Hi there,
I am looking for a case for my Note. I am seriously sick of flip cases. I don't see any good use for them as they just add a layer of annoyance for me.
What I am looking for is a case that wraps around the corners.
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-note-2-cases/galaxy-note-2-case-ultra-thin-air.html
Like this but wrapping the top and bottom too.
I have a few bumps and scratches I would like to hide.
I can't find a case.
Isn't there any case prefably made out of leather or even faux leather that just wraps my phone ?
edit/
This is acutally exactly what I want (bare in mind this is a case for the Note not the Note2 !!!
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/sgp-samsung-galaxy-note-case-ultra-capsule-series.html
1) very similar to ultra thin air and the like but covers a little better and has good reviews from people on xda: http://www.amazon.com/DBA-Cases-Abu...32909&sr=8-1&keywords=dba+cases+galaxy+note+2
2) casemate tough- thinnest case that provides protection comparable to aegis, uag, and otterbox: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...&sr=1-6&keywords=casemate+tough+galaxy+note+2
3) closest thing you will find to a thin leather case but with no protection on top or bottom: http://www.zoarah.com/foxjail-air-pocket-case-for-galaxy-note-2.html
The last one definetely goes into the right direction but it looks pretty damn ugly to be honest.
This is the case I use on my iPad
http://www.spigen.com/tablets/apple/ipad-2/spigen-sgp-ipad-2-leather-case-griff-series.html
I would be totaly fine with something along that lines. Even if it doesn't cover the top or bottom.
This would be the exact thing I am looking for (unfortunately it's for the Note)

i have the white one and it looks really good

Ah sorry I should have mentioned that I do not want TPU cases. I have 2 of them already and I don't like TPU cases as they bend and can be "pressed" away.

lol, you do realize that the ultra capsule that "you exactly want" is Made from 100% TPU material. look at the information on the website itself. anyway, the closest thing i know that makes that is the mercury tpu case here (i own a white one- it's definitely a great tpu- not flexible like the cruzerlite cases- its a harder tpu for sure -very similar to the ultra capsule (i owned two for my galaxy note 1)): http://www.amazon.com/Mercury-Flexi...053&sr=1-2&keywords=mercury+tpu+galaxy+note+2
Case Mate Tough....slim but provides good protection. Inner layer is a TPU bumper with a hard shell.

that Spigen Note 1 case is TPU.
"SGP's Ultra Capsule case not only enhances the look of your device but also protects your phone from scratches and drops. It is made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a very tough and flexible material. It can be twisted freely but will never stretch, deform, or rip."
If you want a non-TPU case that covers the corners and edges your options are: Speck, UAG, Otterbox, Duzign, Seido, Body Glove, and Case Mate.
I purchased the one in the link below. Very happy with it.

How 'bout the Galaxy Note II Body Glove Diamond Shell Case?
Hi All,
I'm looking for a new case, I want it to fit my tight jeans front pocket (now I have the Wrapsol front and back SP on my N2 and the only downside is that the bezel is not protected).
I thought about the Mercury case or some slim bumper.
Any recommendation ?
Thanks
I would get the Boxwave bamboo case, i have it and it's good protection cause it has a lip that protrudes over the edges just enough to most likely protect your screen & scren protector and its like $7 us dollars

Your best option is Case-Mate Tough http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37884573&postcount=105
Thank you guys for the suggestions, but I'm looking for a real slim case, I know that it will be with the cost of the protection but for that I have the UAG. I looking for a case with the Mercury dimensions~ but maybe with higher quality.
There is no other alternative. The slimmest you can go is skin-like TPU case. It will not offer much of a protection, and I had Mercury before - sorry, but its a slippery, glittery case with hardly any lip protection. The *only* relatively slim case that will offer you a drop protection, and I mean to the point that it will survive occasional drop on a concrete or stone pavers its Tough. There are a lot of other cases that are kind of slim and will offer you a decent drop protection, better than Tough, but nothing I have seen that comes close to slimness of Tough (check out my review link in signature for reviews of all the popular cases and even face off comparison).
The title of your thread is "Slim lightweight case with maximum protection ?". I guess "maximum protection" is a subjective term. I don't think the Mercury case (or any TPU case) or a bumper case offers that. If you want slim + max protection, then I strongly recommend the Speck Candyshell. The Samsung Protective Cover + is also good combo of slim and protection.
I didn't make this video.
Have you seen this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192013
Not sure about the protection as I just ordered mine today, but for $2.25 probably wouldn't hurt to try it out. Looks very, very slim in the pics. I also have the Speck Candyshell, very slim case. My only gripe about is the rubber around the lip is peeling and starting to look funky. It wasn't a cheap case, so I'm a little disappointed in that.

I completely agree. The rubber peeling on my case is minor and purely cosmetic (doesn't affect protection). It compliments all the scratches on the glossy black plastic to give the case a vintage look LOL. I got my case in December 2012.

