Thanks for answering!
I downloaded this ROM, flash from twrp but phone is on bootloop after that ( i tried 2 times with other CSC, once Polish XEO, and once Vietnamese to check if it booted up)
Any suggestion how to properly do that? I wiped cache/dalvik after flash

I Installed this firmware and no such problems. Full wipe chose to Aroma Installer
to firmware after installing the firmware wipes are not doing. CSC chose SER (Russia).
Before establishing this firmware through TWRP what version of the Android has been established
on your ROM LP 5.1.1 or MM 6.0.1?
If LP 5.1.1 that:
1) it is necessary to establish original firmware MM 6.0.1 through Odin;
2) then by means of Odin to establish recovery TWRP;
3) to establish LamlazyROM

Instructions:
A.Switch Off device
B.Press Vol Down + Home +power
once it ask confirm to put device in download mode.
C.Open Odin (V 3.10.6 or above)- Connect device to PC
Once device recognize with odin - Select file N920PVPS2BPD1 *.tar.md5 for AP tab
Open Odin option and uncheck Auto Reboot
Now Flash. Once you see message 'RESET" and Pass on Odin - Disconnect device from PC
D.Long press vol downl + Power to Force Reboot.
Once you see black screen - Immediately press Volume up + Power +home to reboot to recovery.
E.Now you will have TWRP recovery.
- Select to factory reset (wipe data no media)
- select to Install - navigate to LamlazyROM Note5 N920P R4 G928P R4 V7.zip
Once installation finish, select to reboot device and keep patience as it may take 8-9 minute to complete boot.

Yeah fine! Finally that works, but the problem is there is no much more languages ( as i think its like global or something) i searching for some European version with languages. I installed lazyrom for Polish and its anyway no way to pick that language, do you know some other custom roms for N920P?
Thanks for your answers, cheers!:good:

You can also try to establish this ROM:
https://samsungvn.com/threads/note-5-sprint-n920p-lamlazy_rom_mm_v5-big-update-new-ux-2017.15196/
at all custom roms from lamlazy there is European languages support including Polish. I didn't meet other MULTILANGUAGE ROM for N920P.
If you manage to find that that is better than lamlazy_rom, report to me about it.

i9000 soft-bricked (+ microUSB jig), i'm not sure what to flash first, please help

Hi, i'm kinda new to this forum and a newbie with Android.
• First, the details:
I recently bought a Galaxy S GT-I9000 from Vodafone Romania (eastern Europe), locked to Vodafone, with Eclair. I updated to Froyo via Kies, and after that i had:
Firmware version
2.2
Baseband version
I9000XXJPP
Kernel version
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
Build number
FROYO.XFJP7
My phone does NOT have the 3-button-combos for recovery mode / download mode.
• What went wrong
Everything was fine so far, my problem occured when trying to install Voodoo lagfix 5.5 for Froyo.
1. I first tried the /sdcard/update.zip method, i got into recovery mode with "adb reboot recovery" command (only way i can do that), but when i applied update.zip, it said ''signature verification failed, installation aborted''. I googled and found out i have recovery 3e, and i must have had recovery 2e for this method to work (whatever that is).
2. I then tried the Odin method as PDA, repartition unchecked (just like on installation instructions), got into download mode with "adb reboot download" command, pressed start, but Odin FAILED, gave me the error ''Complete(Write) operation failed'' (i didn't save all the details). I panicked a little and unplugged the phone (is the first time i was flashing like this, on any phone). I guess this also happened because i have recovery 3e (?).
Since then, my phone won't start, every time gives me the Phone--!--PC symbols (i guess it's called "soft-brick").

}
First i freaked out a bit, until i googled and found out it's not that serious, and i can still un-brick it
To add to this problem, i can't put my phone into download mode with VolDn+Home+Power, but i've read here about the microUSB jig, and now i have one myself to put it in download mode.
But I still can't put it in recovery mode.
• What i want to install
1. a basic stock froyo version, 2.2 or 2.2.1, with no customisations, i like the phone just the way it was, except for the lag (and maybe the ascending ringtone...)
2. a good, fast reliable lagfix (like voodoo for example). I don't want to brag with Quadrant scores, i just want my phone to perform faster and snappier on a daily basis, that's all.
3. a bootloader with the 3-button-combos for recovery mode / download mode.
4. a kernel with recovery2e, not 3e, to be able to install unsigned update.zip files (i guess i'll be needing that from now on)
The thing is i don't know in which order to install them, and first of all, exactly which ones to pick.
I'm a newbie and I'm afraid something might go wrong with Odin again, and that this time i can brick my phone for good. That's why i want to ask first, no more trial & error.
For example:
If i generate a ROM from RomKitchen, i'm not sure which ones to pick. Is this combination good for me (considering what i previously had) ?
-Base Rom: *NEW* ZSJPJ v10 WIPE ?
-CSC: JP9 Multi CSC (Default) ? or COA - Cosmote Romania ? (i will be using a Cosmote SIM from now on)
-Kernel: Hardcore's Kernel (SpeedMod K13D with HZ=500) ? or Supercurio's Kernel (Voodoo-stable-5.4.2-Froyo-2.2.1-GT-I9000) ?
-Modem: not sure (?)
And, most of all, if i generate a ROM this way, how, and in which point, can i fix my last 2 problems ? (3-button-combo & recovery 2e)?
And also, which Odin shall i flash with, Odin 1.3 or Odin 1.82 ?
I'm a bit confused right now.
I even don't know if i am missing something...
Sorry for the long post.
Thank you in advance!

