HTC ONE Developer Edition Not Connecting to 2G network In India

Hi All,
I am using two Units of HTC One Developer Editions. With one handset the problem is it's connecting to 2G network. 3G works fine. I tried with MTNL sim and it worked and after that my first SIM which was not connecting to 2G also worked and after couple of hours situation came back and now the unit is only working with 3G network. Is there anyone else facing the same problem ??:crying:
Does anyone have any solution for this ??
Regards,
Mahesh
EDIT : After Doing S-OFF , now my handset it connecting to both the networks i.e. 2G and 3G
Thanks Moonlight Team ReOne Team

because In india there are some places where we do not have 3G connectivity..
It might just be wonky signal in your area for 2G.
Also if you are using hand cut old sim, just get it changed to proper micro sim from MTNL. I had similar issues with SGS4 and MTNL Mumbai sim until I changed the sim card itself. Hard to explain but it solved my issue. It was very old sim which I cut using sim cutter.
Not facing any issue with 2G signal at all. There are areas in certain areas where I have to go (mainly basement) where there is no 3G and 2G works just fine on EDGE.

So you mean to say there is no problem with the handset, cos it worked with MTNL. ??
But it's not working with MTNL and Airtel.....and yes Airtel SIM is very old i mean it's around 3 years old sim.
Thanks !!
The sim card issues in cases of cut sim cards is well documented to be honest. No matter how well we cut it, sometimes they just dont work right on these newer phones. Over last 1 year I had to get new micro sim for most of my and my family member's numbers as one fine day the cut sim will simply not catch network and then realised the common problem with them all. All of them were cut either using micro sim template by hand or using sim cutters. After getting proper micro sim, the problem went away. This is not specific to One but happens with lot of new phones that require micro sim including Nexus 4, SGS4 and Nexus 7 3G tablets.

Working Everything (NEEDED!)

Hi guys I'm new here to xda. Recently, I've just completed rooting my HTC one and s-off. I currently have the eclipticone rom installed but have NO DATA. Once I turn off the wifi I can't do anything on the internet or receive emails. Is there any roms out there for the HTC one with working everything for sprint?
Hi,
Maybe it's better to take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2215 ?

I think I saw a download for Sprint on PAC ROM , but I may be mistaken. I would first look there and then maybe look at the CM ROM. Good luck.

You did something wrong. Ecliptic in the Sprint forum is 100% working. As most of the ROMs are.

Good news everyone I've solved the problem. Some how my radio signal was set to LTE/Cdma. Sprint said when set to this it trys to pick up LTE or 4g first before picking up cdma.

Would you mind telling me where you are located geographically? I too recently discovered this setting must be set to CDMA only in my area. It's SUPPOSED to connect to 3G when no LTE is available, but for some reason that's not working in my area. And this is a very recent change. About 12 days ago I lost data and it took 3 or 4 days of reboots, reflashes, and phone calls to Sprint before *I* fixed it myself by selecting CDMA only. Sprint never bothered to suggest the change because it's not supposed to matter. I'm baffled by this so it occurred to me you might be in the same area as me.

Would you mind narrowing it down a bit? Are you in one of the areas served by nTelos? In central and SW VA, there are many areas that do not actually use Sprint towers. Sprint has some sort of partnership with nTelos and I happen to live in one of those areas. I have seen info that indicates nTelos will begin rolling out its 4G network in the latter half of 2013 and it occurred to me that the sudden necessity to set the phone to CDMA Only might be related to the early stages of this roll out. Almost as if they have started the process and are transmitting some sort of partial signal that makes the phone think there is a valid 4G connection, which therefore prevents it from looking for a 3G signal. I may be grasping at straws, but after switching to Sprint 3+ years ago on the promise of "the nations first 4G network" AND paying an extra $10 for the privilege, I would REALLY like to finally have access to something better than Sprint's abysmal service in Charlottesville. :crying:
More info on this subject can be found here:

