Quick Question, Can I Unlock the Bootloader from a Factory Unlocked Moto X (xt1053) on 4.4.3 from Motorola's website?
Yes
Sent from my XT1060
Hello
I'm looking to buy a Moto X 2014 on Monday (1st Dec) when Motorola have their £100 off deal. However, I'd like to root the phone, so would like to know if the Moto X 2014 from Motorola UK store have unlocked bootloader? Or does it come with locked bootloader and I need to unlock it from the Motorola website?
Many thanks
Locked bootloader I'm afraid. Unlocking it means getting a code from Motorola's site after agreeing to an explicit all-caps disclaimer about voiding your warranty. You also can't get root by booting straight into a custom recovery without flashing it and leaving the bootloader locked.
I'm not sure if I should reflash stock , sunshine says I have to uninstall xposed on my 5.1 xt1058 and I want to know if anyone got it to work on 2013 variant, I needz freedem
Sunshine supports the Moto X 2013 up to 4.4.2, on all 2013 Moto X's and only some on 4.4.4. The only way to check is to install Sunshine and try. It won't cost you anything unless it can unlock the bootloader.
So I have a bit of a dilemma.
I want to root my Verizon Moto X (XT1060), but I can't find any tools that support it without unlocking my bootloader. Motorolla's Bootloader Unlock System doesn't give me a key, and Verizon doesn't allow unlocks (that I know of),
TL;DR
Is there any way to:
Bypass the restrictions and unlock my bootloader
or
Root my Moto X without unlocking the bootloader
Thank in advance for the help.

Recently I was trying to unlock my Moto X 2014's bootloader and I came a cross this site: bits-please.blogspot.com/2016/02/unlocking-motorola-bootloader.html. However, while I understand the concepts, the actual in practice execution of the exploit is completely foreign to me. What would I need to do in order to use the exploit and unlock the bootloader.

Sorry but I can understand.
Why you don't use official Motorola site to unlock bootloader?