Mine is in. I would consider the protection minimal, less than the Mercury, because the case is mostly open on both ends. I like the material, and it is slim. However it only offers scratch protection on the back of the case, no real drop protection.
i have to agree with vectron. the other two cases mentioned seem nice, but if you want quality, i would go with the Case-Mate Tough. Like vectron, I have many cases as well including the UAG, Tough, Mercury, Cruzerlite TPU (like the boxwave mentioned), Duzign Valor Slim, Elago Slim cases (black one is just like the $2.25 one mentioned), and the ITSkins Lava. The top 3 for protection in this order and feel are the 1) Casemate Tough (slim/protective) 2) UAG (slightly bulky (but skinnier than the rest of the cases out there like defender and commuter etc) with max protection)) 3) Duzign Valor (this case is only $6 and the feel is a soft matte/rubbery feel that is not slippery at all- the colors are amazing and I already dropped my phone on concrete with it from 4 feet- the case is smart- it has more than enough edge protection to protect the face and it protected my phone from any major damage- however, the downside is the top and bottom like all the slim cases (Elago, Spigen Ultra Thin, $2.25 case, etc) is that the top and bottom are not covered. My phone landed on the top unfortunately, and only a tiny scratch happened- the rest of the phone was unaffected and the case also was unaffected).
So, for every day use for a careful guy, Duzign is perfect- they also come in many different colors/feels. For every day use for a slightly clumsy person (I was wearing the wrong jacket with really open pockets when I dropped mine and was shaking my jacket up without realizing how big my pockets were and my phone jumped out, lol), I would go with the Case-Mate Tough- it's my current go to case at the moment. Finally, for a guy who just throws his phone onto the table or doesn't care if it falls down from time to time, the UAG is the best. That thing is beautiful and a beast- I have the white one and my Note 2 is white.
Here's a link for all the Duzign cases- they even have a leather one now: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n...duzign&ie=UTF8&qid=1363965798&rnid=2941120011
here are my pics of all my cases so you can compare:
Top Row (Left to Right): Custom Case-Mate Tough, Custom Case-Mate Tough, Case-Mate Tough (original- my current fav), Mercury TPU, Cimo TPU, Cruzerlite TPU
Bottom Row (Left to Right): UAG Navigator, Elago Slim, Elago Slim, Duzign Valor, Duzign Valor
There's a case called six abundant. I'm using it. It's kind of like the rearth slim case but it offers more eprotection especially for the top and bottom bezel. It was only $10.

How are the Tough dimensions compare to the Mercury TPU case (It seems like they are the same except from the thickness ) ?

You're very welcome. The Mercury is very similar in dimensions to the Tough. However the Mercury doesn't protect very well on the edges around the front nor does it line up perfectly like the Tough.
I want a very thin case/shell (not a TPU) that protects also the bottom chrome part

Just placed an order for the Black Case-Mate Tough. I will come back with my impression.
Thank you all.
I have the I-Blason Clear Halo case on the phone. It looks nice and fits fairly well except for the bottom where it's not as high as the top and the sides. Goes on and off easily, even over the leather back. But it weighs 26 grams. That's a lot of extra weight for this phone. The Diztronic TPU case is 18 grams and they usually make nice cases. Would love to go bareback but I'm not quite that brave. Anyone found anything lighter that still provides some protection?

lol, I just posted about a sale on this one, it was 30 but a new seller has it for 25 including shipping.
It is about 9 grams according to the seller page, but it is bareback. I got the leather though, so that is what I was looking for. Also it looks like it is an officially licensed lg case so it should fit the curve perfect.
Once I get mine in I will do a review. I hope this helps:highfive:
Thanks. I'm looking forward to your review.
What my knowledge and experience say is that the "revolution" case is super rugged, protective and durable it has a *screen protector and is impact shock and water resistant, ( will fit leather backing) its also light in weight and very much secured.
For this situation,a tpu case would a good choice.
I've got the diztronic. While nice and adds good protection I think it's too thick and heavy. Really takes away from the elegance of the G4. I've ordered the Nilkin Nature and heard it is very light and thin. Not much if any drop protection, but added grip and scratch protection

Diztronic is one of my favourites. Been using it on my Nexus 5 for more than a year, dropped it numerous times and nothing ever happened. For the G4 however, I ordered Ringke Slim, which provides only basic protection, as I wanted something slimmer. Haven't received it yet, but if I'm not satisfied with it, I'm gonna go with Diztronic again.

I have the same case as you. I don't mind the weight too much, but I agree that it does add more than i expected. My phone looks like one of those leather couches with the plastic covering it .