Your towers may be broadcasting CDMA eHRPD (basically EvDo with an extra layer to help handoff between 4G and 3G). I discovered that with the SIM card in my phone being defective, I could not get data from any towers in my area even on 3G. This was confusing to me because I thought that the SIM card was only for 4G data. When I went to check the network type under the about area in settings, it said CDMA - eHRPD. When I switched my phone to CDMA only, the network type changed to CDMA - EvDo Rev A and my data started to work.
If you are using a phone with a broken SIM this could be the problem. My phone did tell me that the SIM card was not detected though, so I knew it was a problem from the beginning. Your issues could be with the towers in your area instead if your SIM is fine.
Also, there are rumors that Sprint may overbuild into nTelos territory since nTelos was not being obedient to Sprint's demands in rolling out NV at the start. This would be good for me as I travel up central VA once a year or so

Very interesting, thanks for the info! To cloud matters even more, the ROM I'm running right now, a 4.2.2 Sense 5 concoction, doesn't even *HAVE* a CDMA Only option.
And you're right about eHRPD, my phone is reporting that as well. Funny thing is, even without the ability to select CDMA Only, I'm having no problem at all with data now. Oh and one more thing that may or may not matter, I flashed a hacked PRL that forces roaming on VZW, so maybe it only works because I'm not even using nTelos' network at the moment.
All I know is that I want Sprint to get their $hit together in this area so I don't have to jump through hoops just to get reasonable service.

[Q] Do all 801n have LTE capibility?

Hi
I got a One and it is an 801n. I have seen posts with people with that model having LTE and others not. Is it the software which isn't showing up the LTE or is it actually the hardware? Also a couple of spec sites say the n has LTE which is slightly confusing :L

The UK supports LTE, my network 3 is releasing it at no extra cost in December which is one of the reasons i wanted to know really. Thanks for the answer!.
Also i did that *#*456*#* (Not that but it was something along those lines) and it had LTE in that list, but it doesn't show up in the phone settings. Looking around it could be to do with the APN settings, would you agree with this?

I've spoken to a three rep before. I'm like you. Once lte rolls out in December, they'll push little updates to compatible phones to enable the lte functionality. It will most likely update the apn as you described. But your phone is definitely lte compatible if it was bought in the UK. Lte reception is a combo of phone/sim/provider.

Can I use my Sprint HTC One M8 on international GSM networks?

We all know that the HTC One M8 has a sim card tray. And I plan on going to the Philippines next month and use Smart's network in the Philippines for a month. Is it possible with the Sprint Version? I know its possible with the Verizon M8.

Yes, it has the correct frequency to run voice/data in Philippines. It needs Nano-Sim. You'll need to sim unlock your phone. Do your research on this.
I haven't tested method:
http://androidnews.co.in/2014/04/10/sim-unlock-htc-one-m8-free/
As we all know sprint will unlock it after staying with them for 90 days, but more often than not an alternative method is needed. There is a working method for the M7 that i have tried. I would be interested if anyone had any luck in unlocking the sprint M8.

Once you SIM-unlock, you should be able to get some HSPA data, but since the carriers there only offer LTE on 1800 and 2100 MHz, you won't get 4G.

hi guys about to order a Nexus6 off amazon/bestbuy!? (carrier question)

I just want to make something really sure before i order it ,to start it of with my question i woudl like to know whether it will work with the Sim card (network carrier in where i live) i am from the Middle East,
and our carrier here has that GSM service thingie xD sorry for being so noobish.
i want to get the Nexus 6 over the new Moto x Pure mainly because of how much dev. support and how many Roms are already out for the Nexus 6.
what is the difference between the so called international version ?
anyway if i buy it from here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R1984DI?gwSec=1&redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_p107_d0_i1

The difference will be in the LTE bands. If you have LTE where you live in the middle east then the one you linked, which is the US model, likely won't get LTE there. It should work fine on H, H+, GPRS and Edge though.
