You're at right place my friend. I had backed up stock bootlogo before flashing custom one and it is twrp flashable and more luckily I was able to locate it easily in my pc otherwise it takes a lot of time to find old backups in my laptop.
thank you

Check out the new Android boot animation-I personally like it a lot.

If someone installs the dev preview 3 and is willing-please share the boot animation here.
Thanks in advance.

Do I need to be rooted to change the boot animation? Can I push the file with adb without root or UBL?

As far as I know you have to be rooted, because it's replacing the bootanimation.zip in the root/system/media

Did you ever try and flash this with ADB? I ask because I manually applied the MRA58K OTA onto my AT&T Nexus 6 and it didn't change the boot animation, it's still the Lollipop boot animation..
I dont want to root or ubl to get this working but if it can be pushed through ADB or fastboot that'd be great.

There are only AT&T and T-Mobile versions available at TWRP official site. You should try PhilZ Touch recovery

I usually flash images via my PC, which is currently down. Has anyone had experiences with image flashing in twrp? Stable? Any major problems I should be aware of?
Thanks

The new version of TWRP 3.0.0.1 is able to flash img-files. But every IMG I have flashed was/is available as flashable zip-file.
For N6 you could look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3059493

Thanks I'll give it a read. I've been wanting to try N and being there are no flashable zips available yet through twrp I was considering flashing system and boot via twrp. Would it work?

I've not tried that myself. I would not try flashing N beta, as long there is no PC available to solve issues.
Better ask in this thread.

We have CM 12.1 available.
Fingerprint sensor and NFC isn't working in it.
This thread is misleading users here, it should have proper methods or tools to install TWRP. having only recovery image doesn't solve anything.

So anyone else tested other than @Nik001 ? It's going to be revolutionary update for k4 as this would led us to root, develop roms, scope for cm13, miui, etc.
