stock rom general mobile 4g dual sim android 6 - Android One (Second-Generation) General

hi everyone,
here's some firmware, i'm currently running it, so it should work, but as i'm not yet an expert on this subject, i don't want to be held accountable if something goes wrong. I'm sharing this because i keep it on my computer in case something goes wrong or i need it rooted, and i thought i'd share it here as well, so others can also get the older firmware easily.
general mobile 4g
android m (6.0)
dual sim version
here's the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0MXrrFFlFHYLU1OVDRXVFM5d0E/view?usp=sharing

As i've been getting a lot of requests recently and google drive messed with the links and permissions, here's an updated link to my stock rom. Use at your own risk and enjoy.

[Q] Samsung GS3 4.1 Update for Unlcoked Phones?

I just bought a GSM unlocked Galaxy S3 (edit: i9300, android 4.0) and went with T-Mobile's online pre-paid plan. It's all stock except for having root access through CF auto-root. Edit: the device is not rooted, just using CF auto-root to give apps root access. Everything is still stock as far as I understand how CF auto-root works. The device is still running 4.0 and no updates are available. Are we being left behind? Or was there an update, and if so, why can't I see it?
Edit: I haven't checked KiesAir, and I'm not at a machine that can allow me to do that with my phone. I'll try that tonight after work, but if somebody could chime in, I'd still appreciate that.
Apologies in advance if this is posted in the wrong forum or if I'm asking a questions that's been asked a hundred times already. I've tried digging in the forums for an answer, but it's far too time-consuming and produces little or no results.

Hi Diashi!
1. Q & A Forum is the right place to ask - no reason to be worried.
2. You bought the LTE version (GT-I9305) ??? - 'cause you only wrote Galaxy S3 - if so, this is the best place to ask.
3. We're not being left behind - but if you got an unlocked and rooted device, you will not receive OTA's (Over The Air Updates)!
You'll have to flash them manually with Odin (Windows), or Heimdall (Linux), or through CWM recovery.
So the first thing you have to do is, check if you have a GT-I9300 (no LTE) or a GT-I9305 (LTE).
And if you still have questions > feel free to ask!

It's an i9300, which has LTE. The phone is not rooted and there are no roms installed. I simply installed SuperSU.apk with CF auto-root to allow root access to apps that require root. I did this so that updating the OS wouldn't be an issue in the future, but i don't know yet if this is absolutely the case.
Thanks for replying KuliX. Anybody else who wishes to weigh in, it's all appreciated.
Edit for clarification.

To your understanding:
Go to Settings > About device > model number
GT-I9300 = no LTE
GT-I9305 = LTE
there is definitely no device with Model number GT-I9300 AND LTE!!!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU!!!
CF-auto-root means = your phone is ROOTED - not just for some apps which require root - YOUR WHOLE DEVICE IS ROOTED!
The only different is, you do not have a custom recovery like CWM.

Ahhh, I see. So if KiesAir turns out to be fruitless, should I try to install 4.1 somehow through Odin the same way I installed auto-root? I'm not even sure where I would look for instruction to do that. Oh, wait. What about 4.2? Is there a version of that for i9300? Sorry for being such a grunt, but answering these questions should help other people in my same situation.
Also, the wiki for the i9300 says it has voice over LTE, but I'm guessing not data. That's a real disappointment. I thought the i9300 had everything. It's not a deal breaker though.

There is no Android Version higher than 4.1.2 - that's the latest brand new firmware!
You can get it here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware
And I would suggest you to switch over to GT-I9300 forum - cause you will run into heavy problems if you flash the wrong firmware!!!
And YES - you can flash newer firmware with Odin!
I'll give this a go and might report back later. You've been a great help, KuliX. Thanks!
I am happy to report that my phone was able to update from 4.0 to 4.1 through Kies (not KiesAir) - while I was using CF auto-root - without a single hitch. Everything is in place as it was before the update: rooted apps, settings and all.
Special thanks to Chainfire for making CF auto-root, an my life a lot easier. And thanks KuliX for providing some valuable info.
Hopefully this will help somebody else out there.
A little confused, do you have the 9300 or 9305 as the 9300 does NOT have LTE.
Go to settings>About device
I am a little concerned for you as if you have been sold the 9300 as having LTE it does not! So you may not have something that you have paid for.

The seller on eBay had a long stat and feature page which said the phone had LTE. Technically, it does - for voice. But not for data. This isn't something that I was aware of until KuliX brought it up. I'm not disheartened, though. T-Mobile seems to have plenty of HSPA+ in Los Angeles, and by the time they get real LTE up next year (probably summer or later), some new Samsung whatever will be out and I'll just rotate to that.
The i9300 I bought was for $620 (roughly), and included tax and shipping. It's the best price I could find. Little details like this are something I'll consult with members on XDA in the future, before I buy. This was really just my mistake.
Edit: sentence structure.
As long as you are happy! That is what counts!

that can be changed it can do it on data too voice and data use the same paths thrue the modem and radio you just have to flash it to the firmware
of the SCH-T999 to the radio or edit it to include the data portion the radios and modems are same between phones im allmost 95% sure of that
based on my resarch of the phones and also on the I9305 the same. T-mobile doesnt have 4G or LTE they use the 1700mhz band Odd Tiering
both the SCH-T999 and the Samsung GT-i9300 have the same radios and modem its my theory that if you add the firmware from the T-999 are the same , now dont get confused the Roms are diffrent because quad core vs dual core and the Snapdragon S4 processor is in the T-mobile version but that has nothing to do with the modem or the radio modules, its all programming.. because if you look at the spects for the T-mobile side version T999 version it doesnt even list the LTE for regional now guys let me say some thing why would they use LTE for voice when GSM has more then enough for the band space for voice? that makes no sense...its the FCC regulation and certification of operation, its just programming guys that is all.

