So, I exchanged my explodey note 7 for a non-explodey one.
I'm now having an issue with fast charging. With the old note 7 I would leave a game running while connected to the fast charger (samsung) and would gain percent fairly quickly.
Since the exchange, the phone holds steady and gains a percent every 30 minutes or so. If I disable quick charging I begin to gain percent at a reasonable rate. Not as fast as the old note 7 with quick charging, but notably faster than with quick charge enabled.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
I having Problems with my phone charging. it can take up to 7 hr to fully charge when dead. @ 60 % it takes 55 min to charge just 40 %. Not sure what's going on with my new replacement phone.
They change the rates. Slow it down a bit. They dont want another battery recall. So there taking steps.
I find it that if i charge while on it take long, but off it work as my old note 7
I have the same problem .. when I'm using Viber app and charging doesn't charge I was a 48% after a 20 minutes I was at 47% so I'm really worry about it I hope is not a big problem

Yup, for me while the screen is on it charges like regular . Only after the screen is off does it fast charge and even then it's inconsistent. Had to get the coral blue instead of my black because they were out of exchanges and now this charging ish. Makes me feel like I should have kept my old one

Anyone else having a similar problem or know of a way to fix it?
It takes a *while* to charge. Mine just hit 60%.
We shall see, been charging all day... anytime i take it off charging drops to 40ish%
Im using battstatt and it drops by 10 percent.....90.80.70 im gonna let thr battery die completely before charging and see if it changes

OK, I just saw this in another thread too... mine has maxed at 60%. Gonna le it rest, shut it off over night and put it on another charger. See what everyone says tomorrow!
Seriously guys, charge it from an outlet. It charges *really slowly* through USB.
anyone else go through the initial charge, recharge and have it at 10% 9 hrs later?

10 hours total on 4G? That's not terrible.
Charge via USB that is connected to your PC takes forever...but it does charge.
But if you unplug it and charge via the power adapter, it is much faster.
i charged mine via usb and the wall socket, wouldn't go past 50%.
I went to bed and plugged it in to teh wall charger (charge for ~7 hours), checked when i woke up, 50%
went to the verizon store and they gave me a new battery (started at 50%). plugged the phone in 2/3 hours ago, im still at 50%
my dad mentioned it could be a bad fuel gauge chip (he works at TI)
So for whatever reason, you have to use the charger that came in the box. I've had the same problem, but it was because I was using chargers from older Moto phones and HTC phones. Now that I'm using the actual Bionic charger, it's charging fast like it should.
Silly, but it apparently is the case.
I bought a wall charger that you take the battery out of the phone and charge.takes 2 hours with xtra battery 15 bucks mobiletech

From what I've read about newer handsets, the phone needs some time to figure out know how to convert raw readings into percentage of capacity. I believe, the phone figures out how much charge a battery has based on the voltage. And, I don't think the relationship is linear.
My battery seemed to be horrible the first day. Today, I've gone through 30% after 5 hours, with the screen being on for 35 minutes and wifi connected for just under two hours. I don't know if the battery is "breaking in" or the phone is reading the level differently, but things are looking better.
As topics says and like your battery is under %20 percent approximately how long does it take to get it fully charged
About 1.5 - 2 hours
Mine seems about the same, however if your using the phone wile charging it takes a lot longer, which is strange because there should be enough current to charge and use simultaneously.
1 hour 45 minutes from 25%, also I have juice plotter installed and theres a widget that you can put on your homescreen that changes from time left to how much time it takes to charge when it is actually charging which is kind of neat.
ty i think my phones charge time is increased will try tonight again

yep! for a moment was wondering if there was something abnormal with my phone.

You guys could try a 2 amps charger (such as the one that comes with the ipad), theres some evidence it will charge faster, although not by much.

30 seconds.
(battery swap )
But seriously, about 3 hours from empty to full on the charger that came with it, and about 2 hours with my 2amp galaxy tab charger.

