Planning to buy a Galaxy Note 4 in 2016? - Galaxy Note 4 General

hey guys, i need some of your help, i will buy a note 4 in these days, is still worth buying?
If yes, what model? the snapdragon quadcore or the exynos octacore? which of them have more development for stable roms like a note 7 port to the note 4?
Please i need your opinions, thank you

Won't recommend it this late, especially when the likes of OnePlus 3 is out there, sorry. Also there is HTC 10. The only reason you should get the Note 4 is if you are getting it at a really low price. I love my Note 4, but a phone running TouchWiz, well it still runs TouchWiz. But if S Pen is a mandatory thing to you then you can't go anywhere else except the Note 4, that's true too.
Exynos all the way, if you don't wish for them AOSP based ROMs.

I don't agree, this is my fourth Note 4. Thought I could replace it with LG G4, no way. Thougth I could replace it with Oneplus 3, no way. Yeah, The OP3 is snappier, but thats it, everything else is better on Note 4.

I voted yes. I actually just ordered one yesterday, Due to arrive tomorrow. I was between a rock and a hard place when I made my decision. Seeing as the new notes all have a lot of nice features and speed improvement. The reason I decided on the note 4 is of course the note features as compared to other things like the lg g4 the oneplus etc. And my second biggest reason is that it's the last of the note series to have svlte. Meaning if i'm at a store and someone calls me I can still use data without needing wifi. All newer phones "at least on verizon" do not allow this unless you have volte I think. Problem is I use all my phones on prepaid and verizon won't allow prepaid users to use advanced calling. So if you're on verizon prepaid then the note 4 is for you. If you're on contract or just don't care about svlte then I say get a newer note. note 5 major drawbacks to me. no svlte. no sd card. no removable battery. note 7 drawbacks. no removeable battery and still very expensive.

I agree, the only reason why i dont choose the note 5 over the note 4 is for the sd card slot, and i dont get the note 7 becouse it is too way expensive.
I would choose the OP3 over the note 4 of course, but it doesnt have sd card slot, and there is only a variant of 64 gb
And i dont buy phones with mobile contract lol

Ohh and another question, which is the variant tag of the note 4 exynos octacore?

I've had my N910C for about a year now and it's probably the best device I've ever had. I got it shortly last year after the SGS6 series was released and when the specs of the Note 5 were announced. If I do end up upgrading it will probably be to a Note 7 as Note 4 are now very hard to find in brand new condition.

C and U are the tags which stated that you have a Exynos 5433 Octocore device.

I recently bought a refurb TMo Note 4 that went for cheap to use as a backup phone to my Nexus 6P. The last Samsung phone I had was a S4 and I was disillusioned with Samsung since the S3 and very critical of their software, so I only used Motorola and Nexus since. I have opened many phones brands to see their internals including Huawei, HTC, Motorola, ZTE, Samsung and Apple. I'm never impressed with Samsung internal build quality including this Note 4, which I think is cheap considering how much it cost during release. (My opinion, you don't have to get offended.)
I didn't expected to like the S-Pen features so much, along with multitask and pop out feature. This is pretty important to me, to be able watch a video while doing something else at the same time. I can do this with third party apps on the Nexus, I like the fact it's built in for the Note. With Root, Adaway, Nova Launcher, XPosed (reluctantly) the phone is pretty smooth and while not super snappy as my Nexus 6P, it certainly isn't slow. Another important Samsung feature I like is the Game Tuner and this pretty much eliminate the performance issue since I can play games at 720p/1080p and get good framerates. Again I can lower the screen res on my Nexus as well, except this is built in and it only affect selected apps which is much more convenient. Basically, the Note have all the features I wanted built in that I would have to go through extra steps to make available on my Nexus. Did I mentioned removable battery, sdcard and IR blaster?
The only downside for the phone is the finger print scanner is crap, but Smart Unlock works for me so it's not a problem. Other minor issue is the GPS sucks, I had to open up the phone which scared me a bit actually, but I managed to bend that GPS gold contact point upward a bit, now the signal is great.
So I sold the 6P to pay some bills and using the Note 4 as my daily driver. I think the whole Note 7 recall might work in my favor if it cause the phone price to go down faster, then I might upgrade to the Note 7 rather than getting the the new Google Pixel phone.
I forget to mention T-Mobile WiFi Calling works perfectly and stays connected all the time with this phone, a huge deal. For whatever reason it's always disconnect on the Nexus 6P and with Android 7 update it got worse.

