Is there a voice dial app that can search the transferred Bluetooth contacts of a phone?
I know that google voice can search contacts in google contact list or contacts of "True contact app". Google contact list doesn't include the transferred phone contacts through Bluetooth connection.
It seems that there is no such an app.
On some cars (e.g..), voice command can call contacts of a phone connected with Bluetooth.
If there is such an app, it is very convenient to have different phones connected to MTCB/MTCD head unit, the google contact list or "true contact app" is not need anymore.

Guys, one stupid question.
Is there any way to customiz the Google contact sync. IE: I dont want to sync all my contacts from my gmail account. I know there is contact display options in ICS 4.0.4, But if we search any contact will appears all contact.
The reason is: in my car Bluetooth callers name is not showing, only number showing for most contacts. But some are showing as name especially starting with A,B,C,D..
after investigation found my car stereo + Bluetooth (pioneer) will support hug contacts in Bluetooth.
I remember there was an option for this in old ROM (2.3.x or...).
Advise please...

I have tried refreshing everything but my Google voice contacts are not syncing. All I can see are the phone numbers I have for people. So when I want to text someone from my tablet I cant search their name I have to start the text from my android phone. How do I get my contact names to appear?
Hello,
I like the way the contacts/people app links the contacts from different sources. For this purpose, I have several accounts syncing contacts (Exchange, Google, Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter) but only Exchange filtered to show up in the addressbook. When I connect my HTC with my Audi A3, ALL contacts are shown in the car's phonebook. You can imagine that this becomes unreadable (duplicate contacts, useless contacts from Twitter/Google, ...)
How can I force my HTC only to send/show the filtered phonebook on my car's bluetooth phone directory?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Quentin
I am really stumped here...
When I first installed the NEX, my contacts where being sync'd from iCloud to my mobile devices via "Smoothsync for Cloud Contacts". This has always worked flawlessly and when I first paired my phone, the contacts were instantly read by the Pioneer and shown in its phone book.
But... I noticed that I could not send a hangout message to any of my contacts using the voice command. Evidently there is some required profile info Google applies behind the scenes to "Google" contacts that was not present in my "iCloud to Contacts" method of getting contacts from my Mac to my Android devices.
So, I moved my contacts to "Google Contacts", removed the Smoothsync account from my phone (removing my contacts from "Contacts"), and enabled syncing from my Google account. After a fresh sync, my contacts were once again displayed in the "Contacts" app, and within a few minutes I could send hangouts messages using the voice commands without getting the annoying "no profile" error.
But then I notice that only the "Me" contact is shown in the Pioneer's phone book. I delete the pairing on both devices, reboot, clear cache, re-pair, etc, etc, etc, and no change. I then edit my "Me" record on the phone and reconnect to the Pioneer and the edits are seen by the Pioneer... so it is obviously connecting to and reading from the phone contact's.
I then create a new contact on the phone, just to rule out something being munged by the contacts now in Google Contacts synced from my Mac, reconnect to the Pioneer, and still just the "Me" entry.
I can also export my contacts to a vcf file and send that over bluetooth to the Pioneer and they imported properly, so nothing seems to be munged with the data.
Now I know that I don't really need this, but the fact that it is behaving unexpectedly is driving me NUTS (I know, OCD)!
PLEASE... someone who is familiar with this mechanism... help me figure this out.
Thanks!
I bought the 128gb / 6GB unlocked Chinese version. It works well in the UK on 4G (Three network) but there are a couple of niggles:
1. Voice input from stock keyboard does not work. Clicking the microphone does nothing. Installing a third party keyboard like GBoard does not even show the microphone. Another third party keyboard shows the icon but with the microphone greyed out.
I cannot figure how to resolve this as there are no options under language input settings or within individual keyboards.
2. Google Contacts are not being synced to the phone contacts. Going into the accounts section of stock contacts app does not show the google account. Trying to subsequently add it just tells me that this account exists on the phone.
Any help appreciated.
BTW - other than this, it is an outstanding phone.
