Hello, I hope I'm right here. I want to give my daughter for Christmas a tray, and had at the Fire Kids Edition Tablet, 17.8 cm (7 inch) display, Wi-Fi, 16 GB, blue Suitable for Children Cases
thought. I would like tab but rooten and also use the normal AppStore. the CM Mod would me very interested. is this possible with the TAB? thank you
Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

Yes, but make sure to NOT install updates or else it may not root. Make sure to remove ota updates asap because this tablet updates by itself

Hi, trank you for your answer.
I think i shout disable ota, an WLAN and than i root it?
How do i can root it?
How can i Install The CM Mod?
Have you a HowTo for me?
Thank you

Kid's edition can be handled the same manner as any other 5th gen Fire. There are plenty of instructions throughout this forum that address your questions. Start with the index and keep reading. You will likely find the SuperTool quite helpful. If the details seem overwhelming you should reconsider your options.

I used this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/orig-development/rom-fire-nexus-rom-lmy49f-t3300714 A while back I tried other ROMs and they had sound issues (not sure it was fixed or not)

I believe sound issues in CM 12.1 were addressed in a subsequent build. That said, Fire Nexus is solid choice. Can't go wrong with either.

Hi,
can one tell me all in German? My English is not the best, and then I am afraid to do something wrong.
If I understand correctly I can with the Super Tool Fire Kids rooten.
But then how do I get as CM on it?
thank you

It's just a shoot from the hip, but I got the feeling that it is somehow related with TheftAware.
Anyone else wondering about this and had TheftAware or the Avast Security (which contains TheftAware) installed?

Yes actualy i did, you see some people use these forums to see if there is a simpler way to do things, in my case i did not want to.....back up my stuff (9 gigs worth) flash stock reboot, setup my account, ota update, root, flash kernel and then restore my stuff for something stupid. RULE #1 ALWAYS RETURN TO STOCK TO RULE OUT WHAT EVER CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE ARE NOT CAUSING THE ISSUE
It really irks me to think how many units have been RMA'd and the consequences of increased cost of future devices because noobs don't have the common sense to follow this basic rule.
Mods can you please make a sticky?

Useful information.
Anyway, it's happening to me and I haven't found a solution. I did read this thread though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20540860&postcount=9
I'm guessing it's normal for him... but OP says it's gone.
weird.
Wow i forgot all about this thread. I flashed stock and it fixed it, after that i did a little reading through google and i found that there is nothing wrong when this is happening. Although it shouldn't really do it. But its ok, just more of an annoyance.

your n7 cleaned his cache with every reboot
i think you can implement this into your startup script obviously it is too late to find it out now but i think we could have fixed it without complete wipe although if ,,you'' played around with your system without knowing it it is a good time to do a full wipe.
that s how i do it with my phones and tablets: it behaves in a way i don't expect it to do -> wipe.

S5 Mini (G800F) - recommendable phone?

Hi guys and girls,
short question, but important:
Is the G800F a good shot? What are your experiences? A family member wants to buy a new phone (a mini version, because its mini ), so I recommended the S5 Mini.
Please tell me some negs and pros, before we buy the wrong phone..
S5 is brilliant, so I hope the mini is it, too..
Thank you

all other things are the same no need to worry
The phone is not in my hands then, I can not flash it because of 600 kilometers between us so the phone gets lollipop when sammy released it.. Would it be mine, I would flash cm or similar one
We hope that sammy really pushes the update out.. Talking about marshmallow is a joy, just not more than a good joke, I believe...