Disagree, I recently bought 2x Note 4's for around 260€ a piece plus shipping and both are as new! So if you look around carefully you can find them for a reasonable price in as new condition...
Looking at ebay.de/co.uk and you will find good examples.
I would even go further that if they have some minor scratches on the frame, go and buy yourself a new frame. Replacing the frame is easy as is replacing the display assy...

Hi there,
I voted "YES" too.
I have one already (one Month old) and two more for the rest of the family coming this way. Why you may ask?
I need the S-Pen features, I wan't to be able to replace the battery (switch it in 2 min and 100% battery again), I'm using the SM-N9100 dual sim together with the MicroSD card (can't do that with Note 5 or Note7).
Finally the main reason (Price), I have friends in China that can buy it at 280€ , although locked to China SIM's but with a 10min call (using China SIM) and no problem at all using other Region SIM's ever.
It has a CHC rom (China and English) but using ODIN we can easily load the TGY Multi Language ROM with Gapps (Stock) and not triggering the KNOX warranty flag...
PS: The only downside points (by choosing the DualSIM N9100 version) are :
- The lack or Custom Roms (for example 6.0.1 not yet available "officially" in the TGY variant, maybe a few weeks from now since the CHC is "Finally" out).
- Smaller battery (3000 vs 3220).
- Less storage (16GB vs 32GB).
- Only Snapdragon, no Exynos option for dual sim.
- No FDD LTE band 20, but on the plus side we do have more bands for TDD side (traveling).
but unfortunately I really need the "DualSIM" feature .
PS: In China I saw the non-dual sim version at a even lower price (250€). Imagine buying three units at the same cost of the latest Note7. Can't beat the features/price ratio, especially packed with a amazing 5.7 inch 2K super Amoled screen . And I'm not talking about Refurbishing units.
Thanks,
Regards,

Depends ... the note 4 has a fine hardware, but the software (espacially updates) sucks. The note 4 is the first smartphone I never would get again. Don't get me wrong - really, the hardware is awesome, but the software (even with alternative) is just so bad. I came from a google nexus 2 years back and will get a nexus again.
Also I guess the note 4 won't get any more software updates, after the note 5 and 7 are out by now. I would suggest you wait till google releases their new nexus / pixel phones and look at the 6p then. My wife has the nexus 6p and I'm quite jealous - all that what I wanted the note 4 to be if you dont calc in the missing pen. Even the cam is better then the note 4 IMHO. And it will drop in price then.
Oh, and for what I don't like about the software ... it's slow and hangs from time to time. Also some Apps from Samsung are just bad like SVoice ... google now is much better in comparsion. If you ever used a pure android, you know what I mean. Also the additional apps like FB are something I don't want. Then there's the problem with the knox triggering when rooting (could result in a warranty dismissal) and so on. Or some random restarts with stock firmware (right now stock DBT snapdragon). Or the really bad finger print sensor. The Pen stuff is awesome and the OCR works like magic. But I use it quite rarely so it doesn't outweigh the cons.
Also I couldn't find any alternative rom that was working for me (too much stuff in it, too slow, to instabile, you name it) or with cm the health sensors not working and some other samsung stuff.
And to be a bit more clear, after I had some other samsung devices in my hands ... never again a samsung for me personally. Only the best phones get updates for more then like 6 months and new features don't reach the phones ever. Also it seems like there are 20 software engineering camps withing samsung, all working against each other...
But really, this is my personal, strong subjective feeling about the phone - if you like it or not, depends on how it works for you. For me there are too many things that anger me, mostly small things like I mentioned above. Might be it's different for you. Read some more reviews on amazon, even the bad ones.

