Android pay? - BLU R1 HD Questions & Answers

Noticed that Android pay is not available for my Amazon R1 HD. Anybody able to downloaid it from the play store?
On an unrelated/maybe related topic...
The Disney Tsum game is not letting me play due to "Iniquitous tools", essentially saying the phone is rooted. But this is a brand new phone, completely unrooted. Could this be related to why I can't download android pay (since pay is not able to be used on rooted devices)?

i think android pay uses NFC, which this phone doesn't have.

Android Pay requires an NFC interface, which this phone lacks.

Well that sucks...I knew it lacked NFC but I figured I could still use android pay for gift cards. Thanks for the insight guys!

Google Wallet

Anyone think it's possible to make GWallet to work on our phone? I really really like the function.
Well...idk but you can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744403-the flashable package most likely won't flash properly so you'll have to extract the contents and put them in the appropriate places then reboot...

The Vivid doesn't have an NFC chip, so Google Wallet won't work. There once was a NFC enabled microSD by Moneto that could utilize MasterCard Paypass, but wouldn't give access to Google Wallet, only access to Moneto's Paypass app. However there website says they're "Undergoing some Changes", and although i didn't look hard, I couldn't find any place to purchase - not to mention last I heard it was only compatible with Samsungs..

It's not AT&T's fault. When the Vivid, and just about every other phone, came out last year, NFC technology was in a state of flux - and it still is. Google announced just in the past day or so that it's changing to work with all cards. Few phones have the NFC chips. A lot of businesses are not yet equipped to work with them. The next round of new phones should have more phones with NFC chips. A year from now might be a lot different. However, taking a credit card from my "real" wallet and running it through the scanner might take 3-4 seconds. I really am not upset if that's 1-2 seconds slower than using my phone.

[SOLVED] [Q] Activation bypass on Optimus 4X HD

Hi,
I am looking to replace my galaxy player which just died, and I am thinking about using a standard phone without a service plan, as a wifi only device. Anyway, I'm leaning toward the Optimus 4X HD, since it can be had for just a couple hundred bucks, and it's pretty well spec'd. The problem is, I don't know if it requires activation to use, since some devices do and some don't. And if it is required, is there a way to bypass it like on Motorola devices? Just for reference, this one on eBay is the one I'm looking at (or one like it). Any help would be most appreciated.

Carrier: Unlocked
i dont understand what you mean by activation bypass, but this item on ebay is not locked to any carrier.
Actually, you can run this phone without any activation (for ex. you don't need to connect your google account to use the phone).
Some activation step (as with every android), appear on the first boot, but you just skip it just by not connecting to any network (unticking the boxes with mobile data and wi-fi).
As you write, you will use the phone to surf the net, of course you can activate the internet option after skipping activation.
Thanks for the help, sorry if I was confusing. I was referring to carrier activation, since on some phones it seems to be mandatory before the phone can be used. Anyway, the fact that it's unlocked I think renders that irrelevant.

[Q] Google Wallet

Will the Nexus 6 support Google Wallet Tap and Pay? I'm assuming that it will. I'm on T-Mobile and currently have the Note 3 which they are blocking from working with Google Wallet. Since this is a Google device, I'm hoping that Tap and Pay will work. I'm tired of the Isis/SofCard stuff especially since it doesn't work with rooted phones.
It will surely work!

The Note 3 isn't blocked. The NFC chip in the Note 3 doesn't have support for Host Card Emulation in KitKat.
Google not supporting Google Wallet fully on their own branded device would be silly. Especially with Apple Pay now on the scene. There is a 99.999% chance that it will work..
Use it all the time without fail on my g3. Should be awesome bumping a big screen TV to the pay pass device.

I'm using Isis on my rooted Note 3: I used an Xposed module called RootCloak. 'Worked like a charm.
Got mine yesterday and setup Wallet, Tap & Pay is working as expected.
Yeah I used it yesterday and I'm on ATT
I've been having a lot of trouble using sofcard since rooting in my note 3. Root cloak does NOT work. But the root cloak module with xposed did the trick. It now works flawlessly.

Since this is the nexus 6 forums and is running lollipop. Xposed does not work on our device.
To answer op, Google wallet works without any problems although you should note that some companies have disabled Nfc payments due to their partnership with that company, I forget on the top of my head but search for cvs Google wallet

Confirmed working on Verizon, purchased through Sprint. I use it wherever I can.

