Hello everyone,
my homebutton stopped working so i send to to repair. Since i have a custom ROM with root installed they refuse to repair in withing the warranty.
So, i need to flash back the custom ROM, but how can i achive this without a working homebutton? (which is vital to enter the download-mode)
any advice appreciated

there are apps like quickboot which let you to go to download mode by just clicking or you can search for doing same by adb.

What is the correct one then?
Just use terminal emulator.
Type this code in it:
su
reboot download
And your phone will automatically reboot and go to download mode!
Press thanks if I helped.

Bootloader is different than Download mode. It is of no use in our phone. Some phones have some bootloader menu while the Ace does not have one. So when you choose bootloader, the phone will just do a reboot!

Hi,
I have flashed my GalaxyS with the hardcore kernel. (I rebooted in download mode with "adb reboot download" bacause the 3 key combination didn't work for me).
Now the device is rebooting endlessly with the boot screen "GalaxyS".
I can't access download mode now.
How can I fix this issue?

Hm okay - lets think... you didn't get in Download-Mode before... Now you have a bootloop (what FW do you were on? What Speedmod Version did you flash? etc...) - why should you get in Download-Mode now...
Can you go in Recovery?
If so then you can use "adb reboot download" another time

Hi , if you cannot access download mode through adb or the three button combo you will have to make or buy a USB jig to force download mode (search xda or Google or eBay) then next step is install stock firmware .

1.The combination button must follow corect order [Vol up (or down) + Home + Power]
2.Try to remove battery and put it back, then go to Download mode.
That is my experience..good luck, my friend
First thing you do before anything else is making sure you have 3buttoncombination. Which you didnt or else you wouldnt have been in this mess.

Hey guys, for some reason my recovery mode won't work on my Samsung Galaxy S Advance. Whenever I try (volume up, home, power button) it just boots normally (power button). It doesn't even boot into download mode (volume down, home, power button)
I changed my build.prop file to a Galaxy S 2 GT-19100 and I'm planning to use Clockwork Mod to replace my missing recovery mode.
In selecting which device I have, do I click Samsung Galaxy S Advance or Galaxy S2 ?
I just wanna be careful with what I'm doing. Thanks.

First wrong forum, this is forum for developers to present their work. You should post in General I9070 forum!
About that with recovery, try to reinstall kernel. You are rooted, as you change build.prop. Use this.
Code:
1. Extract the attached file twice. You will end up with a kernel.bin.md5 file
2. Put the kernel.bin.md5 file to /sdcard
3. Start adb shell
4. Do the following commands:
Code:
$ su
# dd if=/sdcard/kernel.bin.md5 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p15
# reboot
5. Wait for the device to reboot.
Or, if you do not have adb shell on your PC, you can do steps from 4 to 5 on mobile. With Terminal emulator from Play store.
And I have to dissapoint you, and your plan. There is no working CWM for our phone yet. But there is TWRP. (with method I menton in this post).
Oh, I'm sorry, shut_down, still pretty fresh here. I'll know where to post next time thanks to you.
How I wish we had more developers for our phone. I hate how our phones are forgotten a little bit. Anyway thank you I'll try this and let you know !

Hi guys, I'm the developer of the mokee os for our mini.
Today.. working with a kernel, i flashed my phone with an experimental version of my mokee.
Now my phone can't boot: the screen starts blinking on and off...
I can access only to download mode and ramdump mode.
I flashed lots of firmwares (4 files and one package too) and odin complete the flashing process without errors, but the mini blinks.
What can i do?
I have no warranty :crying:

I think Frapeti posted it on CM 10.1 or 10.2 thread. But I will suggest you not to mess with that EFS pro backup, maybe it is made for other partition (not sure if it backed up right partition, I will not tell you to do something that could brick your phone...).
So I suggest you to backup with commands, and then restore after.

You can still enter in download mode with adb shell (or terminal on phone) command? If I enter in download mode with this method Odin doesn't recognize my phone. If you can see the "Warning" message when you press volume down+home+power your device can be repaired.
I remember that a long time ago a friend gave me his Galaxy S2 with volume keys broken that remained locked on Samsung Galaxy S2 boot screen, so no way to enter download mode. He said that a friend tried to modify the phone with no success. He went to the service center before give it to me and they told him that motherboard was to change, so I started looking on internet and I found to enter in download mode without volume key and working phone: USB JIG. I built it and was working, the phone booted itself in download mode without pressing any key and I've reflashed it, later I've repaired volume buttons, still my friend uses S2. Last week I've built another one for testing purposes with Galaxy S Advance, works. Phone boots in download mode itself (with "Factory Mode" writing instead of "Odin Mode"), Odin recognizes it and can be flashed normally. You can build one USB JIG with a micro usb type B male connector and 301KOMH resistance (I've used 150K+150K+1K) between pins 4 and 5, if you can't ask someone to do it for you or buy one already prepared on eBay (check 301KOMH resistance).

wich tutorial did you use, because you're sure it worked?
Whats the version your flashed?
When you shut down... wait few seconds after phone is shut down.... hold volme up and power button.
That will bring you to recovery
The tutorial:
http://xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-install-twrp-v3-on-mi-5/
Same version of the tutorial.
FYI after unlocking bootloader my data didn't wipe! so I tried to unlock again but the mi unlock tool said that »the phone does not need to be unlocked.« I tried adb device info command to know if phone is unlocked but it failed!
twrp was successfully flashed according to adb message and because the"phone with cable" image for not come up again.
I waited up abou 30 seconds but it just was rebooting and rebooting and...!

Glad you got it, that's whats XDA is all about: helping each other:good:
Easiest method I found was to be on China developer latest ROM. Once you got bootloader unlocked, theres an option to root your device in permissions. The global doesn't have this option. Then i went to the playstore and downloaded the twrp manager. Use version 3.02 not the latest. It doesn't work. Let it go do it on its own and your good now.