You could set your priorities and then decide, OP.
Hardware: Note 4 is still decent, but much newer chipset and better chipset are out there.
Software: As far as TouchWiz goes, no comment there. But with a little bit of tweaking (by choosing performance over battery) you could the nice enough performance. But never to the level of HTC 10 and OnePlus 3. Read Anand's review of Note 7 and see the section where they compared the frame rates with HTC 10. TouchWiz lags mate, its as simple as that.
Camera + Display: Display is excellent, and camera is decent enough too.
S Pen: No competition there, again.
Build: Note 4 is the very LAST phone in Samsung's lineup where Samsung used practical materials to come up with a mobile phone. Now all of them are jewellery.
Price: Like I said in my previous comment, if you could get it at good price, which is somewhere around 25-30% lower than OnePlus 3's then "maybe" you could get it.

The note 4 is still a great device I still have my tmo 910t device i just ordered the 910c for exynos which is a little snappier than the snapdragon all the devices in my sig. i still own and use but for a few. I haven't added another note 5c and s6 edge plus to my sig yet. But the note 4 will keep up with those other devices for the age. if you want a loud ringing phone note 4 is it.. The note 5 isnt as loud as the note 4 or the note 3 for that matter..

I currently have a Note 4 on the Verizon network.. Plus it is snapper than most, plus it can handle anything I throw at it app wise.. Never over heats or crahses.. The Note 5 and seven both have none removal batteries, and that is a draw back for me.. Plus it still has volte, and the newer ones do not.. I also have the Droid Turbo on Verizon.. What I do not like, is before I installed a custom rom, the battery would drain, and constantly needed to be charge.. Plus it would over heat a lot and freeze.. I would consider another Note 4 if I needed one.. But when the Note 4 is payed off, I plan on getting any Samsung device or another brand all together.. It will depend on price, and development..

Why do you prefer Samsung Galaxy Note series?

Samsung has sold over 60 million Galaxy Note devices over the past three years.
What is the main reason why you prefer the Galaxy Note? Please vote and leave comments.
It's my first Note. When I saw the first Note I was like "Hell no, that phone is way too big" I thought my s3 was big enough. Flash forward 3 years after going from a 5.2" s5 to a 5.5" LG G3 and then the 5.5 yet slightly bigger OnePlus one the 5.7" Note 4 wasn't much of a stretch. I was contemplating the Nexus 6 but I felt that in terms of Phablet the Note 4 had so much more to offer for an extra 100$. So far I do have a couple of gripes but they're all software related therefore fixable. I was going to keep it as my backup device but after finding out all it can do I had a change of heart and decided to keep it as my daily driver. Note 4 FTW :good:
Went from Note 2 to Note 3, then OnePlus One, now the Note 4. OnePlus is a fine phone, especially for the price, but once you've integrated the s-pen into your daily life it's hard to go back. Every other "phablet" is a big phone and nothing more. The Note series delivers a lot of extra functionality that sets it apart and makes it more than just a big phone.
I only can choose 1 reason, but actually I've got more than 1 :
1. I like the design
2. I like the big screen & S pen
3. It came out in second half of the year, so it will get fastest update rather than other samsung phones, or it will get latest if google released the new android faster than usual
(Samsung is #1 choices in my city, great availability, great service center, and so on)
4. It has latest SoC, best specs on sheet
5. I have try them in SES in my city, and I can use a lot of its features
i have loved the first note and it only made sense to me to upgrade every year with the note series ( would have broken it with then note 4 if the edge was available lol)

It's Galaxy *Note* Edge, isn't it?
iR¡[email protected]!* from i9505 via Tapatalk 4
Multitasking.
Great screens.
S-Pen (more with Note 4 than Note 3 tbh).
Design and quality feel (more so with the Note 4 than the Note 3).
Build quality.
Camera.
Loved my Note 2, and when sprint decided to release the Note 3 non sparked i had to go elsewhere (principalities) but I'm so happy to be back in the Note family. I actually don't use the spen as much as i should but this phone is so much more then that for me. A quality device with excellent specs! And works great with my Tab S!