That would be awesome!
Been using Wallet since I got the phone last week from ATT. I wish I got a buck for; "Oh is that the new iPhone 6?" comments, Apple did invent paying via NFC after all.
^ Lmao, just had this happen this morning.
Just to be clear... It sounds like the op is talking about tap and pay, which is one of many features of google wallet. Subsequent answers seem to be making the assumption that google wallet IS tap and pay, which is patently untrue. Google wallet works fabulously on old non-NFC iphones for example... Its just that the tap and pay feature doesnt.
In answer to whether gw tap and pay works on the n6, it works fine. But beware if you are into custom roms... Last i looked, there were no AOSP roms besides stock google, in which tap and pay works without kludgey workarounds if at all.
My att n6 is rooted but othwise stock and i used gw tap and pay in the verizon store to buy something for my brother, and in the tmobile store to buy something for my wife.
I used gw tap and pay at CVS and Walgreen's a few months ago on my 4.4.2 note 2 and it worked fine. But I've heard the drug stores are might be trying to do something that might block he tap and pay.

Device not certified?

Does everyone's device say that it's not certified by Google? Or is it just my phone? Look in Google play under settings, at the bottom. Says my phone in uncertified under device certification. That can't be good.

I did find this ( Google is my friend, I know) but it didn't make me feel any better.

So it's mine. Sooo? Everything works fine, including all the Google applications. Maybe article was right saying that the thing didn't work right and I quote " But unfortunately, the status isn't properly working yet since many users with Pixels — of all devices — are seeing the "Uncertified" label. " Now that I find very funny that Google can't even certify it's own device, released months ago. Since S8 was just released few weeks ago and comes from Samsung, who likes to have it's own TouchWiz and it's own apps suite replacing most of Google apps, I would be shocked if it was certified. But no worries, without Samsung, Android would loose half of it's user base and without Google Samsung would loose most of it's phones. It's almost like bees and flowers, one depends on the other.
I did a factory reset because Google really was screwed up.last night, and now play store says my device is certified. Weird.

Ordered an X4 over G6, any recommendations?

Hello everyone,
I was in need of a new phone and sick of Apple and IOS. I am just done with the Apple ecosystem all together. When it comes to Android, it is stock or nothing for me. I'm not a power user by any means though, so I can't really justify the cost of a Pixel 2. The G6 and the X4 appeared to be my best options. I went with the X4 because of the better chipset, faster ram, better cameras, and ip68 rating. I know some would argue that the G6 has a better display and more modern design, but the display doesn't offset the fact that the X4 is a step up all around with everything else. I honestly would rather stick with 16:9 and they both have 424ppi anyways. I wouldn't have minded a Nokia 6.1 but where I live in Wisconsin it is Verizon, US Cellular, or no service. GSM only phones are a no go.
So I picked up a brand new unlocked Moto X4 32gb from Best Buy. (Non Fi or Prime) I was able to swendle them into price matching the $250 Amazon Prime version. As for service, I decided to go with Verizon prepaid over a MVNO like straight talk or total wireless. I pay a little more in exchange for higher prioritizeation and faster data speeds. The prioritizeation really matters where I live because everyone is using Verizon towers. Straight Talk and Total wireless are very, very popular in my area and very, very cheap (as low as $35 for 6gb) but I notice that their data speeds are about 1/4 that of Verizon prepaid and postpaid.
So, any recommendations or tips for a new Moto X owner? I plan to unlock the bootloader and root it today. Clean things up a bit, ditch encryption for a little performance bump. I look forward to tinkering with Android again.
Update:
Loving the X4! This was a well needed upgrade for me. It was funny to get 4 updates in a row. May, June, July, August security updates. Why did it have to do them one at a time? lol
Moto x4 is really nice device, its quick, lagfree, handy, stock out of box, no bloatware (only Moto few app)... only downside is camera quality, its very poor and moto doesn't provide speedy update like pixel or oneplus

If you have already done this, then I think it is important to know that you have absolutely voided your warranty. There is no way to re-lock your bootloader in a fashion that will satisfy the manufacturer. Also, now that you have tripped the "e-fuse" or "q-fuse" or whatever you want to call it, you will never be able to use google pay without using magisk to trick it.
If you haven't already loaded F-DROID to download Ad Away, I highly recommend doing that as well.

I actually have not as of yet. After doing some research, I don't think that I am going to either. Warranty is not a big deal to me on a $250 phone, but I would really like to use Android Pay. Also, one of the main reasons I root is to remove unwanted apps. I don't see much bloatware on here and I like some of the Moto features. I already ditched my navigation bar in favor of the fingerprint gestures. The three finger screenshot gesture is legit too. I'm happy with the phone the way it is for now.
What is F-DROID?

I unlocked bootloader rooted and installed lineage. I decided to go back to stock and relocked bootloader - Google pay works without root and magisk.
