Cyanogenmod 13 battery life on Mi 5 - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hi!
I'm wondering if anybody else has issues with battery life on CM 13 (+ Google Apps for Android 6.0.1). I already checked this post, but it refers mostly to the official ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/discussion-xiami-mi-5-battery-life-t3338693
I installed the newest 0910 update 2 days ago, but my battery only lasts for about 20 hours on standby. I do have a few apps that do background stuff, but I never had issues with those on CM 12 with my old Sony Xperia ZL. (The apps are Messenger, Whatsapp, Facebook, Dropbox and Weatherbug if you wonder.) The battery stats don't reveal much.

I hope the battery life will improve soon now that the kernel source for Mi 5 has been released.
Also big kudos to bgcngm and Mi5Devs for maintaining the builds, shade.sh for providing the earlier builds and the CM team for creating such a great ROM.

[Q] CM10.1 Android OS Battery Drain

When I install any CM10.1 ROM, it has decent battery performance but as it gets older (and more apps installed), Android OS starts sucking more than 50% of the battery. The battery life reduces to around 1.5hours of screen ON time.
I've tried almost every ROM for CM 10.1 and problem is consistent. How Do I fix it?
Following screenshot is for battery overnight (screen not turned ON at all in 8hours and battery dropped by 20%)

Check for the Google backup feature. It could be using the battery and data usage.

Do u have any antivirus installed? Or spyware apps? Maybe its the cause of that.
The consumption of Miui in idle mode is high, custom kernel improves a little. For fix, only custom Rom + custom kernel.
MIUI is crap. So many bloatware. You never know which system app is running in the background to monitor all your activities and draining battery as a result. I would suggest you to switch to an AOSP based custom ROM. There are a lot of amazing custom ROMs available for our device. Just make sure not to use an MIUI based custom ROM or else the result will be pretty much the same as now.

Question How to get new rounded Gboard from Android 12?

Hi, anyone know how to get this new style Gboard on MIUI? I had it when i tested couple of Android 12 Rom's, but i just don't get why it isn't available on MIUI, or even on ONE UI. Even now that i installed MIUI 13 beta with Android 12 Gboard still has old design, but i'm noticing newer design in other Google apps like Chrome, etc..
Tried everything, even joining beta releases.. it's strange since i tried installing APK's with the same build number as the one that should have new design.

Question Poor gaming experience after december updates

Hi! Have you noticed bad gaming experience after recent updates? Previously I was able to reach about 40+ FPS on Geshin Impact (highest settings) but nowadays barely 30 FPS. I am using dynamic profile since Performance is even worse. Benchmark scores are also lower.
Software version is 31.1004.0404.81 and there is not newer OTA. Updated manually from Android 11 to 12. You can find example videos from channel (check signature).
There was a new OTA released like last week, you can manually update to it if you want to test it (Android12: .0404.92)
Installed .92 update but it did not help. Performance is still bad.

P.S. the screenshot is from days ago, VLC was draining my battery too before I managed to fix it by clearing app data
I'm running PE Plus May build and I'm also facing this issue for the past two days...
This fixed it for me