Note 2 - for the stylus note taking plus other Note features
Note 10.1 - Business functions with multi Windows and Note taking
Note 8 - wanted more portable Note 10 and better speed
Note 3 - really good stylus functions and multi windows. Also Wolfson sound card.
Note 10.1 2014 - replacement for my Note 10.1
Note 4 - looking to replace my Note 10.1 2014 but did not work out so looking forward to the 10.1 2015 device. Really like power and using Knox for business security

Doesn't Note 8 have the same CPU&GPU as Note 10.1?
Anyway, my Note 10.1 is very fast. The problem with it was Samsung for some reason released it with buggy firmware and all reviewers put into their reviews that it lags like hell - while the first update fix that problem altogether, the reviews stayed.
PS. And of course you have to keep some GBs free on the sdcard because otherwise it will slow down considerably. It is a known issue of most mobile devices caused by poor flash memory, I hope we will see SSDs in tablets soon.

They're all great products if exploited properly
I chose Top Performance and Multitasking e.g. the smoothness and speed of UI, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 and incredible battery performance.
But I must admit, the disappointing Galaxy S5, the metal frame of Note 4 , its jaw dropping 5.7inch display and the fact Samsung made its Note series its premium range, all had me wanting this beast to
The awesome screen is the primary reason. I liked the firm factor of my prior LG G3 better BUT not the display.
.Note 4 is much better from my experience. Also tried the IP6 Plus for 2 weeks but my sidebyside comparison for a few days says the N4 is much better screen...especially for reading Kindle books / magazines.

Well I can't single out one reason. I love the size of the screen with its great display, great performance, and the SPen! Hard to single anything out. Compared to the other phones of this caliber I'd say the SPen helped to stick out. Plus I'm not a fan of Droids, iPhones and LG phones for various reasons.
Sadly, I think the multitasking is just not as good as it should be w/o root. It only supports a few apps, so that's out! :/
All I need for it to be perfect is root :good: okay, and maybe waterproofing and 64-bit processor but really that's just being spoiled

As Note 5 is around corner and many users always prefer to follow their favorite developer to get developmental support. We know Note4 have almost no support here but looking to S 6 edge success things may be different on note 5.
So request here users and developers to cast their vote

Waiting for the S7/Note 6; I really want to see how Samsung's custom core SoC performs. Btw you should probably add "none of the above" to the survey.
The GS6 Edge PLUS WOULD be cool, but I keep seeing it has Qualcomm 808. Not sure why Samsung would downgrade, but if they did, I'll get Note 5 with 7422. Now if Samsung got all Apple on us, and use the 7420 in the Note, ill look at the Moto X or maybe the Nexus by Huawei on principle. Making the Note just a bigger Galaxy with spen is like Apple and their "s" releases.

No microsd = Note None!
Well, there are different Edge concepts out there. The Note 4 Edge and the S6 Edge. Even if it's less functional I prefer the S6 Edge for aesthetic reasons. Would I buy it? Don't think so.
Note 5, if it has a higher battery or a better backup

After owning Note 4........I would wait for something better, maybe other brands. Too many issues with Samsung:
- Bloated TWiz
- WTF Knox fuse warrenty
- extremely delayed s/w upgrades
- don't add features to old models, e.g. theme support in note 4
- No removable battery going forward
- No SD card support going forward
- probaly lot more which I can't think of now..
neither
Me neither, gonna stay with my Note 4. Can't miss my removable battery and SD slot.
Maybe it's getting time to let go of samsung and try some other flavors.
Waiting until this afternoon to make my decision. If there is no 4100mAh battery and no MicroSD then neither.
Nexus 6
Let's wait and see which markets the Note 5 will be available at... We may be surprised.
http://www.engadget.com/2015/08/13/samsung-galaxy-note-5-hands-on-preview/
So we basically knew everything already. Sigh, let's hope the note 6 fares better next year. No MicroSD, no swappable battery, no 128Gb version, only 3000mAh battery, etc. This is beyond disappointing.
Bye bye samsung ! No Micro SD, no Battery replacement, no update, Knox fuser !
I'am out !
LOL.
Note 5 has max 64 gb storage. No 128 option xD

