they don't want to accept.
Also, take note that there are already plenty of ROM recommendation threads. You failed to do a simple search, otherwise you could have read plenty of recommendations from those existing threads. It clutters up the forum when every person why want a ROM recommendation makes a new thread, instead of just utilizing one (of the many) existing threads.
I believe the forum is more cluttered by your answers than anything else. If I did something wrong, there are the mods ready to delete posts and threads. Are you a mod?
