Hi,
I've bought a new Xiaomi Mi3... it came with MiuiV6 installed, but it doesnt have IMEI!!
The IMEI on the back of it is OK, the phone is an original Xiaomi Mi3... i belive that the seller (ibuygou.com) made a fail flash of Miui V6 and the Imei was lost in the process...
I've tried a hard reset and nothing... i've flashed the lastest Fastboot via MiFlash.... and the lastest 5.2.13 Multilang ROM... i had problems with Wi-Fi connection and after this they were resolved... But the SIm recognition (does not recognizes it) and the IMEI Loss is still happening...
Anyone can help me?!? ibuygou.com is on spring festival hollidays
Via QPST i've downloaded the 00000000_0.qcn File... but once i don t know what is the bricked/crashed IMEI how can i change the Hex code for the correct IMEI?! is there any way to find out what Hex code i have to replace?!? so i can restore the 00000000_0.qcn File with the correct IMEI?!
Regards
Hugo

Darkmed repair imei :good:
I had my phone hard bricked, but managed to boot up and restored using KDZ, but could not connect to network as showing IMEI 0. Wondering if there is any well defined process to get the IMEI restored.
Update: My phone mode is LG L90 D410 Dual Sim version. I am able to get one sim working by setting IMEI of one SIM using QPST tool. Any lead for repair of SIM 2 IMEI

Are you able to make calls with IMEI 0 ? Which model you phone is ? Is it a Dual SIM ? I have restored my one IMEI using QPST tool and it's working without any issue even on 3G, but no lead to IMEI of second SIM. Do you have a backup of your nvram / qcn file ?
Can you make a guide on restoring the IMEI? Would help a lot.

You need modemst1 and modemst2 partitions backup in order to completely recover your IMEI, MAC, etc.
Those two partitions are unique and private to each phone, so sharing your modemst partitions means sharing your IMEI, not a good idea.
Backup those two partitions is the first thing everyone should immediately do after rooting the phone.

I am totally a naive with Android OS working, but I am able to see SIM1 IMEI in my QCN file and able to make it to any value and write it back to see the IMEI changed, but have no idea where the second IMEI is written (if it is there at all) [As well if going via NV Item, IMEI 1 is @ item id 550]
Any solution to the sim card 2 ?

Hey, everyone, I need some help:
On my SM-920G, I re-installed stock 6.0.1 (last official update before 7.0) and, now, I don't have access to the network (says emergency calls only). IMEI and serial number are both intact. What can I do to regain access to my network? I know it's not a motherboard problem because it happened after flashing stock software. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.
Thank you,
VinceLupe

I would remove and reinstall your SIM card and check your APN settings.

Did you install the right firmware for your region? You should check that or flash right modem file. If all else fails use kies to restore phone to factory or flash a custom rom and check if everything works.

So, I actually had to have an IMEI change... Long story - but, my question now is: is it possible to return to stock (completely stock) and NOT lose my IMEI number? I've heard some people say, "yes," and O be heard some people say, "no." Is it possible?

I don't think there is any risk of losing IMEI if you flash stock with odin, but if you have root then firstly take an efs backup, just in case, efs is where your IMEI is stored.

If you have root then in the root folder you will find a folder called efs. Just copy it and save it to your SD card or your computer. If you have custom recovery then you can save it from the backup option but I guess that won't help much if you flash stock with odin then it will remove your custom recovery. There are also some apps on the play store but I never used them, I use the first method.

Yeah, I'm just on stock, so that won't work - but, now I have another issue:
So, here's what happened... I got my IMEI changed, and all was good. But, then I realized that my phone was rooted. I tried to flash magisk to have magisk installed, and then my phone wouldn't boot up. Afterwards, I flashed stock to restore official device status, but when I did so, I realized that my network wasn't working. My IMEI (clean IMEI) is still showing, but I DO NOT have any access to my network and can't search the web or anything. What could be the issue, and what is the easiest way to fix it?

Did you flash the correct firmware? The same region as it was when it was working? Flashing a stock rom from a different region sometimes causes this and you need to flash the right one or at least the 'modem' file of the right one to get it working. Or you could use Samsung Kies software to completely recover your phone to its original state when it was bought. Also, What do you mean by saying changed IMEI? Did it not show it correctly or got corrupted and you fixed it? or you changed it completely to a different one from the original?
If you have a good IMEI just call your provider and give them your IMEI and your sim card numbers.

CodeNameRedNeck,
So, I have a good IMEI number, but I cannot register the network service. It tells me "Emergency Calls Only" even though it shows a signal in the top right hand corner. Are you saying that I just need to call TIGO (I am in Bolivia) and register my IMEI number as well the SIM card numbers - or, could it be that there is an even deeper issue? Also, which SIM card numbers are you talking about? Thank you, my friend.

Mufrad,
I completely changed the IMEI to a clean one because, apparently, when I traded for the Note 5 (I am in Bolivia, and that's what people do here), the original IMEI was put on the blacklist. So, now I have a completely different IMEI that is clean (unreported), but I do not have any network access at all - furthermore, when I access the menu using *#0011#, it says "IMEI Status: NG" under IMEI Status. I'm not sure if it's a software problem? I have a friend looking at the phone, but I do not have any idea how it's going because he still hasn't been able to fix it.

When my son switched from an iphone to Android we had to call AT&T and give them those numbers before it worked. I had an Xperia phone that I had to do the same with. There are apps that can read your sim card number. It should also be printed on your sim card.

Try to flash diffferent firmware. Maybe some fault/incompatibility with the firmware you flashed.
Sounds like the IMEI config in the BIOS has been corrupted. It will have to be reconfigured.