Note 5 alternatives that are better and cheaper

My Note 4 will be my last phone from Samsung.
Now thinking of the LG G4 Pro when it comes out or there's the new Motorola X Style coming out next month for only £359.99:
http://blog.clove.co.uk/2015/08/14/pre-order-motorola-x-style-359-99-coming-september/
When you compare the specs of this phone and the price to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ 32GB – £600 including VAT (£500+VAT) 64GB – £680 including VAT (£566.67+VAT) you can see how Samsung are rapidly becoming the new Nokia.
Perhaps they shouldn't rely on 'focus groups' so much?
Don't know if cheaper but I'll be moving to LG g4 pro hopefully if it has what I want. Contract expires soon

Yes, the G Pro 4 as the lad above me said, it will be a really heavy hitter. Or...
...the previous Notes, 3 and 4.
True, no 64 bit processors, but the Note 4's camera is comparable to the one in the Note 5, also removable battery, also the same 2K screen.
The Note 3 - camera is obviously weaker, but due to the screen not being 2K, doesn't drain the battery so much, plus we have ports of the Note 4 and S6. The phone is still powerful even today. And these days it's dirt cheap.
Or if you don't care about battery life too much, wait for the new Nexuses. I'm eyeing the Nexus 5 (2015) cause rumors claim it will be Full HD screen instead of 2K + the Snapdragon 820 inside.
Thanks, Samsung, for a 3000 mAh battery in a phone that could have had 4000 easily, and this bull***t "why use your phone for longer when you can charge it faster"? F*** logic.
If my only upgrade options are with pathetic battery life, I think I'll get pathetic battery life with pure Android.
I've also read that the Nexus 5 (15) is going to have the 620 snapdragon.

I don't think we're going to see a phone with the Snapdragon 820 until 2016. I'd love to be proven wrong though. It just got announced.
Best hope we have is a G4 Pro with the full Snapdragon 810 that doesn't overheat and with all we wanted in the Note (removable battery, SD card) and of course what you would expect in a flagship (awesome screen - probably with LG it will be IPS, top end camera, and the other features). I'd love for a return to a Nexus with a removable battery and storage but I don't think that is happening.
The last LG G pro, the LG G pro 2 wasn't released for the US market. Maybe the LG G pro 3 will be different.
The LG g4 isn't really an option because it has inferior graphics performance vs the note 4 and almost no development support.
Anyway I'm going to give the Note 5 a try. If I don't like it, I have 14 days to return it.

HTC and Motorola have both done the same thing. They both removed expandable storage and then restored it.
The HTC M7 and Moto X both lacked microsd card support. The HTC restored expandable storage in the M8 and M9 while motorola restored it in the Moto X style.
The best alternative to the Note 5? You already own it, it's called the Note 4!
With that said, if you really don't need the Wacom pen (I do), I'd also have suggested the LG G4 or the Moto X Style/Pure if you can also do without a removable battery, with the latter's strongest selling point being that it works on just about any network you can imagine, no countless variants with locked-out bands like everyone who isn't Apple or Google tends to do.
I still don't believe the LG G4 Pro is a thing until it gets officially announced, but if they stop faffing about with capacitive styluses and put a proper Wacom digitizer in there, they're gonna steal all of the Galaxy Note users ticked off by the Note 5 in one fell swoop.

