With the manufacturing process tends to be mature, more and more S7 edge glass protectors come to the market in different quality standard and features, customers could have more choices to give their beloved devices a good protection. As an ordinary consumer, how can we distinguish from various glass protectors in market? Or we have to spend dozens of dollars to test and throw it away? If I’m a shop owner, how can I find a qualified supplier to supply me good quality glass protectors? Here we have done a test on all the S7 Edge glass protectors you may have seen or purchased before

From the left to right,
A= silk print white, B=silk print black, C=silk print golden, D= silk print translucence, E=original electroplating blue, F=electroplating black
The annual flagship S7 Edge comes with 4-side curved display, this unique display requires the glass protector should be with the same shape. From above photo we may not find any difference, but why price differs a lot? Our test will be based on the following factors that can affect user’s experience.
1. Oleophobic Coating
This coating will help to reduce the fingerprint on the glass protectors and make the touch as smooth as the screen should be. Normally, there are 2 ways to spray this coating on glass protector surface, vacuum plasma spraying and manual spraying. The easiest way to test the coating quality is to drop some water on the glass surface and move around. And the test result is as the following,
A=silk print white
B= silk print black
C= silk print golden
D= silk print translucence
E= original electroplating blue
F= electroplating black
Due to the surface tension, if the coating is well-proportioned and compact, the water should be as round as possible.
from above photos, we could see the glass # A/E/F has better coating test result.
2. Fit
This is the most important factor which will decide if the glass protector can fit the screen well and provide customers with good experience. And we will check the sensor/camera hole, menu/back button backlight, touch function. Each part will get 5 star if performs well, let’s see how it goes.
#A
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★
Not in the centre
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★
The back button not fit well
Touch function: ★★
No response to touch sometimes. Click-click sound happens when press the glass and phone, glass can not fit the screen well.
#B
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★★
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★★★
The back button not fit well
Touch function: ★★
No response to touch sometimes. Click-click sound happens when press the glass and phone, glass can not fit the screen well. Besides, this black glass is with glitter, not pure black color.
#C
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★★
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★
The back button not fit well
Touch function: ★★
No response to touch sometimes. Click-click sound happens when press the glass and phone, glass can not fit the screen well, especially on the upper left corner.
#D
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★★
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★★★
Touch function: ★★
No response to touch sometimes. Click-click sound happens when press the glass and phone, glass can not fit the screen well.
Obviously, we have found some cosmetic issues on the translucence glass. The glue under the glass is not even and due to the translucence color, this disadvantage has been enlarged.
#E
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★★
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★★
Touch function: ★★★★★
Problem for this glass is that the screen display will have some colorful reflect light, please check below details.
#F
Sensor/camera hole: ★★★★
Menu/back button backlight: ★★★★
Touch function: ★★★★★
All is good but same problem with #F
By checking above factors, we could see that there is no 100% perfect glass protectors. We need to ask ourselves why we need a glass protector? I may answer you, 1[sup]st[/sup] to protector my screen, it must fit well and function well. 2[sup]nd[/sup] to make my phone stand out. If you are with the same above 2 ideas, then we will recommend you glass #E original electroplating and #F electroplating black.

Please help me. I am tired of trying so many different screen protectors and none of them seem to fit the HD2 perfectly.
I've tried many about 3 sellers from ebay and even the invisibleshield screen protectors.
I cannot seem to find one that is perfectly aligned to the HD2's screen from top to bottom and side to side.
Here the invisible shield screen protector. Look how badly it aligns around the speaker and from side-to-side!

Can someone please recommend me a perfectly aligned screen protector!
I don't care if it's glossy or matted. Just as long as it is perfectly aligned, sticks very well and high quality and NOT cheapy!
Thank you so much guys.
And if you can please take a picture of your recommended ones...That's be great!
the alignment around the speaker is done with a purpose. this cutout in the screenprotector makes sure the lightsensor and proximity sensor are not blocked.
if it fits tight around the speaker hole the proximity switch isnot working anymore. this sensor is controlling the switching on and off of the screen in a call. when the screen protector covers this sensor this means the screen goes and stays dark when making a call and when you remove the phone from your ear the screen will not light up. so you will not be able to control the phone by the screen.
i had a screen protector where it had a hole for this sensor but was not properly aligned so had the same effect and i had to cut it the way yours looks to getit working again

there is already a topic for that on this forum where most brands have been discussed.
"not aligned to speaker grids: joking? this is sensors layout! though not everbody experiences problems with sp covering them.
for ex my antiglare covers the sensor but does not interfere at all, still very "sensitive".

