Firmware flashing .zip extension - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/list-pre-rooted-firmwares-6-oct-2015-t3218820
Above the link there is prerooted firmwares. I want to flash 6.0.1 firmware by using flashtool but when I choose flashmode, flashtool could not see the firmware. It is in zip format. I opened and extracted the fw but nothing changed. I changed the extension to .ftf but no change occured.
How can I install firmware by using the link above?
Can you help?

How to flash
Important: Make a backup before flashing!
Download and copy the pre-rooted firmware into the micro SDcard
Reboot your phone, boot into the recovery before the phone boot into Android OS (if you knew how to do it). If you using XZDualRecovery, press VOL DOWN to boot into TWRP or VOL UP to boot into CWM after your phone vibrate twice. I recommended TWRP!
Wipe /data, /dalvik-cache, and /cache (recommended)
Open "Install ZIP" and go to the location where you copied the firmware
Boot your phone. It will take 10 minutes to boot for the first time

I am searching how to install twrp. Sony devices are reAlly interesting. With My old Samsung device and with odin I can make everyhing. But in sony unlock bootloader, use twrp, Adb, flashtool, many many steps. I am trying to understand them.
Now I am trying to understand how to install twrp in unrooted device. Forum has many Threads but nothing is in order.

[Q] Cant into recovery & Stuck in Bootloop on unlocked device

I want to flash a CM11 into my tablet, so I unlocked bootloader.(Devise's Build Number: Version V10.26.1.18 )
------> I flashed a CWMrecovery 6.0.4.5 into it .
----- > I reboot to bootloader can't get into recovery, so i select a full wipe in bootloader.
------>Tablet stucked in boot screen. I can't flash anything into it, because i can't get into bootloader & recovery(Even use Vol - &Power Button).
How can i get into bootloader again?
Or recovery?
Or flash a Offical rom back into it without recovery?
Unfortunately wiping from the boot loader on a custom recovery can hard brick the device. 6.0.4.5 is very old, the latest cwm is 6.0.5.1.
Try flashing that from the boot loader.
But how can get into bootloader?
I have try press Vol Down & Power button, it didn't work, and my computer said “< waiting for device >“。
Is it possible to connect with PC once more?
Try the SD card stock update method
see if this works... this is the best method I have seen to recover the TF701T. Try the manual SD card update method by downloading the correct firmware for your device first from Asus. then see if there is a zip inside of a zip file if so unpack it once. Rename the zip file to T4_SDUPDATE.zip and put the zip firmware file on the root of the SD card and power on or restart your device. it should detect a firmware update. this is the procedure I used when I bought my tablet.
I updated my tablet to the latest stock firmware before I UNLOCKED and installed the latest CWM recovery. Then I booted into stock and shut down then did a full backup of stock, then I flashed custom ROM and latest SuperSU... if you find this helpful, please click the Thanks button below!

Sorry mate, the only way to get into the bootloader is with Power and Vol Down. If that does not work you cannot access fastboot, you cannot access recovery and the tablet is a brick. Only a new mainboard can revive it.
I am not sure, if bootloader located in SPI flash it is not very difficult to reprogram it with external programmer.

need help, mucked up during installing cm11

I have a Sony Xperia Z1 and I have had cyanogenmod12.1 on my device for a little while now, but there are a couple of bugs and I wanted to go back to cyanogenmod11, so I downloaded the cm11 zip file onto my device and copyed it to the sd card,I then downloaded TWRP manager because the cyanogenmod recvoary does not have a zip file or flash part in the recovary, so I followed the procedures and then I flashed TWRP recovary. Once I got into the TWRP recovary I found the zip file for cm11 I then clicked flash. Not long later it said succesfull and then i had to reboot, i clicked reboot and this is where it whet wrong. My device then went into a bootloop because I left my device for 10mins. I then tried to access the custom recovary but it just came up with the sony logo and no custom recovary has come up since.

Hello,
I have reported this thread to be moved to the right Q&A so that experts there maybe able to help.

If you made a backup, flash dual recovery then restore the backup?
Otherwise flash stock and start again
The only solution is to flash your firmware and start from zero point
Since you said there is bootloop and no recovery
Or you can flash twrp img file through fastboot mode
But for safety flash is best
You do not need to do a fresh flash. Doing so without deselected some things might wipe data like photos.
1. If you don't already have the fastboot and ADB drivers, get them here
2. Download a kernel with recovery and extract the boot.img
3. Open up command prompt in the folder the boot.img is in
4. Make sure your device is turned off completely
5. Hold volume down while attaching it to your computer
6a. If you just want to have temporary acces to recovery type in this code:
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
6b. If you want to keep acces and use the recovery after rebooting type in this code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
7. Enter recovery the way you would normally do, backup your important files and/or flash the new rom and kernel you would like to use

HELP ! Phone won't boot after rooting

Hey guys so I'm panicking right now, so I just unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and rooted my phone but now the phone won't boot it's just stuck at the boot icon with the two circles chasing each other, am I screwed and is my phone useless now ?
Don't worry, this is a common problem that occurs when you use an older version of SuperSU.
Flash SuperSU v2.79 to root. You won't even have to reflash the OS. Your phone should reboot once during the booting process.
Alternatively, you can reflash the stock OS and root with Magisk v11.1, which will also root your phone.

