i made a pin password and finger print to lock screen now when go to setting i can not chose none in screen lock settings it say disabled by administrator .encryption policy or credential storage ?
I had the same issue lastnight.. this is what I found and works for me:
1st step : create a pattern lock and for emergency PIN code to 0000 .
2nd step : go unlocking screen by pressing the power button.
3rd stage: try to unlock 5 wrong times, the phone will ask you to wait 1 min, after that go to Backup PIN.
4 th step : enter the PIN secour 0000 , the phone will return to the lock screen option with sliding always grayed out, DO NOT CHANGE.
5 th step : go unlocking screen by pressing the power button , no more multipoint , the slide is given by default!

Did you manage to remove the Slide screen as well? I would love to be able to do that so I can use a custom lockscreen
@dabo2100 Thank you so much for the good and helpful advice! You saved me all the cursing and irritation! All the best to you, lots of luck and happiness!
I think you just needed to go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Security > Clear all credentials (Remove all certificates) > Confirm OK.
Then the option to remove the locks should be available.
Seen this plenty of times on android phones.
Many many thanks to you man!!! This works perfectly for me with my Huawei P9 lite
I am in the same place and clearing credentials did not help. The option for None is still greyed out and also in the developer menu. I wiped cache and rebooted and it didn't help. Once i set a pattern the only way to force it to None is the 5-times wrong pattern and PIN trick, but the option is still greyed out. The only workaround so far was the No Lock app from play store.. but is there no way without root to sort this out properly?

Hey guys,
Was wondering if theres a button you can push to activate the password lock instead of having to wait for the timer to go. Thanks!

hold end call for a few seconds(red phone button)
ekw,
as I mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1780468 holding the end call button just locks the keys, but/and
- "any child who can read" is able to unlock it (unlock & *)
- this way of locking doesn't ask/require a password/PIN to unlock the device
I'm using the standard HTC Rom.. maybe your's is different?
Mine: HTC TyTN II (Dutch)
R: 1.27.12.11
G: 22.45.88.07H
D: 1.56.00.00
Use htc endkey then . Holding red phone button locks mine!!(maybe i changed it a long time ago and forgot )
ekw,
does 'HTC endkey' invokes the 'enter PIN code' screen to appear or just tap 'unlock' and then 'tap here to unlock' on the screen or use '*'?
i can confirm the using "HTC Endkey" to lock the device DOES NOT invoke the pin entry screen when you have the pin/password entry enabled. The only sure fire way around this is to set the pin entry/password "prompt if device is unused for" to 0 minutes; this way whenever the display is automatically OR manually turned off (through power button or device lock (assigned to a key etc)) when the phone is woken it will always ask for the pin to be entered.

I'm "happy" that you can confirm our 'problem'
Fact is.. I've put the screen to turn off after 2 minutes of non-activity, but when I'm for instance at home, the device shouldn't lock itself with a password when the screen is turned off.
So I'm trying to find a way to be able to enable/disable the device lock by for exemple tapping an icon on the today screen or hitting an assigned key.
Briefly said.. see attached screencapture..
instead of opening that screen (settings, lock, <entering the password>) and enable/disable the option.. I want that (!) enabling/disabling to be done by hitting an assigned key which edits a registry settings..
I do think that the option which you'll see in the screencapture is being remembered in the registry.
I'm willing to find the registry key and programming a 'tool' myself which will edit the registry key.. but I must do some searching (programming for xda).
Does anyone knows if the password prompt after waking the devise can be changed? I had my corporate email set on my Nexus and the password prompt is annoying me every time i would like to change it like to prompt after 5 or 10mins is possible.
Are you on CM6? There are new settings to control the lock out time.

Yes I am on CM6 where are these settings? I been all over but can't find them.
Edit: Found the lock out time, what I like is to avoid the time it takes once locked to ask for password.
I am looking for this as well.
CM Settings > User Interface > Screen Timout Delay
"How long to delay before enabling screen lock when screen times out"
.......
Alternatively you can use the Power Controls widget and choose the "Screen lock" to do it manually.

I think we may be talking about two different things.
I have a pin lock set up. After the screen turns off its quite a pain to type in a 7 digit number each time. I'm looking for a way to continue to keep the slide to unlock screen when the screen turns off, but to delay the actual pin/pattern lock for x amount of minutes

The slide to unlock and pin are joined at the hip. You can't have one without the other. (this was stated by android team member and it will not be changing anytime soon as it's a security issue).
If you use the settings I pointed to you can delay the lock combo altogether for X amount of time. Use the top for when the screen turns off by itself, and the bottom one for when you manually press the power button to turn the screen off.
(I know this because I use a pin code as well, and I just tested it)
I supposed you could pester someone over at CM and they'll look into decoupling it.
You can download an app from the market to disable/enter your password for you if you dont like having to enter it everytime you wake the phone. I personally use an app called Lockpicker so i dont have to type in my exchange email password everytime I wake my phone. Just a suggestion.

