I'm stuck.
My phone boots to the welcome screen all the way to the wifi selection but stops after that saying the setup wizard cannot launch. So I cannot go into phone settings to "enable OEM unlocking" to follow the official HTC procedure for the bootloader unlock (which was once unlocked but is now relocked).
I looks like I have no recovery, because I cannot boot into recovery, it just fails.
If I go to (what I thought was) Download/Fastboot mode and try to Fastboot flash twrp for example, it says: FAILED (remote: cannot flash this partition in s-on state) ----> but I then read that this was because I was NOT actually in Download Mode.
So I think I managed to get to Download mode and tried the Fastboot command to flash TWRP again and now it says: FAILED (remote: 9: SD_SECURITY_FAIL recovery and bootloader isn't BL_UNLOCK).
I suppose it means that my Bootloader isnt unlocked...but as mention initially, I cannot access the OS and enable the OEM unlocking toggle.
Since Fastboot isnt working, I dont know if an RUU would work.... And look like I will never know because everytime I launche the EXE file, it extracts, asks me to to accept the conditions, then nothing happens...
Please help!!

I am replying to myself. After trying several things on the phone, I went back to the OS's setup wizard. The second step (2 steps before the crash), has some text and one has a clickable link saying "learn more". It actually opens some phone settings, and from there, you can access all of the phone settings. So I was able to activate Dev mode, OEM unlock and debugging without going through the Wizard!!
Followed the BL unlock procedures on HTC website and as soon as it was unlocked, phone rebooted and TWRP reappeared! I'm saved!!
Thought I would share my discovery in case this ever happens to you too.
I also discovered another possible course of action. When accessing the same "link" to get to settings, go to the network settings and put the phone on Airplane mode. Go back to the setup wizard and skip the connection to wifi. I think it will skip the part of the Setup that made the OS crash.

About two months back, I rooted my htc one mini 2.
Unlocked the bootloader, installed a new recovery (This one) and finally rooted the device. I wanted to install different fonts for it, and in the process relocked the bootloader again.
Now, after several weeks of not doing anything regarding the root, my phone has errors after errors.
First, Google Play stopped working, and along with it, Youtube and the Play Store of course.
About two weeks later, even the "internet" app stopped working.
Today i wanted to start my phone only to find it stuck in the starting screen. (Looks like this)
What I want to do now is get my phone factory resetted, not rooted anymore and WORKING.
What I tried to do is get the phone into fastbood mode (this worked) and connecting it with the "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" console. (This did NOT work)
Rebooting the device from the fastboot menu did not work, it either gets stuck in the loading screen again or directly enters fastboot.
What can I do to make my phone work again?
I hope you can help me :/

Try unlocking the bootloader again.Flash the custom recovery and then flash the stock rom available in the development section. It looks like your system partition got corrupted

How can i unlock the bootloader again?
The only way i know is via the console and "fastboot oem unlock" - i cant get my phone to connect though.
The available devices the console gives me are an emulator and three times my phone, which is/are offline.
Edit:
Stupid me. "Fastboot oem devices" and it shows my phone in fastboot mode.
Next problem: "fastboot oem unlock" does not work, and flashing the recovery with "fastboot flash myrecovery.img" doesn't work either :/
Edit 2: Managed to unlock the bootloader again (mistook the android folder with de adb folder, no unlocktoken there of course)
Directly after unlocking the bootloader again, the device went into recovery mode, showed the recovery starting logo, and went black.
After turning it back on, it got stuck in the starting screen again - will have to wait for it to run out of battery.
Edit 3: Flashed the recovery, but i can't seem to find a stock rom (only one i did find is this here - and the files are down...)
Solved it!
Just did a factory reset in bootloader menu.
(I hope i didn't forget anything, since I don't know s*** about android development)
Hi, how are you guys?
Well, as the title says, i can not unlock the bootloader. I follow all steps to do it. I tried with SRK Tool, but after puting the bootloader code, it stays on "Waiting for device".
I have already installed Hisuite and the drivers on my pc. Hisuite do not recognise my cellphone as "connected". It always says "click to connect" or similar.
I have enabled the "developer options", but the "OEM unlock" do not appears.
Can anyone help me please?? I dont know what to do.
Thank you
Yeah this drove me fkn crazy also.
SRKTool works for everything else for me but not to unlock bootloader.
Try this (using 'Minimal ADB and Fastboot' instead of 'SKRTool') and worked for me following the instructions:
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2016/04/official-huawei-bootloader-unlock-tool.html
Also once you have
- unlocked bootloader (as above)
- installed twrp (with SRKTool)
- rooted (with SRKTool)
When rooting, it works but says could not mount data.
Same problem when I try to do a backup in TWRP
Found the reason to be because it is encrypted. Then if you change the format (as one video suggested), you won't be able to turn on your phone and will make you want to kill yourself.

