I thought I read somewhere that with good lock, you can get rid of the green battery? Is this true?
Sent from my SM-N930T using XDA-Developers mobile app
I haven't found a way to alter the battery in good lock anywhere. All it does is change the icons to MM style in the status bar.
Ya...I hate all this green battery crap
If you download version .12 and not .14 or .15 from apkmirror, it will use the white icon in the OS. The AOD and power menu keep the green icon. You also lose a little bit of added customization features availble on the new versions of Good Lock, but I'll take that over a dumbass green icon.
I was curious and went to the galaxy apps and ran a search for good lock. I have never installed good lock on this phone but it's there. Is this part of the new updated touch wiz? What happens if we uninstall it?

Okay, so I rooted and installed Cyanogen earlier; what cool things can I do with root?
Also, wow. My phone feels so much more responsive now. Just an aside.

Currently using Cyanogen. There a list of apps for root or anything? That's really what I'm looking for.
Quick post: themes. Where do I get them? Are they the morphs in the themes and apps section?
Go to the themes section and read the morphs threads. Install metamorph from the market and go to town. I spent days with new black status bars, battery icons, etc. Check for black matte, or desire icons, its so nice.

Gotcha. Thanks!
to the OP
you know you will have a much shorter list if you refraised the title "list of things that you CANT do when rooted". being rooted lets you do anything you could want on a android phone.

True. I'm just wondering if there's a list of apps, common things to do, etc.
Also: Metamorph doesn't seem to be working for me? Trying to apply BlackMatte and it has been sitting on res-framework.apk for hours now.

You know the first time I tried to apply with metamorph it sat there forever, and I thought I did something wrong. I forced it closed, reboot, and then tried again and it worked.

Ah, should've thought of that. One more question: what app is it that puts a notification with battery temp, health, etc in the tray?

Well battery life widget is what many use, which puts temp, voltage, and percentage on a widget. Make sure you enable extended info in its settings.
I don't like the battery running in notification bar. I like a clean running status bar, so a home screen widget is better for me.
If you use cyanogen, percentage goes right over top of the battery icon itself.

I found the notification one, which I like except it places a second battery icon in the notification bar, instead of just the tray. I like the info in the tray though. Anything similar to that out there?

yeah well there is one that will put it in your notification bar, but i forget the name. and cyanogen puts the percentage on the actual batery icon. its in spare parts in the cyanogen ROM.
Is there any way to get a battery meter in % on a stock based ROM? I'm on the CR OTA ROM.

BattStatt Is a nice widget that shows percent. Not sure if thats what you are looking for but it has a pretty clean look. Its in the market.
Battery Widget by HTC is also available.
I'm thinkin he means getting the battery status percentage up in the status bar.. like in the battery icon itself.. an option I know was in some of the CM Eclair ROMS for the g1

I use that one too. I like how you can change the display, turn on and off gps wifi and bluetooth with it.
Download the app called "Batteryminder" from the market...you can have it just have the number and percent in the status bar and no icon...you can choose either white or black, have to use white since the status bar is black
I really like "Battery Indicator" located in the market.
just download systray monitor from the market. Select battery level on the select tray sensor and it will show your percentage in the notification bar. This is the best app I've used for this kind of thing IMO plus it shows you other info like free space and available ram.
hi, gave an miui sd build a go but have to say the lack app drawer made it a non starter for me. just had screens full of sprawling app icons. i prefer a minimal screen layout really.
what i really did like was the battery status on top of the screen (just like the topbat prog i used on winmo). there was a also another one on the lock screen just above the lock.
is this something only for miui or is there an app or patch i can use to add into the 'nexus one' sd build i am using now?
that is only for miui.
doh! thanks for quick reply. i will keep looking for similar then
Hello all, here's a mod to get rid of the NFC icon in the statusbar, if you'd rather not be bothered with it. This will work independently of any SystemUI mods you may have, as it modifies LgNfc.odex. Rather than making the icon transparent, this changes the code that puts it in the statusbar and disables it completely, so there won't be any gaps in the statusbar from the empty icon.
To install, flash HideNFCIcon.zip using TWRP.
If you change your mind, RevertNFCIconMod.zip will restore the stock LgNfc.odex and you'll be back to normal.
If anyone's interested in an AT&T version, I can whip one up, but I'll need someone to re-odex it on their device. You'll need to be comfy at a root adb shell. Please PM me if interested.
Works great, thanks!
Does this work on any rom or just stock?
Is this the same E911 icon because other than that, I don't see an NFC icon on my statusbar.
CONFIRMED working for Tmobile

No the e911 icon is the little satellite looking thing, this looks like a white bow with an N in it. still looking for a simple remove e911 mod
Awesome. I'm used to just having NFC enabled all the time and I hated the icon. Thanks.

Is it possible to remove the NFC icon if you are not rooted?
The phone has the root detection built into it.. don't really want to void my warranty just yet (only had the phone a week or so)
Thanks for any replies/help.
Worked perfectly - Thanks!
Any chance you could make this work with the 12b ota it would be awesome.

Not sure if it was mentioned but if your using burningembers nav mod, this borks NFC completely on my device. I tried the restore and no go. What I mean is it re sizes the nav bar to original and the option to turn on NFC is completely gone. The icon in status bar is there but does nothing. I know flashing different frameworks from different devs has it's risk and I'm not pissing and moaning. I tested at my own risk and am just sharing. I appreciate any and everybody that makes my device better so please don't take this the wrong way. Just a heads up.
revert back zip
The link for the revert back zip takes me to a download of this file [Chihiro]_Mangaka-san_to_Assistant. Mvk file it's not a zip file and it's 153mb I don't think this is right why such a big file to revert back and do I need to change the. Mvk to. Zip?

Just a quick question that probably has a simple answer. This is my first time with a touchwiz phone and using xposed. I'm still on stock but but rooted and running smooth thanks to titanium backup freezing. I'd like to get my battery icon as white instead of green if that is possible? And also for the quick toggels to glow white when activated instead of green.
And, I don't think this is possible at all, but is there a way to change the notification tray to look more AOSP?

It is possible. My favorite way to do it is with Wanam Xposed Module by Wanam. My ROM (AzureROM) comes with this preinstalled...check it out!
What he said.. Wanam should be able to accomplish what you want. make sure you install the module, framework, etc etc. all properly for it to work