I'm using a Note 3 and its wonderful. I bought TWO Note 1's. The first one got flakey after a year and I didn't like the Note 2 cause of the narrower screen so I got another Note 1. Now I've upgraded to the Note 3 and the software (AryaMod 7.2 + a kernel with memory compression) is really maturing, I have a 128GB SD which I'll soon upgrade to 200GB, 256GB or 512GB depending on prices at the end of the year. The Note 3 was the great leap forward.
The Note 4 was an incremental step over the Note 3. I bit of a step backwards losing USB 3.0. But otherwise its a Note 3+
The Note5 is an evil degenerative troll. They should just cancel it and wait till next year.
Hopefully sales will be so bad that they will be compelled to release a fixit version of the Note 5 with SD, and either removable battery or make the silly thing water proof to give you a reason the battery can't be removed.
The Note5 is an abomination. Stick with the Note 3 or 4 till the Note 6 comes out.

Really I think it will be a good phone, one of the best on the market but for note4 and s6 owners this phone won't be a straight upgrade more of a sidegrade, where you sacrifice some functionality for other functionality. It shouldn't have been, it should have a clear upgrade
The Note 5 has a lot of competition
The Huawei Mate 8 is launching next month.
Add this to the growing list of Note 5 alternatives:
http://vinereport.com/article/huawei.mate.8.mate.8.to.be.officially.released.in.ifa.new.phone.will.have.front.facing.led.flash.for.front.cam/2344.htm
That mate 8 phone sounds really impressive but these phones need to have some kinda pen especially since their bigger .. I hope the g4 pro ends up releasing
Biggest problem is every damn phone out there have somefunction wich is missing compared to N4
Exempel. Most phones dont have IR like moto
Removabale battery
The S pen and muti window
Support for my Gear S
No wireless charging
And other small stuff... So whatever damn phone i look at is missing functions
Im stickning with my N4 and dont know why we all Gotta chnage phones..mine is great.
Btw. Note 3 owners. Uppgrade to N4 i have them both at Home and n4 is better and worth it.

For me, the main festure I want that Samsung has now failed on with both the Note 4 and Note 5, is a larger screen than my Note 3. All the things they did taking steps backwards with the Note 5, is just adding insult to injury for me. I don't care what the hell was in the phone, if it still a has a "small ass" 5.7 inch screen, I don't want it. Now I'm completely ready to jump to another manufacturer, after having the original Note and then Note 3, as long as someone comes out with a high end phone with a larger screen than 5.7 inches.

I definitely agree in that the Note 3 was the biggest leap forward, given the jump to 1080p, USB 3.0, S800, IR blaster and so forth.
The Note 4 lost USB 3.0, ambient temp and humidity sensors for whatever dumb reason, but I do like the fast charge, pen tilt sensitivity and Gear VR it brought to the table. It probably helped that I was coming from an S3 (would've been a Note 2 if I had my way); coming from a Note 3, you'd gain a lot less, even losing a little.
But you'd lose a lot less than going to the Note 5. Samsung really screwed us this time, and I can only hope they realize their error by bringing back everything with the Note 6.

Anything similar to the note 4 and 5?

Im planning to upgrade and was wondering if there are any similar phones that are like the note 4 and the 5 . What I'm saying is that I want the latest and greatest device that has great battery life, micro sd slot, removable back, fast charging, a good camera, good software and BEAST specs. LG v10 is a good alternative but only has 3000 mah battery... Also don't like the 2 front cameras, and the secondary screen... It's weirdly useless is someways and, hard to reach.... I mean I would get the note 4 but I don't like the fingerprint scanner it has, the old touchwiz, and it's a year old device. Not sure what to get.. Any suggestions?...
Nothing out there that will match the Note 5 unfortunately.
Nexus 6p?
Nexus 6p has been facing a lot of flak for the quality. In fact I cancelled my pre order for it & it was over a month without confirmed dispatch dates. Also the screen has issues.
I upgraded from Note 4 to Note 5 due to cracked screen. The new Touchwiz is lite. What is important is whether the pen functionality is important for you. I use it as my primary note taking device in meetings.
To make it simple. If you can wait for a bit & dont require pen funtionality the Nexus 6p will be a good choice as they will sort out the build in their coming batches.
Note 5 is the most powerful device right now. I would suggest it over note 4 only because you will get faster update than note 4. Rest device is almost same.

