Any phone that has dual sim with dual standby will have shorter battery time.
Will you get hungry/tired faster when both of your hand fully occupied ? Yes. =D

In my experience, it will consumed at least 10-20% faster. Depends on your config
If you set 1st sim for data, but 2nd for call and sms, normally it tend to consume faster.
Also if one of your provider has bad network coverage, it will drain your batt faster as well,
Too many parameters...

Ive to disagree with you . Ive used s7e dual sim ... The sim2 (for calls only 2g signal) its use battery like playing ONE game fruit ninja ... Less than 1% of total battery. Now i use oneplus3 dual sim also. Ive got same battery life no metter ive used 1 or 2 sims. Mayor problem of sim consumption high battery is having bad reception .. when im on WIFi i set both cards to 2g... Its saves a lot battery.

Try make a statistical comparison using only one sim and two sim, i can make sure you will have longer battery life when only using one sim

I did... The difference is 1% or less than that. 2g network ain't use much power btw. As i said you wont even notice it. That 20-30% is BS...

Im using 2 sim and i dont see any difference
The other sim works in 2g network. It makes nearly no different.

In my location has not WiFi, i intend to turn on 3G all day for my Cap, should i?
Depends on how you plan on using your phone. If you are just texting and making calls you could just use edge. If you plan on surfing 3g consumed a little less battery than hspda
No reason not to. 3G doesn't consume that much battery. Unless your worried about running over your plan, in which case you want to make sure not many things are setup to run on 3G, perhaps only gmail etc.
I would suggest trying it for a day, and seeing how long it lasts.

it's all dependent on how you use your phone. What all do you do on your phone throughout the day? Also what apps do you have syncing throughout the day like fb and gmail?
Also are you running stock or custom rom?
And honestly, its much easier for you to test the phone for a day with 3G on, and see the battery drain yourself. It seems battery use is very subjective based on how you use your phone. Because of this, it could have little effect on the way I use my phone, but drain your battery badly because of the way you use your phone. It's hard to say, and just better to test by yourself.
As jivy26 said, if 3G drains too much, you might want to try just using EDGE instead.

Thanks all, May be turn 3G off, it's not necessary to my job, just want to sync all data evey time
I use Juice defender to automatically turn off Data and reconnect every 15 min to sync, this doubles my battery life.
wifi uses more power than 3g at standby, 3g doesn't actually really drain power unless you are sending/receiving data so there is nothing to worry about. i saw someone argue in a thread that with the small change in how much power 3g/edge on uses you might as well never touch the power option to deactivate data.
hows the battery on this phone?

I have found it depends on the signal strength. At home and work I consistantly get 4 bars and 3G signal all the time and I can go 2 days on a single charge.
When we went on vacation recently, I was only getting 2 bars but a 3G signal and a single charge didn't even last me 10 hours.
"hows the battery on this phone?" Well - it's black!
It's a very strange question...
"hows the battery on this phone?" compared to what?
To a neuclear power plant it's rubbish. Compared to my wife's Desire it's fantastic.
It all depends on several parmameters and setting. Opdate stuff all the time like mail, Facebook, Twitter, takes a lot of power. Screen brightnes also.
My battery last about 3 days.
But still a very strang question...
It's OK. Comparing to Desire, it's better. And it depends on the strengh of signal.
its much better than the desire in battery but not better in Signals...
This is just a rant.
I have droid 3 for about 2 weeks. I notice that D3 life is far worse than D2G. For the same usage pattern of me, I usually got about 4 days out of D2G. But for my D3, I always get less than 2 days of usage.
The culprit seems to be "cell standby" (there was another thread on this). My D2G always got about 5% on "cell standby" however, my D3 always got over 35% of power usage on "Cell Standby".
End of rant.

