[DISCUSSION] Android Nougat 7.0 Samsung Galaxy S5 - Galaxy S 5 General

Hello,
Now that Nougat is named and released let's talk Nougat for the S5.

Hi there
The Galaxy S4 has already got a working Android Nougat Build
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-orig-develop/jdcteam-android-source-project-nrd90m-t3453084
So expect one soon on your device

Compile it and they will come [emoji1]
Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk

I hope this idea comes to fruition, I'd love to see Nougat on my old S5.

Still running my S5 and would love to see some Nougat.
Any devs wanna give it a go? Please?

JDCTeam sure is one of the best team exist in xda, i really like how they work with their roms, always having a fast & stable rom just within a months.
Seeing this, i want to get back to my S4....

Cm source is in too early stage that somebody could compile it ive tried many times you cant even compile the kernel

[DISCUSSION] Will our Xperia T/TL/TX/V get the 4.4 KitKat update?

Well... Android 4.4 is announced, and as they mentioned the new update can work pretty fine with devices with only 512 MB ram. What do you think? Will our loved devices get official/unofficial update to that great update? Let me hear your opinions
Sent from my Awesome Xperia T using XDA. Cool, Right?
Mmmmm maybe, i don't know. This is a business for Sony.
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk
I don't think the T will get it, We'll be lucky enough if they upgrade us to 4.3!
Sony are to lazy to do this tbh.
Sent from my Xperia T using Tapatalk
Well... If it requires why won't they update it? I mean... It uses less hardware than 4.2 ...right?
Sent from my Awesome Xperia T using XDA. Cool, right?
we have unofficial 4.3 so yeah we should get unofficial 4.4 ..... i mean the galaxy ace official stopped at 2.something (gingerbread) but they have 4.1 at least on there i was using jellybean on my ace when i had it so no reason why 4.4 cannot be developed for our devices .... it al depends on the developers if they see fit to do it and if they can be bothered to ....
I think we will get 4.3 on spring 2014. IDK if we will be updated to 4.4

if Qualcomm doesnt release the Kernal Sources to our devices then we are lost for updates. Not even sony can do anything about it.
Now this is the real deal and big hope that T/V/?/???? can get even 4.4 update sonner or later.. maybe!

Xperia T was a flagship just one year ago: it DESERVES an update to 4.4 as the last one
The T is dead, deal with it :good:
some custom Rom may keep it alive a bit longer, but Sony will not do anything for it anymore.
This was my first and last Sony phone .. Only Nexus from now on

Don't be very sure about nexus because Google promises you updates for only two years. Then..... Another nexus... At least Sony's last update was in July. I don't think it's dead yet.

you wrote that before some times...but you still here with a XT and not have a Nexus5, why is that? Whats the problem selling your T and buying a cheap Nexus :silly:
I wrote this in another thread and I'll repeat here. I think we will get 4.3 update, most probably. This is an strong phone still, and it would be really surprise to see it dead and forgotten, regarding updates. Sony should be blamed for shortening this phone's flagship life to the minimum, and therefore slashing sales to minimum too. You can hardly see anyone carrying T around.
One more thing to say is... I really like this company, and their products. And I often find myself defending them even when I shouldn't. I was frustrated with terrible ICS update for Xperia Arc, but going away from Xperia was no option even then, so I ended up with T.
But honestly, if they leave this phone to dust, with no more updates, I will seriously consider changing my phone manufacturer with my next phone. Logical choice will be Nexus obviously, and never Samsung.
But let's wait and see...

[REQ] Could someone please port GT-I9300I KitKat 4.4.4 TouchWiz ROM to the GT-I9305?

As Samsung decided to not release the 4.4.4 update for the GT-I9305, can some developer please port the Update from GT-I9300I (GS3 NEO) to the LTE model?
(Moved it to the development forum for Developers to see it.)
Thanks!!

Thanks buddy, but if they release 4.4.4 KitKat for the Note II they'll release it for the SGS3 at the same time, so no point actually, where can I get the Note II 4.4.2 Port for S3?

Installing a Stock ROM to dual boot with MultiROM

Hello,
Just wondering if it is possible to install a Stock ROM without root with MultiROM and keep my primary ROM (Pure Nexus) at the same time? Thanks!
Yeah, you can add what ever ROM you like. Or do you mean a stock system image, cos that's a different story...

I just want a nice clean unrooted ROM to flip back and forth from, is that possible?
Yep, just download the cleanest one you can find, probs stock, and flash it in recovery, but make sure you do it in the multirom section ?

Alright awesome Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't flash over anything like Radio or kernel. Will the stock OTA work?
No Unfortunately not but if you flash one from XDA they should always be pushing out updates which you can dirty flash

so these (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/ref-nexus-6-stock-ota-urls-t2906493) won't work?
These will work but to get the ota's you'll need the stock recovery, so no twrp or anything

But you can always just download the newest version and dirty flash it, if you have the time

And where might one find the newest version? Does it matter that I use Verizon?
Find the ROM that you like and see if there a carrier specific ones, and I live on Australia, so I have no idea about Verizon etc ?

I think Pure Nexus ROM is the closest you'll find, or maybe the full version of Cataclysm though it does have some tweaks. Probably the best bet.

The closest ROM would be ASOPA (Paranoid Android 7.1.2) with their built-in theme engine and other features comparable to Oxygen OS

Rom upgrade advice

I am using my moto x 2013 on KitKat vanilla with Xposed for about 2 years now. I tried to flash other MM Rom a year ago but every rom had some issues.
Is it possible to upgrade to MM from KK.
Which Rom is the best?
Thank you for your help!
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
What one is best is very subjective lol I run lineage 13 currently with everything working but I really like the 7.1.2 Experience rom best however on that headphones , camera, and for me GPS don't work. It does have excellent stability and battery life.

Bottom line if you've got an unlocked bootloader and working twrp recovery try them out maybe you'll find one you like

Yes you should be able to wipe and clean install. I dont do dirty flashes when switching between different roms.
