Had you installed these on Dell Inspiron Duo?
Is it a little bit slower to run virtual machines on this tablet PC (even it's a duo core netbook)?
The Android 2.2 still need to be installed on a separate partition/boot to become a faster touch screen tablet. feasible?
Why has this thread died? i would love to know. its my dealbreaker between getting a xoom and an inspiron duo
Simon_WM how did u install xp in inspiron duo? where did u find the sata drivers etc?
thank u.
kisaras...
he installed it on a virtual PC ( summit like VMware) and he didnt specify if he done it on a duo
has it been done yet
android on dell duo.. has it been done? is the performance better than windows? anyone with a hands on video of performance?
thinking of getting it instead of tablet.. is it worth?
I goggled some info on the duo cause I liked the way it looked n happen to like dell.. the only thing I found I dent like on it was dells "stand" it is super super slow. Utube it and you'll see. Wish it was faster and ran full android other then that I was happy with the specs n price.. Toshiba at100 or the 200 is what I think I might move to cause of dells slow movements
Sent from my Defy. Using XDA App.
Its possible
For me I have the same material (Ispiron Duo)
I M running windows8, Ubuntu 10.10 updated and I m looking to add Android
The Android I have test are 2.2 sparta (Works Fine) and the honeycomb 3.2 (Touchscreen seems to not works properly)
to do this you have to install first Windows an d after android WITHOUT Grub and after that you install UBUNTU
if Grug2 or Grub from ubuntu does not detect Android so look for the partition number for android and customise grub config manually according to thi web site

good luck
(I m tring this at this time)
How did this go, i'm thinking about getting the duo for this reason too. I wish there was more people working on it. I really want to know how the quality is!
I know this post is a little late but I am running ICS on the Duo and it is working really well. I have the RC1 release of the 4.0 tegra port from the android-x86 project.
I am currently dual booting with the Win8 customer preview but I find that I don't go into Win 8 at all any more.
hi, I hope that someone is stil here....i've just buy this dell so I install Win 8.1 and I need/want to install android too....i've found a few things on google search, but not very useful..can someone indicate me a tutorial to follow?!

is there anything in motion for playing symbian programs on Linux or I say android.
just a thought : run ubuntu on android n symbian in it.
Some men are building ubuntu for some devices but is very difficult to run an OS who isn't preinstalled overall if the devices is a Galaxy mini and u want to has another OS installed on linux....it's very difficult dude

Basically its just abuntu 12.10,so anyone will port it to tablet?
Well I contacted Jide to inquire about Remix 3.0 on Mini. It seems Allwinner in all its wisdom has decided not to provide Android 6.0 support for the H64 SOC. So no Remix 3.0 unless Allwinner changes its mind. For me this finishes my folly with this experiment gone bad.
Are you sure?
The chinese version of jide.com says that the remix ultratablet, remix pro, remix mini, and remix os for pc will be getting the upgrade. maybe the remix mini version of 3.0 will still be lolipop.
The new version of the Mini based on Rockchip 3288. It's All winner on the current Mini that is the holdup
CyanogenMod ???
Any chance we could just get the best??? CyanogenMod???

Quite a few articles over the last few days. This is one of the chips they should have used in the first place. Just Google Jide Remix PC Box. I stand corrected it's a Rock chip 3368
Android TV, TV being the key word here. It is put in the same category and as competes with Roku,Fire TV, Apple TV etc. The Chinese boxes are marketed as kodi boxes. Would you consider Roku a Gaming console?. If Razer wanted a game console they should have kept Ouya,s OS which I believe to be far better.
I think this is one of those where it's better to agree to disagree.
this is what jide does with their customer.
they drop any old hardware and build new ones.
so yes,do not buy
especially with all under-powered gpu they use in all their cheap products.
it is Chinese after all.
chromebooks will be the way to go.

Wow, i got screwed twice. Bought one expecting 4K resolution support as stated in the website and in the kickstarter page, and a year and a half later im still waiting. Now i learn that OS 3.0 is also not happening... I give up.
I was hoping to get Marshmallow update for my Remix Mini.
Hope they manage to sort the issue with the chip company out and get on with Marshmallow.
what if i downloaded the zip for remix os 3.0 on a flash drive and installed it via the menu before it starts up
it's not that simple buddy...
the Remix Mini has an ARM chip. There's no existing ARM version of Remix OS 3. Remix OS 3 is only available for x86/AMD64 chips.
Hmm... today I watched.. ETA prime's YouTube vid... about Pine Phone
It has 4 opensource operating systems... ( currently in beta? )
But most interesting is the fact, is that specs are about the same as the Remix Mini
That's makes me think... could we get these OS to run on the Remix mini?
Are there people like me? ... still interested in a Remix mini (possible upgrade pad)
Mine box is still running 24\7... but android 5.1 is getting old
-Normale things...like buying stuff online is getting harder as its a no longer supported platform version
Thoughts? opinions?

I am so interested in this, but I am not a dev and have no idea what goes into doing this type of work.
I've had my Remix for a for a few years now and just want to update because of the no longer supported platform issue.
Unfortunately I would be the wrong person the ask for help with this...
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is a great idea! I have so many things is like to use my remix mini for, but the system is pretty old. I can't even root mine ...
Sometimes I think about trying to learn to develop custom ROMs... I wish I wasn't so lazy.

I'd very welcome any sort of updates about the device.
I'm kind of curious, what do you guys use this device for nowadays?