I came from a desire hd to g800f (uk)
Run the software updates asap, fix quite a few issues.
Phone size is similar, but lighter.
Battery, providing you don't keep 4g/sync/gps on all the time you'll see 2-3 days normal use even more if you don't use it much. I've had 7 days so far.
Speed, well I had an old smart phone so this is incredible.
All apps I've used work well except sphere camera.
The only downsides, bundled Samsung crap and the emoticons in messages like to use mms over sms so watch out on that part.
The screen always turns on when receiving sms and I've accidentally gone through menus and called people from my pocket.
Depending which pocket you put it in, I find I press the screen on button in my right pocket so need to carry in my left.
Overall, it's good & well priced

Baterie no good
I come from S4 Mini. For me it was a big biiiig update: LED notification, larger screen, HD display, etc etc... S5 is by far better then the S4 in my eyes. BUT!
I am aswell a flash-o-holic - I always need to have the perfect rom for my uses - and the S4 Mini was in these terms godlike. My last flashings were a few month ago..
The S5 Mini especially the 800F isnt somehow... loved enough?.. to get some custom Roms. I am curently on CM12.1 by hennymcc (TY for your work!) and I am not really satisfied with this rom and it needs some improvements (photo quality, cant connect to my bt box..)
I really am thinking of turning back to stock...
Next consideration is: this device is forgotten by samsung.
5.1.1 will be released 2019! *jk
I am in sort of a pickle. I've had the S5 for a couple months now and I, too, come from a phone that had an amazing variety of choices when it came to ROMs. Unfortunately (I live in Germany), I have the G00F and there is only 1 ROM currently available (CM12.1) and it is still in beta development. The ROM was sort of useable but crashed quite a bit), but the bluetooth worked perfectly. I went back to the stock ROM and everything works great, but the bluetooth is terrible. The phone is pretty much unusable when the bluetooth is on and connected with headphones or something else. Other than bluetooth issues, the phone works perfectly.
how exactly is it unusable? did you try re-flashing your device or did you use any third party bluetooth apps?
Im curious cause I think I will really go back to stock.

Thanks for your work I just installed last night and I have noticed I'm not seeing my 5ghz WiFi network. I herd of this problem on the newer cm13 as well but stayed on an older nightly. Is there a work around?
Edit:
And now I'm getting terrible audio outbursts of loud ticking. I'm running without mods(xposed or kernel) and minimal root apps(and only baked in root/privacy guard) right now. Also no restores of any kind.
About 5ghz can anyone confirm this, could not test it cause use the old 2,4ghz.
What did you mean with audio outbursts? In which situation meaning what did you do befor you faced it?
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5
I was using a set of Bluetooth headphones but already turned them off. I went to my recents then randomly the speaker just got loud and started making noise(best way to describe it was a clicking). Since I rebooted the phone I haven't noticed it but I'll be listening to music via Bluetooth today so I'll see if it happens again.
I tried installing this on a kltevzw and it wouldn't install (figured that since this was posted in the unified ROM forum that it would work on any SG5...whoops). Any chance you could make a kltevzw version or point me in the direction of an updated CM12.1 kltevzw ROM? Thanks!
@AddictedToB3er will try to repruduce this little problem as soon as i find time.
@Clevinger this is just for klte variants, kltevzw isn't supported. Will see how many people are interested in, to get it also for kltevwz... If there are at least 5 people interested, then i'll build also for this vatiant.

This rom won't be developed any further. Like you I was also unhappy with cm13 and with marshmallow generally, but now tried and am really happy with Blisspop v6.4, that runs smooth and has got some more cool additional features compared to cm13.. Phone works, audio of calls does not. Small difference because phone would mean that LTE data network does not work too and this is not the case. Well, in theory this is a tablet and not a phone, but I am quite shocked how many ppl seem to need a 10"/8" phone with them. Last word is not spoken out yet here, but no one has a clue why it does not work. The guy behind RIL says it's audio, the guy behind the device specific code says it's RIL. Yes, one of both is wrong a bit... ^^
I don't need a 10/8" Phone. My tablet is mounted in Car for Navigation and Music playing. For that it is connected via BT to car audio.
In Germany it is forbidden (for understandeable reasons) to hold Phones in hand during the ride. So then the Tablet should also be able to make calls over BT, what works properly on stock.
Additionally Google Assistant should be able to start these calls (voice recognition), what actually NOT works on stock. This last issue is the only reason why i'm searching for another ROM.
I simply dont want to press any button on the device during the ride.
By the qay on my Galaxy S7 google assistant works fine with same android Version.
Sorry for my bad English. I hope you understand me.