Didn´t work . It says "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.016s "
Any idea?
Thank you for your answer
Hi guys, if you are like me trying to lock the bootloader to get Android Pay, or Netflix back up and running without much fuss, I found a way to lock the bootloader.
WARNING: This will do a factory reset to your device, so do backups...
Requires:
- Official OOS flashed (Download here the full zip file for the latest OOS, you can flash through TWRP or stock Recovery)
- Latest Fastboot drivers and SDK file
- Basic knowledge of Fastboot commands
Guide:
- Boot the device into Bootloader mode (power the device with Volume up + Power Button)
- Connect to the PC
- Run the command "fastboot flashing lock"
- On the device, using the volume keys select "Yes" to lock the bootoader
And that's it, the 1st boot will take longer, but just wait.
Hope this helps =)
@hugoprh
It should be
Code:
fastboot oem lock
instead of
Code:
fastboot flashing lock
as OnePlus still uses the older LK. Only Nexus 6P & Pixel/Pixel XL have updated LK that includes these changes.
You should also mention that this procedures factory resets the device i.e. the internal memory is wiped.

Hi, thanks for your feedback, but I did try "fastboot oem lock", as other XDA Oneplus 5 users have tried as well, without success, so I tried the Nexus 6p way "fastboot flashing lock" and it worked and this is the reason I decided to make this guide and I did write a "WARNING" about this procedure doing a factory reset, it's written in bold and underlined, please read carefully.

You need to turn on OEM Unlocking in Developer Settings. If for any reason OEM Unlocking is freezed, flash Magisk and then turn on OEM Unlocking. Flash the stock recovery and the lock bootloader command. It should work flawless!
Don't forget the backup!
Why lock? Why not just use Magisk? That works fine with Android Pay.
You don't need to lock your bootloader to use Netflix

What I did was install custom ROM, the option isn't greyed out. Then try again. But make sure you install stock ROM and recovery before bootloader lock.

