Hi, I'm trying to flash a custom ROM on my Fire Tablet, which I've rooted. I have no problems downloading and installing the apk for Flashfire, but when I try to launch it nothing happens. I'm currently on OS 5.1.2.
Not sure why it doesn't launch - is there an alternative method or app?

You probably have v0.50 which is known to exhibit this behavior. Grab the latest version (min 0.52) from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/chainfire/flashfire/

hi guys, any of you able to install the playstore on the newest CM 10.1, becasuse I have not been able because if I install the apk when i want open it this closes immediately (I've tried with the 3.10.10 version) and if I flahs the most recent gapps, when I start the desktop sends me a lot of errors. Any of you guys knows why is this?

Hello everyone,
I have a problem updating my Nexus 6 v5.1 to version 5.1.1. The following occurs:
1) Settings> Phone Info> Update
2) Download the update
3) Restart to install
4) Error (half installation)
I tried several times and is not installed happen the same forever.
I use KingUser, it may be for this application? If by this, as I can I can upgrade safely?
Thanks you.

If you are rooted, have a custom kernel installed, are unencrypted, or have TWRP installed, the OTA will fail. Also, if any system apps are disabled it will cause the OTA to fail.

Go back and read what I wrote, carefully. The answer is there, in my first response.
I'm looking for a custom ROM, I used rootjunkys method for root, remove ads, google play, replace launcher etc. All worked well. Thanks for much for the awesome script!
However since doing that, facebook and chrome etc become really laggy and unresponsive.
Did a google search and other people have same experience.
Been reading about and you can't get recovery on 5.1.1 (because of locked bootloader is it?)
So... If I get a custom ROM, can I flash it via this flashfire app, will it work? I don't want to brick my new tab.
Cheers guys!
If in 5.1.1, flashfire is the only choice to flash ROMs.
Answers to all your questions/procedures can be found at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/help/help-thread-question-noob-friendly-t3205441. I strongly recommend you read it all if you can.
Just be aware of 5.1.x, there has been some complains about bricking devices.

Cheers! Managed to install CM, but Gapps won't install even though it says successful. Tried multiple times now :/
Make sure you follow the procedure, how to use Flashfire should be located under "Device Tools, Root/Un-root/Un-brick methods" on previous link.

make sure system is set to read/write in flashfire and that you're flashing the pico version of gapps
Fixing GApps
Re-flash Gapps from your Cyanogenmod install (Don't wipe or anything, simply flash the gapps you want again with auto-mount disabled, but the second option to mount enabled. I had the same issue and it's fixed, the only issue I have now is I'm unable to install Google Play Games)

Yeah mounting as read and write worked a treat thanks!
I had the exact same problem, error 505 when trying to install play games. And some games wouldn't work without it installed.
What I did was downloaded an apk extractor on my phone, got the apk for games, sent it to my fire and installed it manually.
Hope that helps

Usual 48h to hit devices thing is probably in effect here swell but i'm sure the VPN trick will work for most if you're impatient or waiting for this fix for your SIM issue.
The changelog seems to have added just the SIM fix but for some reason the changelog on the phone says there's more Notification fixes but have to wait and see on that
Here are some of the highlights:
Fixed some notification issues
Addressed SIM recognition issue
Enabled sRGB mode in developer options
Improved RAM management
Improved GPS performance
Enhanced audio playback quality
Updated custom icon packs
Improved camera quality/functionality
Fixed some issues in Gallery
Implemented latest Google security patches
Fixed bugs in Clock/Music apps

When I'm trying to install the ota update I'm getting an error 7 in TWRP. TWRP, root and xposed are systemless. Do I have to unroot to install the OTA?

Are you using the System Update option on the phone to install or the Zip file? either way normally any changes to the system will make OTA fail (like root and xposed)

Actually no. You don't have to unroot but you need to flash stock boot.img . Better option always is to flash Full 3.2.0 ROM twice (sometimes first flash doesn't succeed) and then 3.2.0 -> 3.2.1 OTA immediately and then SuperSU and Xposed. Or wait for Full ROM mirror. Will take me some 20 minutes more. I am downloading it at the moment.
Yes, I tried to install the downloaded ota file via TWRP. Guess I have to download the whole 1.2 GB to get the 15MB update.

Sorry for the question, just to be clear:
I install the full ROM in twrp, install it again without rebooting and after that immediately SuperSU?
Do I have to wipe Cache/Dalvik?
After that I reboot and all the apps are still there?
Spotted this and just VPNd it my self.
Fingers crossed i get less drain over night

If you install the full 3.2.1 rom just install it once, then supersu and THEN wipe cache/dalvik. Your apps will be still there he just needs to optimize them at the start(might take 10 minutes).
If you want to use this "trick" to install 3.2.1 OTA over a 3.2.0 full rom, i have no clue. But i would rather install the full rom. I tried it with the OTA last time and it didn't worked.

daclaus, you have to install the complete rom via twrp, after that you have to install root and xposed again. ota will not work with twrp.
This is my first thread so sorry if I have some weird things. Has anyone gotten the update? I've been waiting since the 26th. I have the fire 7 2015 running FireOS 5.3.1. is it my tablet? Because it's not showing up on Amazon's website either. Any help would be appreciated

Strange. Make sure you have a legit copy (below). If still no joy you may need to reinstall FireOS to make a clean start.

Yup. Sounds like you know what needs to be done. Once backed up I doubt a factory reset will do the trick as it only removes user apps and data. Probably need to reinstall FireOS.

If you go for SuperSume beware of the soft brick following reboot risk as documented in the 5.3.1 thread referenced above. SuperSU is a FlashFire prerequisite unless running on a CM based ROM.
Supersusme doesn't work but the linkiI posted did
