Change media volume when connected to particular BT device - Tasker Tips & Tricks

I know, I know, this is probably the most elementary thing I could ask for, but it's been years and I don't remember any which way how to navigate Tasker.
Simple task is, when connecting to a certain BT receiver, turn media video down to half, when disconnecting, default back up to max.
I think once this is under my belt, I'll be able to work out the rest, but would appreciate any help!

State- net- by connected
Task. (Create new with volume levels
Back out to save task
Press and hold task and add new exit task with the full volume levels
Think that will work I'm kinda new too though

streaming radio and sleep mode

Hi all...
Just got my Tilt a few weeks ago and thus far have been enjoying every moment. I have run into an issue that is a bit irritating, wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Streaming audio over the phone works great, but I can't figure out how to keep the music playing when the phone goes into sleep mode.
I get connected, it plays for a couple of minutes then the sound turns off along with the screen. I hit the power button to wake the phone up, the screen turns on and the music comes back. It appears that the phone is staying connected to the website, it is just the sound that goes away.
Ideally I would like to have the screen off to conserve battery power, while listening to the radio. I am having this issue when using the built in speaker and while using headphones connected through the USB port.
Any help or suggestions would be appriciated.
Yeah, I just tried it with mine and I get the same results - turning it to standby causes the music to stop but the stream seems to stay active. So, I would suggest getting a hold of a program called AE Button Plus, which allows you to remap all of the buttons on the front of the device. There are options in there to disable the standby mode when a button is pressed, and then you can turn off the screen but keep the device running with a different button press. Check it out and you'll understand what I mean, and I think that would be your best bet.

use wktask to minimize streaming apps for audio to stay on.
Speaking of AE Button Plus, also make sure you read my related Button Enhancer Bible for more tips & tricks.
In my experience, the music will still play through Bluetooth A2DP headphones when the phone goes to sleep.

Volume Control for headset

I was wondering if there's anyway to change the volume automatically when you plug in the wired headset.
e.g.
Plug in the headset, volume changes from vibrate to 30% for system and ring volume
Unplug headset, volume changes from 30% back to vibrate.
I've been looking through all the settings - can't find one in WM6.5.
I know there's a view apps like Phoneweaver that can set profiles, but I don't want to add a large program to memory just for this. If anyone knows a way to set it, or with a really small program, that'd be awesome!

App similar to Timerrific?

Does anyone know of an app that currently works on Honeycomb that will set the device and notifications to 0 at a certain time and change it back to 100 at another time? I tried timeriffic and it'll update the volumes if the tablet is active but it looks like if the time comes by and the tablet is in sleep mode then the volumes do not change.
Just looking for a convenient way to manage notification volumes at night just in case I forget to set my volume to 0 and emails don't wake me up!
Thanks in advanced to anyone that can help.

Tasker works for the xoom would allow you to do this but its much more powerful than what you're looking for. Its also somewhat more complicated to configure and set up, but it would allow your device to react and change settings based on all sorts of inputs (location, time, charging, headphones plugged in, etc).

Tasker & BT Media Volume Automation

Has anyone got any experience with automating sound settings with Tasker on the Huawei P10?
I have a task that should turn off the WiFi & turn up the BT volume when connected to my car's WiFi. My WiFi gets turned off as expected when I connect, but the volume stays at 0.
This task worked flawlessly with my Sony Xperia I upgraded from.
I have experience with tasker service getting killed every few days on my p10. I have no idea why.

Some actually! I've used Tasker for several years on the P10, P9, HTC M9, M8 M7 etc etc and have similar profiles running to turn off WiFi, read out SMS's etc when I connect to my car.
Firstly is Phone Audio & Media Audio both turned on in the settings of the paired device (car) in Bluetooth settings?
What volume are you trying to change, phone call, media or both? (In Tasker... BT Voice Volume or Media Volume?)
I've just tested my P10 in Tasker, while connected to my car, and both BT Voice and Media change volume up and down with no issues.

On the Phone: Settings, Apps, Settings, Special Access, Ignore Optimisations, All Apps at top, Allow Tasker
In Tasker: Preferences, Monitor tab, Run in Foreground (Probably ticked already)

OK, how about this bit then (shouldn't make any difference if you've allowed Tasker to ignore optimisations, but you never know!)...
Settings, Apps, Tasker, Battery, Power Intensive prompt & Close after screen locked both off
While I've not specifically noticed Tasker being killed, I've noticed the P10 (& my P9 before it) would sometimes randomly close things anyway, nevermind what ignore options were ticked! But they did usually restart of their own accord soon after. May just be a "glitch" with EMUI/Huawei phones!

Yep, both are already off. And it's the same for dropbox. Photos just won't upload anymore after few days.
Looks like huawei really is overly enthusiastic in closing background apps

My task is set to turn the media volume to max (15) then adjust the BT volume to max (again, 15) before turning the phones WiFi off. I've also tried to use the app Volume Profile, which has a Tasker plugin. I don't know if I need to set a delay? My old phone worked without one, but I remember I had timing issues in the past with other phones.

I had similar problems, they seemed to go away over time. I remember reading in reviews that Huawei uses machine learning to optimise app response and battery, so I don't know if that's influenced things improving over time. I remember my phone mysteriously revoking notification access I granted apps.

Don't think you need a delay, mine certainly doesn't, just done a test again changing both at the same time without a delay...no problems
This is the task I just tested....

Try it on yours. The "Display" bit just shows it's worked. You don't actually need it, but it's a good "bug check" as would be the Sound option, to make sure the task is actually working. The 50 is just the number of my task.

Yes you may be right, certainly Huawei does seem to mess about with permissions etc that other android phones don't!

Volume constantly jumping up and down

Hey guys since I've owned this phone I've had constant problems with the phone automatically adjusting the volume usually way down. When not on Bluetooth it's less pronounced but still occurs, I'll turn on a podcast and the volume will drop on the phone to like 20%.
On Bluetooth, the problem becomes an absolute nightmare. Every time I switch apps, or even open new browser tabs the volume settings appear on screen and randomly jump either up or down. If I'm moving quickly between apps or browsers, this can occur multiple times (up or down) within a 5 second window. Pretty much anytime I turn on audio I have to turn the volume all the way back up.
I've disabled Bluetooth absolute volume in dev settings but don't see any other fix for this.
Also, the problem is independent of player. Spotify does it, stitcher does it, VLC does it, and pi music does it. And even when I'm connected to Bluetooth and doing nothing audio related but just switching between apps and browser it will be jumping the volume levels around and popping up the audio slider on the right side of the screen.
What Bluetooth device are you using? Perhaps it uses touch controls and they're acting up