Thing about 6p is that it uses the snapdragon 810 processor, which is known to have overheating issues.. Speaking of processors; The 820 is almost here. So I'll probably wait and get the s7...

I tried the 810 in a one plus 2. I never saw any sign of overheating. It looked to me last Le a great platform. I just prefer the Spen and Note Screen so moved up to a note 5. Must sell the OP2 sometime......!
Edit - I should add that the V10 looks interesting to me – I might have gone for it if it weren't for the note 5

Who still use Note 5 in 2019?

Hi.
As in subject.
I have Note 5 from 2017. Few monuth ago i buyed Note 9- overall of course better from 5 but Note 5 is still good phone. I back to five for few days. For me better from Note 9 is s-pen. He is thicker, more massive than note 9.
Next is flat screen. Definitely writing is more comfortable.
Then is overall looking and colour front and back. My is Gold platinum. In light looking silver-white and anyway isn't booring like all new samsung phones from s8- all black front.
My note still working in last stock 7.0. I flashed last build for TUR from end 2018. Now i can make note in screen off like in note 8/9 without any mods. Then install newest touch wiz, messages app, contacts, camera 6.95 with new icon and now software looking like Note FE.
So anybody have note 5 for daily driver?
I own a SM-920I since late 2015 and on nougat and stock. Have to take back up every once in a while to free up the space though. Haven't found reason to upgrade to a newer note yet but the new S10 plus is tempting. Planning to flash custom recovery to make the phone work on VoLTE.
I am still using my N920P unlocked for my T-mobile sim card. Just order an original battery from Samsungparts to test out the TRUE CAPACITY via usb amp meter multitester in another post of mine.
Recently i've been obsessed with phone battery's real capacity... I will move to note 9 real soon but still want to use N920P for the time being
Sadly, me too. I'm waiting for my 2 year contract to end in a month or two, then I'll go with the Note9. This POS was crappy from the Beginning. Just 32 gb with no expandable storage, Puny 300' mAh battery. Meh, It was the only Note I could afford at the time.
I am using SM-N920C with khongloi rom. Haven't yet considered upgrading the device as it is still functioning properly except the battery wear after 3 years of use. i still love it.
I just sold my note 5 N920C because 32gb storrage and 3000mah battery is just not enough in 2019.
Looking forward to buy note 9.
The Note 5 Is a Pretty Phone
But It can't be future proof at all.
32 GB of SD Card Is a Big disappointment for Long Use.
Granted its More Beautifull than My Note 8 , But Honestly I always felt kind of disappointment with only 32 GB SD Of Storage I kept Constantly Deleting My Data.
If they make a Note 5 like Phone but with SD Slot and Dual Camera I might buy It.
but honestly the 32 GB Of Storage makes it Impossible for Any one to Record Several videos , Play Games at same phone.
A Cheaper Option that would last Too Long Is now the Note 8.
The Only Negativity is the Speaker is not as Good as Note 9 other than that The Note 9 and Note 8 are identical.
I'll be buying note 9 soon. But i just spent $50 just to order a OEM replacement battery from Samsungparts... Because all of the aftermarket batteries i bought didnt live up to 3000 mAh.
And maybe it is just me 32 Gb for me is enough i always backup stuff to computer so i do not need more space.
Not many people out there that are like me still saying 32 GB is enough storage nowadays lolzzz
It looks like I'll have to unlock this phone (a Sprint version) as our business is going to TMobile... no free phones, so will have to make this work.
That said, any hints from others re good custom roms for an (unlocked Sprint) T-Mobile Note 5? I love custom roms... but with Sprint they are all but nonexistent. TMobile looks more promising, but am curious what folks have found.
I am still using my note 5 lovely.
~3-4 SOT as always. My battery changed ~1.5 years ago.
I am using my paid-to-unlocked Sprint Note 5 on T-mobile network currently. They have special software to unlock these Note 5 But i think that software is nowhere to be found over Internet
I'm still rocking my T-Mobile Note 5 64gb SM-N920T rooted still running Nougat. I need a ROM with reliable Bluetooth and WiFi. . .
