wich tutorial did you use, because you're sure it worked?
Whats the version your flashed?
When you shut down... wait few seconds after phone is shut down.... hold volme up and power button.
That will bring you to recovery
The tutorial:
http://xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-install-twrp-v3-on-mi-5/
Same version of the tutorial.
FYI after unlocking bootloader my data didn't wipe! so I tried to unlock again but the mi unlock tool said that »the phone does not need to be unlocked.« I tried adb device info command to know if phone is unlocked but it failed!
twrp was successfully flashed according to adb message and because the"phone with cable" image for not come up again.
I waited up abou 30 seconds but it just was rebooting and rebooting and...!
What if you try this http://en.miui.com/thread-309596-1-1.html

Glad you got it, that's whats XDA is all about: helping each other:good:
Easiest method I found was to be on China developer latest ROM. Once you got bootloader unlocked, theres an option to root your device in permissions. The global doesn't have this option. Then i went to the playstore and downloaded the twrp manager. Use version 3.02 not the latest. It doesn't work. Let it go do it on its own and your good now.

What is the correct one then?
Just use terminal emulator.
Type this code in it:

And your phone will automatically reboot and go to download mode!

Bootloader is different than Download mode. It is of no use in our phone. Some phones have some bootloader menu while the Ace does not have one. So when you choose bootloader, the phone will just do a reboot!

Guys,
I'm relatively new to flashing recovery and ROMs..
So, sorry if this is a noob question..
I really need urgent help!
I am on V20a (ESA-XXX) and have successfully rooted my phone.
I tried installing CWM using this method..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180138
I used the unsecure boot provided by gordon0001
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39918805&highlight=unsecure#post39918805
After i restarted my phone, it got stuck at boot!!
Its gives the following error and turns of in 5 seconds..
[LG-Security] Error: Boot Image Signature!
The phone doesn't start and does not go into recovery either..
The phone is not even recognised by my PC.. keeps restarting (to error screen) if i connect to pc..
Please, someone help me.. I'm really scared.. I don't want to lose my phone.. :crying:
I read a similar prob, but no solution found..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223697
PLEASE HELP!!
SOLUTION:
Reflash .kdz via Software Upgrade Mode (hold Power button and Volume - )
Dude, reflashing your phone should work. As long as SW mode is still accessible, your phone isn't dead yet. Follow the instructions on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35971349 Be freaking sure all necessary drivers are properly installed.
Or you can put your phone in recovery mode (power + vol +) and reinstall the stock rom using recovery LG tools providing your Internet connection is fast and stable
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
hey dude, i have flashed 7 times exactly since this morning only. and i have gotten that error 3 times of those 7. so it should not be a problem
Thanks!
After a few attempts, was able to go to the s/w upgrade mode.. (power + vol(-) )
Reflashed .kdz and it's all good.. (had to root again)
Actually, i was freaked out more coz it's my new phone and i didn't find others with the problem..
I hope that this thread would help if anyone faces a similar problem in the future..
Thanks for the prompt response, guys!

You needed to unlock bootloader first, either "adb reboot oem-unlock" or download terminal emulator, root the phone and type:
su
echo 40000000c8 > /sys/firmware/fuse/odm_reserved

flashing stock is not at all dangerous. it will not brick your device or something else.
Sometimes you even have to re-stock your phone.

So if I understood you right, you tried to install CWM without unlocking your boot loader? So now you got a boot image error? I'd suggest to try LG Mobile Support Tool and flash V20A/V20B and then unlock Boot loader. Even if you're on "official JB" as of now, installing CWM without unlocked bootloader screwed your boot image and there's no way to do anything without flashing back a kdz.

I think EMMa should work also with unlocked bootloaders.

Nope man, I think you need to install Flashtool on your pc, then install adb drivers from drivers folder in Flashtoll installation folder. Next download any firmware which you want to flash and move it to C:/Flashtool/firmware/here. Then just connect phone in flash mode and select that light in the left corner and select that firmware and tap flash. Done, your phone should boot now.

Yes, once you get addicted into Android, you can't just leave it lol.
It's easy to customize with Miui, like themes etc.. But as a Android one user, you will feel like you need to flash an AOSP based rom and get rid of Miui.

Yes LOL!
But youve to unlock its bootloader first, for a kind info - Unlocking bootloader was like really really pain in ass!
You've to apply for that via their website then wait for their approvals, once you get approvals then try unlocking oem, it'll fail... Fail.. Fail..again n again, but one day it'll let you unlock your phone successfully. Lol
Like that, once you get your device unlocked with their official method, then play with roms! ?

You can't put it in fast boot bootloader?
Pres and hold power button until shut off then hold power and volume down for five seconds to go in fast boot.
After flash stock rom by fast ood adb to fix all problems.
If you can acces recovery go to twrp advance settings and hit the button "fix" contests".
If you can't access recovery do the first way .

You can found all informations to return full stock from this link...

You must know what model you have (xt1095,xt1097 etc)
Download the last marshmallow rom of your model and running the fast boot steps like quide.
Will be everything ok after that.
If you don't have XT1095 don't use Motorola link because this link is only for the xt1095 pure edition model.