Maybe so. Can you recommend a good one?
I picked up a basic Insignia™ brand case at Best Boy. Good edge coverage, snug fit and all cases should have something very close to what has been incorporated into this design -
actual textured grip enhancement on the side-edges. I've been *****in about this for years and here it finally is . . . on a low cost case.
The Spigen Exact Fit is my fave. Super thin, protects all sides. Cheap too but quality. It is a hard shell case. I dislike the TPU cases on anything other than tablets.
I had Ringke before but its coated plastic. Eventually the color starts to wear off. I had a metallic gray and it was black underneath.
The spigen is a solid color throughout.
The only thing I dislike is it is slick. I had a Incipio Feather on my G2 and it had a rubber type coating that I prefer. But Incipio isnt making a Feather case so the Spigen Exact Fit is thr best choice IMO.
I've got the Ringke Slim case. If you're looking for a very slim, not in the way case, this is a very good choice. Very tight fit with a slight lip so the screen doesn't touch whatever you put it on when placed face down. I love it since it barely adds any size or weight while still offering some protection. Only downside is it's very, very difficult to take off since it's a tight fit. If you're planning on swapping out batteries often or changing backs, this case may not be the best option.
Easy Removal and Lightweight??
This Ringke looks to be lightweight, and easy to remove. I need both of these abilities with my G4, because I replace the battery at least once a day. Does anyone know of any other cases that are both lightweight and easy to remove (I have the tan leather backed version from T-Mobile)??
The UAG is surprisingly lightweight considering the protection it provides. I love it.

I have verus verge, and though it fits perfect with all cuts and it is rugged and good finish. It does add a heft to device.

Looks very interesting but I wish they would tell us the weight.
Ringke Slim and Spigen Exact Fit are the same style hard cases.
I chose the Spigen because I didn't like the lines in the corner of the Ringke Slim, or the speaker cut out.
The Spigen, IMO, looks better. It also comes in Teal.
Which is better?
I hate slim cases that are vulnerable to scratch....
Or plz recommend me another slim case.
I have the spigen and am very happy with it. I don't keep my keys in the same pocket as the phone but no scratches after a months use. Also not many fingerprints (and they wipe away nicely if there are any) on it and it has a nice grip to it.
I have the spigen thin and have the ringke slim on order. Reason being the bottom of the spigen is a bit uncomfortable to hold, for me it's the right pinky finger. The ringke goes all around so shouldn't have this problem.
I have dropped my 5X twice now onto concrete with the spigen. Not only does it scratch it dents like hell. Looks like a dog has chewed on the corners. From what i understand the ringke uses similar material.
If you want something that will take hits a bit better, i suggest look at something else. I'm gonna try take better care of my next one, as i really like these cases and the soft feel. Also like how the camera hump has good protection.
Edit: Didn't see the Nillkin part. I also have that case, the nature tpu. It's very thin and has dust flaps for charger and headphone. Don't use it anymore because the camera protection is no good (read non existent). If it protected the hump i'd consider using it. Also the sides are very flexible being so thin, it collects a lot of pocket crap.

Love the Ringke Slim. For a little more protection, the Diztronic TPU is good.

I don't have any experience with the Spigen, but after dropping my Ringke on several hard surfaces the case has held up great. No chunks or scratches to the surrounding TPU. After a few months, the clear plastic has a few faint scratches on the back but you can't notice them unless you catch it in the light just the right way.

My mistake, I keep confusing the Slim with the Fusion, which I have.
I went from Spigen slim to Nillkin slim because of the discomfort to my right pinky, similar to what was mentioned earlier. Not only is this not an issue on the Nillkin slim case, but the textured back feels nice in the hand. I haven't dropped my phone with either case yet, so I can't say how well the Nillkin holds up.
I've had the nillkin fit a few months but am looking for another case. I've loved it so far.... It's insanely thin and the cutoff are great and there dizzy covers, while slightly annoying, are ultimately a benefit. Unfortunately, it's thin and flexible and thus collects pocket longer like crazy. I have the clear version which is now discoloring quite a bit from hand oils and pockets. I loved this case up front (and it was dirt cheap) but it hasn't quite last line of hoped. I'm currently evaluating the diztronic TPU and ringke slim.
I would just choose Ringke because of the brand name.Reads more cool.
Ive just got myself a Ringke slim. It's better than Spigen because it covers the phone completely from all sides. The cutouts are perfect and donot hurt the little finger.
Fist off i tried a Cruzerlite case and not only was it a slightly baggy fit there was no camera protection at all, a shame really as the Bugdroid cases they used to make were brilliant. As this was being returned the Spigen case became available and it is far superior.
The Spigen Rugged Armor is an excellent fit, it feels at one with the phone if that makes sense and all the cut-outs are perfect and the camera module sits around 1mm below the surface of the case to offer it some protection, overall an excellent case that i would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

Any options for a belt clip holster?
Also what are your thoughts on some of the other Spigen cases for this phone
Sorry i have only used this Spigen case in particular but i cant praise it enough really, the fit is exceptional. The UK price for it was £9.99 and it was worth every penny really.
I forgot a link to it in the first post.
https://www.spigen.com/collections/...7t-case-rugged-armor-1?variant=30366585094191
It's a decent case but do wish the back (bottom) was a bit thicker to provide a greater recess for the camera circle. At $11 on amazon it's a bit pricey, but spigen materials and fitment is top notch. 4/5 stars.
I have always been using Spigen case with my OP2 and OP5T. Their cases are perfect. This time I went with OtterBox clear case as I wanted to see the blue back. Perfect fit.
Anyone know if it is compatible with Original Oneplus 7T 3D Tempered Glass Screen Protector?
Or any of the Spigen cases are?