[Q] HTC One T-Mobile Wifi Calling Port

Originally, I posted this on the beginner's thread, but no one would help me
So I decided to make a new thread.
I have an unlocked HTC One 32GB purchased directly from HTC, and discovered that it could not use the wifi-calling function of t-mobile. So, I managed to unlock the bootloader and root, but don't know what to do now.
How can I just add the wifi calling option in the settings, and restore the apps I lost while unlocking the bootloader?
Also, can I get official updates from HTC, even though I'm rooted?
Please, make the answers user-friendly (I'm very new to this community and android- first android phone!)
Any help is very much appreciated.

You need a ROM that supports wifi calling. After you unlocked your bootloader, you need to either flash the stock T-Mobile ROM or a custom ROM that has wifi calling built in. Keep in the mind that a lot of the newer ROMs using 4.2 base do not support wifi calling yet so you need something with a 4.1.2 base. I'm using ARHD 9.4 and wifi calling works flawlessly. Hope this helps.

[Q] Custom ROM Support for Dual SIM?

Hello all,
This question prompted by the latest AOKP build, which got me thinking about finally flashing a custom ROM. I've got the HTC One, China Unicom version (802w), with the dual SIM card. I'd like to keep using two SIMs, if possible, but there's not much information over in the support thread on whether or not dual SIMs are supported. If anyone knows (or is willing to ask for me - not enough posts to post there), I'd appreciate it :good:
Not sure if necessary, but here's more info: unlocked bootloader, but haven't flashed anything custom onto it (also, S-ON still, etc. etc.). Have installed GApps using the HTC app for doing that. Successfully grabbed the OTA update from a couple weeks ago, and am currently running Android 4.2.2. Let me know if any more information is needed.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Please Help Me (Support Needed)

Hello, I just wanted to say I just made an account and this site looks awesome but anyways lets get into the problem.
So, I have recently flashed my ATT Galaxy S5 to a stock 4.4.2 ROM because I was having troubles with updating to Lollipop, Now that I have contacted ATT, I am now outside the boundaries of ATT and they said I am "on my own" because I decided to mess with the firmware and such. I also want to inform you that I am pretty techy and I am really good with modding and stuff like that so I am not dumb, I am just new into the "exploiting" "modding" "hacking" smart phones, I had a past history on modding and jailbreaking famous CFW for the PS3.
I need someone to explain to me step by step on how to flash to Lollipop since I can't get it over the air and having att not wanting to support me because I changed and altered the firmware. I want to get the best modified version of Lollipop and the best one you guys recommend. I need help, I am basic as of now and need help on flashing my phone to a good lollipop firmware.
Currently, I am on KitKat 4.4.2 and yes, STILL on 4.4.2, I am really behind on the updates and I need help on getting Lollipop and at this point, I don't care about custom firmware, I just want something bad ass, and since I joined the exploiting and flashing custom ROMS, I am here to start to have fun with the benefits you can do with flashing custom ROMS.
Reply and help me step by step on how to flash to Lollipop, I seen the Twisted Lollipop, that looked cool.
But keep in mind that I am still on kitkat 4.4.2

If you didn't take the ota use this.
You don't want the update man.. You will lock up your bootloader.
Also even if u never plan root... It's still best to stay with KitKat. Lolipoop imposes stricter permissions and you will have less control over the device.
I wish I could go back.. My phones updated and now I'm stuck.
If you truly do want to upgrade... Do it threw a manual process that will allow you to change later if you choose.. The ota update is the last thing you want

Advice on installing Custom Rom on SM-G900A & SM-G900V

Hi all,
Im new to this website but not new to installing customs ROM's on phones. Its been a while but i did it years ago on my S3. Also, I know there are probably threads out there already for this so if this is just a redundant question please forward me to the right place b/c i haven't been able to find a clear answer on my own.
So here is my situation. I have a SM-G900A that I requested and unlock code from AT&T for and is now "unlocked" and I am running android 6.0.1. My girlfriend has a SM-G900V that is supposedly been unlocked by verizon and i moved over to my AT&T account and its working fine (with the exception of lack of LTE data). To my understanding it is not possible to flash a custom ROM on either of these if they are on anything post android 5.0 release. Is this true? I have not been able to find any custom ROM build that say they are made for these models and TWRP doesnt have a version specific to these either.
Has anyone successfully put customer ROM's/bootloaders on either of these 2 devices? I have really only used Cyanogenmod in the past and was very happy with it. But all i have seen is that people say that these 2 models are SOL if they have android v.6 on them.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Check the link below, the first 4 posts or so have the information on downgrading and rooting. I don't know about the Verizon version, the AT&T version bootloader is completely locked down so we can not flash a custom recovery like twrp. Flashfire works like a charm though. The custom roms are limited and pretty much lollipop variants. There is currently no root or custom Rom for marshmallow.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3516196
flashfire gives the error "Please update SuperSU to v.2.40 or newer" which I already have. I tried the older ones 1st and it gives the same error. I am not sure what to think about it except I got it to work before with the exact same files from what I recall. is there another proceedure perhaps?