You have to format data in recovery
Hi all,
A few days ago I installed a custom ROM, which broke my android pay. I tried to re-lock the bootloader to fix this via the fastboot oem lock command, and i'm now stuck in a bootloop.
I can get the phone to boot into fastboot mode, and it shows up as such when checking via command prompt. I also have a backup of the phone I made a few days ago. I've tried to unlock the phone using the fastboot oem unlock command, but get the following error:
FAILED (remote: Token verification failed, reboot the device)
finished. total time: 0.008s
I bought the phone second hand with an unlocked bootloader, if that makes a difference? I've set up a new Mi account and applied for an unlock code.
Does anyone have any tips on how to proceed? Thanks in advance!
Stupid thing to think relocking your bootloader would fix android pay while still on that custom rom, whe have hacks for that you know >> magisk14/15.2
Do you still have twrp? also try to flash stock images from xiaomi themselves, here.
that should at least get you booting again.
Hi,
Thanks for replying, i'll download the global stable version. Is it a case of sideloading this once complete? I still have TWRP installed if it makes a difference, I just can't reach it :/
Yes I do feel pretty stupid, and thanks for the link to magisk - hadn't heard of it until now but i'll definitely be using when/if I get my Mi back up and running. Is there anyway to unlock the bootloader other than the Mi Unlock app?
Thanks!
EDIT: Okay, so i tried flashing via the MiFlash tool and got the following error:
FAILED: Remote device is locked. Cannot erase.
Any idea of where to go from here?
So, I fixed it! In the off chance anyone is as unlucky/stupid/trigger happy as me, and finds themselves in teh same situation, here's the solution:
If you can't get it into EDL mode because you can't switch it off (mine kept rebooting), follow this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED96PJ-qYMM
It's in a foreign language but is clear enough - take the back off, unscrew the cover and short the pins he shows you after disconnecting the battery, then plug into your computer.
Your phone will pop up as a Qualcommdevice under the ports section of Device Manager. You should then be able to flash via MiFlash as per usual.
Phew, hairy there but sorted in the end. I'll now wait for the unlock code from Xiaomi, and do a bit more reading in future!
A much easier way to solve this problem
You don't have to follow any long tutorial. Nor do you have to open your phone up. Just power it into fastboot mode, download the mi unlock tool that you used the first time to unlock your bootloader and unlock your device once again. Then you can use miflash to flash the fastboot rom on your device and it won't throw up any errors. Once that's done, just reflash the custom recovery. Install the custom rom, use magisk for root and you're good to go. Safety net won't be tripped and android pay will still work. No need to rip your phone apart to fix it.
Hi Guys,
My MI-A2 is stuck in bootloop ( When I turn on my phone it shows its Android One logo and then it shutdown itself ).
In my phone, I didn't turn on any USB Debugging or and OEM unlocking. and now it is possible as the phone is not starting.
I am able to access fastboot and recovery options
I tried to do factoryReset the device from the recovery option but it is just wiping the data.
here are the following things which I have tried with fastboot.
- I tried to unlock the fastboot with MiFlashUnlock but it stops at 99% and gives me the error of unable to verify the device,
- flashing the Stock ROM isn't working with MiFlashTool. giving random errors.
- tried changing the drive partition. it gives error to unlock the device first.
- tried tried to flash TWRP but it also gives me the error of unlocking the device first.
Almost every command of Fastboot is giving me some kind of error
But I am able to access the ADB Sideload from the recovery option.
- I tried to load the April OTA update from ADB Sidelode. The update is Successfully installed. But the device is still in bootloop.
Saving User data is not my priority. I just want the device to be working anyhow. As per my assumption, Fastboot is not an option for me unless it unlocked. I think something from the ADB sideload can be done.
Any help will be appreciated.
Is it a Guide?
Oh, now, its a Great News!

As I have already wrote to you, questions should go to "Questions and Answers" forum.
And as I have already wrote to you, Search works here, and if you've used it, you'd get answers (in mentioned above forum):
1. MiA2 having A/B slots architecture, - is supposed to recover to the other slot X when OTA corrupts ROM is slot Y, - after numerous boot attempts.
2. In case you have tampered phone with try-and-see operations without knowing what you were doing - the only way to recover phone is: TEST Point / EDL. Search these keywords in this forum for appropriate Guide.
try the "fastboot continue" command

you need to flash the phone in edl mode
**just be careful there is a timeout ..when you put it into edl you need miflash and rom.loaded
*** download a stock fastboot stable pie for jasmine
**** unzip amd select revelant xml from within miflash
*****on phone manually boot to fastboot mode with buttons
****** run command "fastboot oem.edl"
*******device will boot to black screen ... immediately go to miflash and press the button to start flashing
___BE CAREFUL__ select clear all tick box at bottom of miflash screen
this should be enough to rescue your device regardless of what you've done or whether you unlocked bootloader or not