True when I charge my GS2 with my Galaxy tab charger its dramatically faster.
._. there must be something wrong with my gnote then ... it takes around 4h30m to fully charge from around 10%... and even longer if using phone at same time...
I had several smartphones and this one is the one with the worst battery ever ... my dell streak's battery charges faster and even tho it also has a 5" screen, its 1500mAh battery lasts longer with the same usage.
Yesterday my gnote battery took 3h30m to go from 100% to 13% just from playing 2h30m of games and 1h browsing... innaceptable! and I do use betterbatterystats and I have few wakelocks that could be draining battery...
This phone charging scheme is really crappy, as I understand from my use, while charging instead of the charger powering both the phone and the battery at same time, I think it only charges the battery and the phone is always powered by the battery alone...
I din read about it yet, but I almost sure the gnote works like that, cause if i use Skype video call for example, i only get a 1% charge increase around every 10mins, which is really ridiculous ...
plus, while with my other smartphones I could take out the battery while charging it and the phones would keep powered, same thing doesn't happen with the note... battery off while charging, phone also off, which can only mean IMO that the phone is 100% only powered by the battery even when charging...
Besides making it take longer to charge, won't the battery life also decrease that way?..
.
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the BLU R1 HD can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Must use Blu charger. Otherwise, charging speed will be 30% lower. I checked with Ampere. Using Blu charger, can charge from 10-100 in about ~2 hours. Not bad.
My experience has been different. If you're heavily using the phone (google maps for navigation for example) the battery will barely charge and it will get very hot. The phone maintains charge well, however charging it up is definitely a 3-4 hour process, if I plug it in for 15 minutes with no use it's about 5-10% on the battery max. I did not find the charger that came with the phone to be any different than most other chargers I had lying around, same charge time (most were higher amperage anyway, being throttled by the phone regardless).
3 because it does charge very slowly, even compared to older non fast charge phones I've had, I think I read that it maxes out at [email protected] which is quite slow.
It's not as big of a deal as the battery life is excellent and it was only $60, but you can't get around calling the charging slow
Definitely limited charging speed, if I use a Samsung 2 amp charger im looking at about 3.5 hours to max charge, whats weird is I used a Samsung 1 amp charger and achieved full charge from 8% to full in just under 2 hours. How does a manufacturer cripple charging port?? -_-

Yes, that's why I said you have to use the Blu charger. I have no idea how they cripple it.

Here's how long it took to charge my R1 HD from 1% until 100% with the Wi-Fi on and radio on. 2 hours and 39 minutes...
Standard BLU charger and cable used.
It's really crappy that BLU somehow cripples the charging time if you choose to use a different charger or cable.
That's got to be the thing I hate the most about this phone. Sigh....
I just got his phone and while I work I stream videos and music all day long at my desk. I keep the phone plugged in the entire time and I've noticed the battery percentage will only increase 1% per hour while charging & using the phone at the same time. Previously I was using the iPhone 6s doing the same thing, it charged 100% quickly. But with nothing changing on the iPhone 7 I switched to android on a cheap phone while I wait for the Samsung Galaxy S8
How does the device behave with Power Banks or 2.1 V outputs?

I am horrifically disappointed in this device's charging speed.
I was very pleasantly surprised by how fast this phone charges, untill the past few days. Now all the sudden it seems very average. "Charging Rapidly" is not anywhere near as impressive now as it was. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to figure out if it's just the phone (I have seen other slow charging complaints but not this specifically), or if I caused it.
I installed that stock kernel with security pass patch, twrp beta1, Magisk 14.4.2, and Viper4Arise. Pretty confident that it's not any of those things, but everything else is pretty standard.
This is the case with the charger that came with the P2 in box, the older N5x charger, and the usb-c car charger. I know the new P2 one is stronger, but the change is noticable all around.
My 'Charging Rapidly' also does not seem to be all that rapid, using the charger that came in the box and can take quite a while to get to 100%.

It takes hours to get to 100%. I recently got hold of a USB-A to USB-C cable and plugged the phone into my Nexus 6 brick. The difference was astounding. Full charge in about 1.5 hours. It's sickening that I spent the money on this phone only to have it be so disappointing. I'm a diehard Google fanboi but this is ridiculous.
Definitely miss my 1+5 dash charge. Damn that thing was fast.
Some numbers, today I connected my phone at 19% with stock charger.
- 30 min charge: 19% to 56%
- 40 min charge: 19% to 67%
I don't think that's bad, it's definitely not FAST, nor regular. But considering all the issues the 6P had with batteries, I don't really want to charge my battery in less than one hour. (Specially now that the phone has at least 3 years of updates, I'd like to have 90% of battery life or more in 3 years)
I'll have to do another test, something like from 35% to 80% (this would be more real life, I only need a 2nd charge when I'm traveling in a city with a power bank, using Maps and Camera all the time).
Ultra fast charging and wireless charging are some of the features that I care less in the phone. I want some fast charging between 30% and 90%, but I don't require it to be extremely fast.
TL : DR: If you value an ultra fast charging over other things in a phone, definitely skip the Pixel 2.
p2's charging current is capped at 2700ma (could be up to around 3200ma by kernel hax), meanwhile high battery temperature (over 45 Celsius degrees) and others things such as screen state will cap the current more (half or more)
Without those restricts, fully charge time should be around a hour.

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying Pixel 5A tomorrow as it will be selling for $399.
Can someone please tell me how time it takes to fully charge the phone with the in box charger?
Thanks.

Using the 18 watt charger, it charges to 42% in 30 min, 75% in 1 hour, and full charge in 100 minutes.
The battery is significantly bigger than even the Pixel 5, which I have, so if you aren't a heavy user (gaming, 4k recording, etc) the battery should easily last you all day.
Another datapoint, mine charged from about 25% to about 92% in one hour in the fast charge mode. It switched to adaptive charging when I set the alarm for the next day, but right before that it was estimating about 20 minutes more to reach 100%.