Sounds to me like someone needs to switch Carrier Mode from "Global" to "CDMA".
Unless you severely hack your phone or travel outside of the US, you won't need Global mode.
This prevents the GSM radio from switching on.
Also, Cell Standby will be used frequently when you're in a weak signal area. The best solution to that is to switch cdma mode to "Home Only" and use Wifi if you're using data apps. Strong Wifi uses less battery than weak CDMA.

Actually two days of usage without a charge is pretty good. That's about what I get with my extended battery and fairly lite usage. A couple of possibilities: 1) you now have a dual core cpu which is much faster than your D2G but probably draws more power. 2) You may be using your phone a lot more. I know when I switched my wife from her Droid 1 to her new Droid 3, at first she was complaining of poor battery life. Trying to trace that down I looked at her data usage for the first month she had it and it had more than doubled from about 500 MB on the last month with the Droid 1 to over 1 GB the first month with the droid 3. See, it was her new toy so she was playing with it a lot more than usual - particularly since the phone is faster which allows her to do more with it. We are in the second month now and data usage seems to be getting back to a more normal level.
The point being that when its new, the tendency is to use it a lot - even if its just getting it all set up the way you want.
Welcome OP3 owners , here you can share all your battery life stats , tips and tricks , discuss battery performance of the phone...etc to avoid repetitive threads.
Thanks

Quite poor compared to the first guy's battery screen , i guess one of the causes is the second sim card being active too.

I'm not trying to break any records, nor do I have any big battery saving techniques in use (other than the dark theme). This is normal usage in my opinion. The dash charging is great though.. definitely a huge help with this phone.
My mobile signal is usually anywhere between 1 to 4 bars indoors. I may remove one of the sim cards as I have no real reason to use it - I just wanted to see how it worked in all honesty.

Not a problem. I think that while the capacity could have been bigger (also reducing the camera bump), the dash charge feature helps bring some juice to the phone quite quickly. I'm disappointed though that you can only use OnePlus hardware for it (so far).

Dash charge... 0 - 88% in 38mins.
Just shy of 5hrs SoT. Mixture of gaming, FB stalking, whatsapp, WiFi and cellular, couple of calls and sms, Bluetooth on all day paired with car for about an hour. Not disappointed with that in the slightest.

Agree with you on lower battery capacity and camera bump. But I think these shortcomings can be lived with.
Coming to the major disappointment its not just the oneplus hardware you will have to depend on for dash charging, we need the oneplus software too. They haven't released the libraries and source code for this. So custom roms will be missing this main feature.
Mt first day was disappointing with battery but now it's giving me approximately 1-2 days with 3+ hours SOT and regular usage
Stellar battery life when on a good connection.

The short answer is yes, but,in most use case scenarios,it's not enough to worry about:
https://www.quora.com/Do-the-dual-S...ingle-SIM-phones-for-an-observed-unit-of-time
A weak signal on either/both SIM Cards is what will cause battery drain.
If you have a decent connection/signal strength on both,I wouldn't worry about battery consumption.

If you want to use dual Simcard you should put both sim in the network mode to 2G. Just turn the 4G,3G,2G Auto mode ON if you want to get the internet connection .Turn back to 2G mode afterwards if you have to disconnect the internet connection. I had tried and always got the good results of battery life in my device.....

Honestly, not to contradict any advice from others, but, answer me this:
Is neutering your phone to the lowest speeds/signal quality worth the trade-off for the most meager of battery savings?
If you find yourself in need of that extra battery, then tote an external battery pack or use an extended battery case.
I seriously doubt the Note 9's 4,000mAh battery will let you down.
If you're in an area that has decent signal coverage, chances are you will not need to monitor your battery usage.
I've used a lot Dual-SIM devices over the last couple of years (5 Xiaomi's / 4 Huawei's / 2 OnePlus' / 2 Asus', & one Samsung Note FE)
These phones span the range from flagship to mid-tier & not a single one of 'em suffered battery drain from using both SIM slots.
Get the phone, set it up to your liking & enjoy it.