Can you tell me where she got her's then? Brand? And also, is the SP aligned edge to edge?
Because I hate a screen protector that does leaves about 1cm of screen unprotected (see pictures).
Not to step on anyone's toes here, but let's also remember that the purpose of the screen saver is to protect the screen from damage, which I highly doubt is likely to occur in the nanometer of space at the edge of an imperfect screen protector. I do realize that we want to do the best we can to make things right, but I am just trying to throw a little perspective into the mix.

Martin Fields Overlay Screen Protector is what I got and it fits perfectly. Easily to install, no bubbles. It not a cheap one but worth it IMO.

it's perfect. unlike most, it is perfectly cut for the speaker, covers the light and proximity sensors and they still work perfectly.

I will always vouch for Martin Fields... however you can also consider PDair's screen protector... mine fits ALL the edges perfectly... it also follows the speaker grill... you can't even tell its there. Because they claim (and I believe it after using it) 99% transparency... it is so clear my light sensors work perfectly even though the SP covers it...it also isnt cheap

I use that one too. Very nice feel in use, and washable too so you can have multiple attempts at applying it perfectly.
However I have a slight bubble on my screen but its not visible when the phone is switched on. With skilled hands there's no reason you couldn't apply a perfect fit.
THE GENUINE HTC PROTECTOR LINES UP PERFECTLY ! MADE BY HTC THEMSELVES WITH ACTUAL PDAS NOT DUMMY MODELS LIKE OTHER SCREEN PROTECTOR MANUFACTURERS !
Cheapest on eBay, not kidding ! Another search shows one for 3.75 pounds total. Get it here for 3 quid if bidding and if you want to buy now for 3.5 quid.
These retail for about 8.22 at Clove Technology.
Get a screen protector for your loved HD2, I certainly got one for my baby.

in another hand if the SP is a bit too large this may not stick well/make bubbles on the sides depending on the product.
1mm gap can't really bee seen and is not on the touchscreen field.
As promised, pics of Vikuity DQC:
and these last with Flexishield case on:
As you can see, i need to vacuum, it's really dusty @ my place.
Hope it helps
fits perfect but 15 dollars for just one screen protector, the oem iphone one is 10 for 2 and theyre the best ones they make
we have a saying here: "you get what you pay for". As the chances of me scratching the screen or even just the protector are very slim (haven't scratched a screen yet) i think it was well worth the money. Also, big plusses for me were the button cutouts, instead of it not covering the whole glass area like ebay ones, the feel when touched almost identical to the glass screen, and also the free install by a professional, which guaranteed a perfect, bubble free fit. Also, if you don't have pro to install it for you you can take it off and just wash it..
I purchased this based on some feedback I had read one some other forums. I have tried nearly every major screen protector out there (Spigen, RearthUSA, Incipio, PowerSupportUSA, Switcheasy, BodyGuardz, XO Skins, Best Skins Ever, a ton of cheap ones off Amazon, Zagg, etc.). Up until this point, I had always found the Ultra Crystal from Spigen to be the best overall. Not anymore.
Before I get started I want to mention that the Martin Fields Screen protectors are not cheap. One screen protector for the Nexus 7 is $29.99 ($34.99 for one iPad protector and $16.99 for one Galaxy Nexus protector)and it only comes with one screen protector and a set of instructions. That's it. I will say that the packaging is very environmentally friendly for those that care (makes no difference to me).
One issue I've always found to be a huge problem with these dry, crystal clear screen protectors (Again, think Spigen Ultra Crystal) is that they show fingerprints so easily that it really can become a huge nuisance and to my surprise this one doesn't show much at all. I would say it's nearly as good at resisting fingerprints as a matte finish screen protector.
A very innovative feature this screen protector offers is that it is completely removable. They include a Mylar sheet that you can stick it to if you need to take it off. Just apply a small piece of scotch tape at the bottom corner and slowly pull to remove it. This does bring up the biggest problem that I have with this protector though. It is somewhat brittle. It will crease if you aren't careful with it.
Turn on a steamy shower and install. Be patient as these things are a perfect fit and will require some patience to install.
Quick Summary:
PROS:
As clear as any I've ever used
Does not pick up oils like most clear, dry application screen protectors generally do
Feels as close to glass as anything I've ever used
Reusable
Covers entire screen
Comes with a Camera Lens cover as well
CONS:
Not cheap. If you purchase directly from MartinFields.com it is $16.99 + $4.99 shipping. Be aware of fakes on Amazon.
Doesn't come with much. Just a simple paper package, a screen protector and a Mylar sheet to apply it to if you decide to take it off and use it later.
Fragile, it will crease if you aren't careful