Rom kitchen roms aren't flashed with ODIN. They're flashed with CWM.
Can i flash with CWM in my situation ? If so, how ? And what do you recommend me to pick from there ?
If i can't flash with CWM, what else do you advise me to flash ? And how ?
All i want is this
1. a basic stock froyo version
2. a good, fast, reliable lagfix
3. 3-button-combos fix
4. recovery2e, not 3e
I'm asking because i'm unexperienced, and i don't want to try for myself and risk making the situation worse than it is.
I'd flash JPU because I'm pretty sure the modem supports the Vodaphone Bands. You'd flash it with ODIN.
You can find it here. http://www.fileserve.com/file/zMHmnhv
Then if you want a kernel with recovery 2e and a good lagfix speedmod is probably the best. You can find it here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=547850&d=1300708313
Just flash speedmod using odin AFTER you flash JPU. It'll have CWM and 2e recovery. I don't think you'll need CWM and 2e until you read more about how to flash and troubleshoot though.
Thank you for your answer!

One thing about this modem - will it lock my phone to Vodafone ? Although i bought it from Vodafone, i'll be using my phone with a SIM from another carrier, Cosmote, from now on.
Long story short, i'll want my phone unlocked.
As for the 3-button-combo, can i flash this bootloader simultaneously with JPU, all in one flash with Odin 1.82 ?
Or leave it for later ? (the 3rd step, after 1:JPU and 2:speedmod ?) Or just ignore it for now ?
Once again, thanks a lot for your answer!

No as long as current network is on CSC it wil work if not you have to manually set the APN etc

If its broke just flash stock rom to get it working before doing any modifications . You ned a rom for your area .
Once you have got stock working you can build your own upgrade in rom kitchin .COA is the csc file for that network .

So i'll have network signal, make calls, right ? Just for internet i'll have to manually configure APN (user, psw) ? If so, that's not a problem.

Well, i'm not sure what else i might need from the kitchen.
All i wanted in the first place was a stock Android version & a good lagfix.
When applying the lagfix, all my problems started, and then i discovered that i don't have 3-button-combo and or recovery 2e. I didn't even knew i needed them. And i don't think i'll need them again.
It worked! My phone is back working again!
Thank you for your help!
I flashed as advised by Furry Atom in post #4, JPU and after that, speedmod.
Just after flashing JPU, the three button combos worked! I didn't expect that, i thout i'd have to install a different bootloader for them to work. Now i can quickly enter in recovery mode without "adb reboot recovery" command.
And no problem with the SIM either.
After flashing speedmod, it took me a while to figure i have to manually enable the lagfix and do the conversions from recovery mode.
I searched the speedmod topic for more details from another users, and for now i've done these settings:
1. enabled the first 4 tweaks from TWEAKS section.
2. converted system from RFS to EXT4 (and reboot)
3. and the rest as following
data_fs =ext4
cache=ext4nj
DBDATA=ext4
DATA_LOOP=EXT2
CACHE_LOOP=EXT2
DBDATA_LOOP=EXT2
BIND_DATA_TO_DBDATA=False
I did a Quadrant test just to check. Before enabling the ones above i scored ~1100, and now ~1600.
In real-life preformance, i didn't have time to test the phone enough, but it feels ok with no more freezing lags ...so far.
I also didn't have time to see how the battery performs.
There are some bad things though (that i also experienced before, with JP7 and i hoped speedmod would fix them)
1 - Sometimes when i begin a new game, it's smooth, sometimes it's really choppy for 1-2 minutes or so. In games with ads, (like Klondike Solitaire or Four in a row).
Is it because of the ads ?
2 - With some launchers (like Go Launcher EX or Tag Launcher) scrolling through the app drawer feels really choppy and jerky. What may cause this ? Especially when i have a live wallpaper.
Or that's the way the launcher is optimised ? (i'll upload a video if you want)
It's a shame because with other launchers (TouchWiz, Launcher Pro, Gingerbread launcher), scrolling through the app drawer feels way smoother.
But i liked so much the way you can sort apps into folders/categories with Go Launcher or Tag Launcher, but scroling is far from smooth.
I'm forced to choose between style or functionality. Why can't i have both ?
It might be a dumb question - but is there a method to make Go Launcher smoother when scrolling through the app drawer ?
Once again, thank you for your answers!