I like your suggestion, because our Draconian IT policies force us to use a password after wake always. I will look for the app now.
Thanks a lot.
Edit: this doesn't work with Froyo. Bummer.

I see. I tried what you suggested and it is what i was looking for. I just have a habit of turning off the screen with the power button and never configured the second setting. Thanks for pointing that out!
Hello Guys,
I have a problem with the system screen lock in third-party apps and I think that the problem wasn't there when I got my phone but now it is.
The problem is that I can't unlock third party apps which are offering the system lock mechanism as an extra security layer with my fingerprint.
Please see the attached Screenshots. The first one is the screen when I open the app in the first place, the second is the one after I put a registered finger on the fingerprint reader. So it does recognize the finger, but the screen does not disappear. So after that, I have two possibilities to get through the app, I can either hit cancel above the figures and open the app again, the lock screen won't appear again or I can just enter the pin and hit enter.
Does anyone faced the same problem and knows how to solve it? I already tried switching to pattern instead of a pin, I even turned the lock screen completely off and added all finger again. Unfortunately nothing helps.
Really appreciate your help,
Max
Just bought this amazing phone and I would like to remove swipe to unlock as I hate to unlock any phones, I like to double tap and boom it's ready to use.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Hi,
Did you set your fingerprint?
Usually when you set your fingerprint, then unlocking with your finger takes you directly to the home screen.

I found a way to enable the pop up selfie camera to unlock the phone and to enter the phone all you have to do is push the power button and it unlocks the phone directly to home screen

Yeah no problem so I downloaded the app hidden settings from the play store ... then when inside the app I went to the section marked face authentication and after putting in my lock screen code selected the toggle for unlocking my phone and the toggle that says confirm button. then after that, the phone should pop up the selfie camera to unlock if you click the button or swipe up on the lock screen.
I want to have my tablet unlocked (unlocked locksceen) but using the fingerprint scanner for my apps, banks etc. Samsung galaxy tab s6. If i setup fingerprints, automatically the locksceen is locked.. You have to use password, fingerprint or patern to unlock.. Which i don't want. I wanted unlock.. If anyone knows..
Thanks,

If you are on stock One UI, try this approach:
Post in thread 'Set automatic lock delay on android to more than 30 min. with ADB' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...re-than-30-min-with-adb.3791042/post-81421129
Also you have to set locking with power button to off in system settings. I was using this successfully on my Tab S5e when I was on stock, although now I'm on Lineage Os

Hmm, this is not impossible, but rather unlikely... Did you make sure to change the power button setting? I don't remember how it is named exactly but I belive it's necessary to get it work. Also you could try to separate adb command for two and use superuser access:
Code:
adb shell
su
settings put secure lock_screen_lock_after_timeout 86400000

Many thanks my friend! This really helped: "Did you make sure to change the power button setting? I don't remember how it is named exactly but I belive it's necessary to get it work"
This made me remember, that the above adb commands probably just increase the time to auto lock the screen.. If you press the button it lock instantly bypassing this I think.. So i setup auto lock the screen in 15 sec (without pressing the button), and is working. When screen goes of automatically, it supposed to lock in 5 sec i think, if you don't preen the power button during this 5 sec (otherwise it will auto lock after those 5 sec). Now this 5 sec has become a day.. So tablet stay unlocked and when i press the power key it goes to desktop. Let's hope tablet go to standby and not consuming battery this way.. This one needs to test.
I think i had an app which just turn screen off without lock. Or probably i can do it in tasker, i will try. I think it's going to work this way.. Or perhaps there is a setting when press the power button not to lock instantly. I don't remember if there is, I'll search it.
Thanks again!
Edit. I just made a command in tasker: turn screen of (without checking lock) and it works.. Screen goes of without locking (normally it won't lock for 5 sec i think, but now is for a day). So i can "lock" by a button shortcut in screen, without really lock, or i can press the button and lock instantly with locksceen (which needs fingerprint to unlock).. Or i can set to double press the power button to run the tasker shortcut, so pressing the power button screen of and lock the tablet, or double press the power button to turn the screen off without lock.. I have the choice.. It's ok this with me, many thanks again!!

Yes, this is exactly how it works
I use Tasker as well and yes, it's very powerful tool. Glad you find your way to get it work