Martin field are awesome. I'm using one on my galaxy nexus since January and it's still in perfect shape. I would buy that for my N7 but I'm keeping it naked.

Hahahaha! That is hilarious. They do show fingerprints like a lot of dry application protectors but they don't have that blue smear effect ou get (Ultra Crystal).
So I purchased one of these and installed it this afternoon. All is well except three of the corners have a bubble and appear slightly lifted. The protector appears to be installed properly and no amount of rubbing with a credit card or fingers can get these edges to stick. Fwiw, I tried a reinstallation and have not touched the adhesive side.

How easy to install screen protector like this on Nexus 7?
I have concern for dust particles, bubbles and imperfection because 7" is not quite small.
And how is it with the touch, swiping, etc. still good?
If you can make some photos showing from corner to corner, that would be awesome.
Thanks for your review btw, I am considering to use this MF screen protector + some kind of back-case ala Incipio Feather for phones
I have installed probably 10 different protectors on devices of various shapes and sizes, and I find that with patience, the bigger the device, the easier it is to get the protector aligned properly. But it does take patience as you can spend 15-30 minutes just fishing dust out with scotch tape without getting fingerprints on the back side of the protector to get a perfect, bubble free adhesion.
I gave up on running a hot shower while doing it as it just makes the dust harder to find if it gets on the screen anyways, and for me it always seems to.
I received this screen protector in the mail yesterday, and didn't hesitate to put it on. I have used other tempered glass screen protectors before, but I was hoping one would eventually be made for the curved S6 edge. Finally, there is one available. The glass comes with a colored top and bottom, which can be chosen for the color of the phone you have. For mine, I got the white to go with my pearl white phone. It's hard to tell at first glance that there even is a screen protector on my phone. I personally think that instead of having the cutout for the Samsung logo, they should have had the logo printed on the glass itself to make the top of the screen protector more seamless. With the screen protector on, it does make the home button flush to the thickness. I like that, but others might not.
I have noticed some differences in use between having the screen protector on vs having it off. First off is that the screen protector seems to attract more smudges than the original glass does. Secondly, the screen itself does seem less sensitive (especially near the edge) which makes edge functions much harder to do. They aren't impossible, but I do find myself having to push down on the screen much harder than I used to. Lastly, reflections on the screen make it visible that there are slight dips in the glass itself. Looking at a reflection reveals probably about 6 or 7 spots that look dented in. It seems to be sporadic in placement, and doesn't seem to affect usage.
I have found it hard to find a suitable case that works well with the tempered glass screen protector. Any case that has any lip protection will not play nice with this accessory. Luckily, my Spigen thin fit case works just fine with it. This isn't the type of phone that I want out of a case at any time. ( I have the 128gb model, and I'm not about to break it.) I'm hoping I won't have to actually test out the durability of the screen protector, but it is rated as scratch resistant, and rated at 9H for hardness, so I would expect it to stand up just like any other tempered glass screen protector.
Bottom line: If you don't mind sacrificing case choices and screen sensitivity, then get this screen protector. Just be sure to have a micro fiber cloth with you to get rid of all of those smudges. If amFilm can possibly coat the screen in a smudge resistant film, as well as increase sensitivity, then they could potentially corner the market on a very hard to come by product.

how are you feeling about this after using it for a few days? Has the sensitivity increased at all?
I received a sample screen protector from TechMatte for the Galaxy S7 Edge and would like to share my experiences with this product with the people here at XDA.
Ok so, we all know how to apply a screen protector right?
Well I do it a little different and it has always worked for me, I will try to explain here and just maybe it will help you in the future.
Skip this part if you don't care about how I installed this
First I always apply a screen protector in the bathroom.
I do this because of two main reasons.
First you can close it off and it is a small room with little to no airflow to stir up and move around dust and fibers.
Second, you can run a hot shower and fill the room with steam.
The steam in the air will make all of the latent dust in the air drop to the ground.
Those two things will guarantee you a dust and bubble free installation every time.
Ok from there on out it is just the standard, clean clean clean clean clean and more clean.
Then clean some more.
Peel the back layer, and align the cutout for the home button and the bottom edge of the protector with the phone..
Slowly lay down the protector and use the squeegee to press the protector down as you go.
The top cutouts should be perfectly aligned if you got the bottom right.
Gently wipe any bubbles you may have with your finger or the squeegee towards the edge or a cutout.
Once you have the majority of the bubbles gone, just peel back the top layer of the protector and finish up with any minor bubbles you may have.
My install went flawless, I did have 2 micro bubbles that disappeared in about 20 minutes.
The protector covers 100% of the screen and almost to the edges of the glass.
It does stop just before the metal frame and this is important.
This is the first screen protector I have tried that I was able to use a case with.
Every other one the case would hit the edge of the protector and peel it off the screen.
The feel of this protector is not bad at all, much better than the wet install ones.
All of the cutouts are perfectly aligned, this again is important.
The home button cutout is so precise that I was able to align the entire protector up only using the home button cutout and the bottom edge.
I will come back and update this if I have issues with this in the future, however I doubt I will as this seems to fit perfect.
I will attach some pictures here, I tried to get as many angles as I could.
With a Spigen Liquid Crystal case installed.

Thank you TechMatte for the review sample, I had tried 8 other protectores previous and thought there was no good ones for this phone.
I just showed my wife your install method and she laughed her button off. Omg, someone as crazy as you! My family knows. When I'm putting on a screen protector. Do not disturb! Lol
I'm surprised at how good this screen protector is. It comes with a plastic guide that goes on your phone and makes sure the glass lines up perfectly. It comes with 2 kits that include wet and dry cleaning cloths, dust removal stickers, and the glass screen protectors.
This package also includes a protective sticker for the back of the phone. I'm using a case, so I'm not going to use the sticker, but it's nice that they included it.
Finger print scanner works like normal. My phone case fits like normal and I can barely see that there's a screen protector on my phone. This is a way better purchase than I expected. Much higher quality than I expected.
The only thing I'm unsure of is the protector for the camera. I haven't been able to test it out in daylight to see if it shows up in the photos. Only 1 lens protector is included. My case sort of protects the lenses, so worst case I just remove the lens protector.

Do you guys realize it's kinda pointless to use screen protectors on Gorilla Glass 5, not to mention camera lens which is covered with sapphire glass.. you wouldn't be able to scratch it even if you tried.
i am more worried about dropping it, that amoled costs about half the phone in here
From where are you guys buying screen protector for this device?

Thanks for this tip, exactly as you described. Usually these things end up in the bin. Didn't even need to re do finger print , no rainbowing, full adhesive. Top notch. Sacked of camera piece as didn't take but wasn't bothered anyway.

Glass is all clear, no frames.
I also have this screen protector. No need to manual adjust the screen protector just put the guide on your phone then place the screen protector. Voila, perfect fit!
Best combination for me is this screen protector + xundd beatle case.

Mostly online, it is available in amazon for like 10 US dollars. Here in the Philippines it only costs 8 US dollars.
Hi all !
Also bought this glass kit and must say first impression is positive compared with hydrogel foil and some noname glass.
Transparent, no fingerprint, great feeling under finger, case friendly cut BUT view screwed when wear polarised sunglasses.