The file from samfirmware is defective. You are better off updating thru kies.
Download DXJK2 from here then connect to kies and update....
good luck!
Ironically, I just flashed mine with the one found on samfirmware.com as I needed to send my unit back to Samsung for RMA on the battery, (battery kept on shutting down for no reason) and it worked just fine. Phone, CSC was all there. They gave it the once over and actually "reformatted" it for me, just to diagnose in case it wasn't a software issue. Lo and behold, it shut down on them right after the "reformatting" and confirmed my issues for them!
Just follow the restocking part of the guide found on Teamovercome.net, but instead of using the standard JQ1.tar file we provided, just use the tar file that came from samfirmware and you should be alright. That's what I did anyway, and it was all fine.
Just remember to do change the CSC from the Korean one to your appropriate market's CSC. The Malaysian CSC was XME.

If i remember correctly, after flashing the firmware, go to recovery mode, it will do some initialisation and once it's done, you do a reboot, you should see the pda & csc..

tried flashing DXJK2 but it keeps on rebooting at samsung logo.
OK, just for fun, I flash back to stock DXJPE from Overcome Jupiter.
The DXJPE firmware is the same from samfirmware.
Using Odin, put pit file 'gt-p1000_mr.pit', put PDA file the downloaded tar file and start flashing.
Upon flash successfully complete, the tab is observed to be stuck in Download mode.
Power off the tab, then enter recovery mode (power button, volume up button)
Once on recovery, will see runs of red text. Dont worry
From recovery perform clear cache, factory reset.
Reboot tab.
Tab should boot up to the familiar language setup screens.
Dial *#272*<imei no>#* to change to your desired CSC.

check what version is your CWM, if ver 5, you need to change to ver 6, flash CWM ver 6 with ariesVe.ops using odin 4.43
the other option being a bootloader problem

You already had a thread made for the same error few days back. The same question.. did you try flashing a rom using the PIT file? http://d-h.st/FVh (Don't use it if you have 32GB model.).
In your previous thread you said 4.0.4 works fine? whats the status now?

No my note is not booting up in any stock firmware now! no 2.3.5,4.0.4,4.1.2! i cannot boot .
Flash ICS rom again.. boot into recovery and paste a pic. Also the odin screen shot as well after flashing is completed.

did odin flash the rom successfully? I mean the FactoryFS, cache img etc? ... now if you boot into download mode, flash Philz kernel from odin, what happens?

Once you flash philz kernel using odin.. remove the usb cable, remove the battery.. re-seat the battery after 10 seconds.. then press vol up+home+power till you see the GT N7000 screen.. then leave the keys. See if you can get to CWM.

As I can see, please just flash the rom with the tab "AP" only, not all of the tab in ordin.

hi ,
to "unroot " is just a matter of flashing your latest correct stock Rom for your device with Odin .( yes over your rooted Rom )
So it should be Odin + correct stock rom for your device ( and yes your Rom should have file name tar.md5 " at end ,place it in AP of Odin ..then Flash )
Thats it .you should be back on on complete stock, but unfortunately Knox will be tripped , due to you having rooted your device .
So in a nutshell ,
if you flash a complete stock Rom, on a rooted device ,
the phone/device reverts back to a complete stock Rom .!!!
In a case if you are rooted and do a factory reset on your phone ,
root should still stick and your device will still be rooted after the factory reset .
( this above , i have done many times with all my other devices ,
so i found it to be correct . )
good luck

hi,
not to sure about error, but most common type of error could be.....
1
Your downloaded Rom could be corrupted.
(if you know how to check md5 checksum, you could verify it has downloaded Rom correctly.) Re download if corrupted from a trusted source.
2
check your usb cable if not faulty .. you might think its ok.. but let me tell you,.. You'll be surprised!
3
have you downloaded the latest correct stock Rom for your device, not just any old Rom. (think, updated bootloader, etc)
4
have you latest Samsung drivers on your pc /laptop? (Reinstall driver's if you have to.)
5
Are you using correct Odin version?
i not to sure what latest is but should be around Odin v 3.10.7........?
6
In Odin have you placed your correct Rom with extension /file name ... tar. md5 in Odin correct AP block./section ?
7
I have seen on this XDA forum's of members either trying to flash the downloaded zip file (if it downloaded Rom was in a zip to save file size) or extracted the tar. md5 further...?
you must make sure your file extension should be tar. md5 unless otherwise stated from your downloaded website (eg Samsmobile etc etc)
Good luck)

I usually use my work PC to mod my phone I'll try again and if I get an error I'll let you know what it says and I'll double check. I'm pretty sure I've done all the right things. I'll double check and triple check again

hi ,
in short yes ,same procedure .........
flash latest correct updated ,stock Rom of your particular device
and remember not just any old Rom you have ( bootloader etc gets updated over time )
Remember ,flashing correct stock Rom ,over your current rooted Rom you will lose custom recovery and root automatically .( no need to unroot etc ),
but always make sure in the particular custom Rom thread ,
Normally ,in particular thread, dev will
sometimes recommend what custom recovery you must use (to make the flashing easier.)
Also , all info regarding custom Rom ,will be in first post or 2/3 .
Otherwise, if you are not sure asked the dev /other forum members , of that particular custom Rom /thread .
good luck