Okay so can you tell me how to remove 2.78 before I flash 2.79 ? thanks
You don't need to remove it. Flashing the newer one should replace the older one. I had the same problem when I first rooted following a slightly outdated guide. Flashing the newest version fixed it without a problem.

My phone isn't showing up on my pc as a removable storage and when I type adb devices my phone isn't showing up either
If you have a usb-C OTG adapter, the easiest way is to copy it onto a flash drive and flash from the drive in TWRP.
TWRP should also have a way of mounting your phone to your PC, though I've personally never managed to get it to work.
Also, I believe adb works while you're in recovery mode. You can use adb to push the superSU zip to your phone's internal storage. If you aren't sure how to use adb, the toolkit consolidates all of the useful commands together.

I managed to flash 2.79 but I don't think it worked, still stuck booting, will leave it for a few minutes though to see if anything changes, any suggestions if that wasn't the issue ?
Dirty flash whatever version of OOS you're on, wipe delvic/cache, then immediately flash SuperSU without rebooting recovery.

1) Download the full ROM of OOS from OnePlus (ignore their instructions, they are assuming that you have the stock recovery installed).
2) Transfer the full zip onto your phone.
3) Boot into TWRP
4) Find where you've put the full ROM on your internal storage and flash it
5) Once TWRP finishes flashing it, tap the "wipe dalvik/cache" button, DO NOT REBOOT (if you reboot at this point, your TWRP will be replaced with stock recovery)
6) Press back on TWRP, find your SuperSU.zip and flash that
7) Reboot
This process replaces any non-user files that may have been damaged. You won't lose any data or the apps that you have downloaded. This will replace the recovery with stock if you do not root immediately before rebooting.

K3 Note bootlooping to TWRP only

I had Resurrection rom installed in my K3 note and needed to sell the phone. So performed a complete wipe of the internal storage and tried to install AICP rom later (TWRP), it shows flashed successfully, but whenever I am booting my phone, it always boots to recovery only. Downloaded the SP flash tool to go back to stock rom with stock firmware, but as soon as I plug my phone woth my laptop with the USB cable, (which is switched off at this moment) after clicking the download option in the SP Flash tool, it just again boots back to recovery and the stock firmware's download never happens because my phone has booted into recovery. So i guess no use of SP Flash tool too.
I am able to connect my phone to my laptop and can see my internal storage and i can transfer files too.
Any help,?
Current rom flashed via TWRP - AICP v4.2 and Gapps micro (arm 64, pico) (Still stuck in booloop to TWRP only )
I am having the same issue! I've selected to restore factory settings and bam, it boots only to TWRP, I've tried to flash it with new rr rom (09.2017) but it is without any improvement still TWRP.
I think I'll try to do things like I did when changing it from stock model.
My phone TWRP-looped many times. The solution is actually easy.
1. Reflash using SPFlashtool ONLY the stock recovery
2. boot into stock recovery
3. choose english > press reboot phone
4. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
5. reflash TWRP
cheers
or
1. Copy stock recovery.img into sdcard
2. In twrp, select Install and navigate to where you put stock recovery.img
3. Press install image. Then, Select recovery.img. Slide to install
4. boot into stock recovery
5. choose english > press reboot phone
6. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
7. reflash TWRP
DONE
what button combination to boot into fastboot

Try again flash 4 file frimware and let device start to system after that reboot to download mod and flash vbmeta.tar and let your device start to system
After that reboot to stock recovery and wipdata and cach and reboot to download mod and now flash twrp
The wrong is with your bootloader if you cant fix it try to search your problem in google
You are not only one have this problem
I did every thing from scratch. Even lock and unlock the bootloader.
I am tring to make sence. Vbmeta is "verified boot". So the idea is trick the phone with our own bootloader so that we can flash twrp.
Since i cant flash twrp, vbmeta should be updated.
Am i right?

Unlock bootloader, factory reset, unsure oem is unlocked and grayed out in settings >developer options.
Then flash vbmeta, manual reboot to download mode, flash twrp, boot to twrp, factory reset in twrp , flash magisk zip then factory reset again, now boot system.
The vbmeta you flash is empty and allows flashing third party zips.
Hiii, i did almost everthing, but when i boot in recovery and go to mount, system partition read-only is checked. already tried 4 for times reboot to recovery but still checked.
Yes, i slide right to allow to modify. Any suggestion ?

Go ahead with the steps. Ignore mount system.
Let's see what happens
Worst scenario, you soft brick the phone or bootloop which can be fixed by flashing stock rom again.
Make sure you have stock rom and you backup your data
Any way to pass SatefyNet?
Instal this path in Magisk:
