LG Flex Wifi - LG G Flex

My LGFlex Wifi quit working - the button was a different blue and when switched on did not show any wifi sources - then the button would switch off
I tried a factory reset - all data gone ( which is okay) but it did nothing to help
Since I live in China I have to use a VPN and because of what they say is a mismatch of systems I cannot get 3 G only the Edge
Any help getting wifi back would be greatly appreciated

[Q] P970 WIFI lost connection and does not reconnect

Hi there everybody,
a few days ago my P970 started to go crazy a bit. It suddenly lost Wifi connection and won't reconnect. The Wifi symbol in the status bar looks like it is connecting, but nothing happens. Additionally, under the wifi settings, the on-off switch of the wifi is light grey (greyed out) and does not react anymore on my input.
As I could not find any further information on this topic, I decided to do a factory reset followed by a reflash of the V30B (Europe open; Android 4.0.4) and another factory reset as well as format of the SD-card. After that I did not encounter any problems until I finally wanted to customize my phone again with apps etc.
Last night again I lost the connection to Wifi and just decided to see what will happen. Until now (16 hours later) the Wifi icon is still kind of showing a connection attempt and is flashing non-stop and under settings the wifi-switch is still grey.
Anyone got an idea what could be wrong with my phone? Hardware or Software problem? If I leave Wifi switched off, there is no problem with the phone, but it sucks if one cannot use the wifi...

Well maybe think about, what MODs (like PimpMyROM) and apps you installed. Maybe one of them causes the strange behaviour... If you say it works, till you start to customize it, it probably is a problem with any customization...

Make sure something will trigger Wi-Fi AP. If yes, Wi-Fi will not turn on, and the button is greyed out.
Excuse my bad English.

WIFI not Working

Recently I updated my phone LG p990/optimus 2x to ICS 4.0.4 original V30a, by AIO toolkit,
everything works fine, but now the Wifi does not work.
Let me give details
================
when i turn it on, it discovers networks and immediately say the network is out of range.
i try several tools from playstore to repair it but it does not work.
the apps from playstore always say inactive. i tried wifi fixer, hotspot problems, etc.
However, the portable wifi works, - meaning i can broadcast wifi from my phone but i cant recieve,
my data charges are becoming huge.
Your Help is really appreciated.

I had a similair problem. Just switch to a custom ROM or StockBased ROM
Have you tried a factory reset?

[Q] XT1058 Can't connect to WiFi

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post here so I will try to be clear and short.
I'm using a Moto X XT1058, first, Stock Br Android 5.1 Firmware, unlocked bootloader I had a long time since I upgraded from 4.4.4, until yesterday everything went normal, when I arrived home from work I noticed my phone didn't connect automatically to my house lan, so I tried to manually select the SSID on the WiFi menu and I clicked connect, then, instead of the "connecting" > "Assigning IP Address" > "connected" steps, it changed to saved and no connection was made, and every time I try it does the same. I tried almost everything I could to fix this and the result is the same (images attached):
- Clicked on forgot, and tried again with the correct password.
- Reset my router to factory and upgraded firmware.
- Switched over different wireless authentication methods, even open.
- No firewall or MAC filtering is activated on my router.
- Wireless settings are the default, I can connect with any other device except my phone works( Notebook, Desktop with Wireless adapter, my dad's phone Moto G).
- I made a factory reset on my MotoX, switched over 5.1, I made a downgrade to 4.4.4, full wipe, loaded a past backup with twrp, flashed via mfastboot manually, switched again to a fresh install of 5.1, still can't connect.
- I read something about cleaning wifi cache and accessing wlan test and test wifi drivers using dialer code *#*#526#*#* but it didn't work on mine, also read something about checking wireless interface using a root terminal, but honestly I'm starting to lose faith on this...
I like this phone so much and I don't wanna expend on another unless this really doesn't have any fix.
When going to the WiFi Options (three dots bottom right on the WiFi screen) make sure "Avoid poor connections" isn't checked, also try selecting the right band (2,4 or 5GHz) manually. Also turn of "WiFi Optimization", unlikely that this causes your problems but overall this setting will bring you into trouble before it saves a noteable amount of battery. Do you see a MAC Address on the bottom there? On your router manually set a channel (on 2,4 GHz try 7, should be pretty empty there). Try enabling WiFi on your phone while your routers WiFi is off, then turn on the router. Maybe you can solve this by manually restarting the service on the phone through terminal or adb if you have root, that works for me although I had a little different problem:
su
svc wifi disable
svc wifi enable
disable first even if you disabled through the menubutton.
I tried

Hello and thanks for replying! I tried what you suggested with no luck, today I noticed the problem got worse... not my phone doesn't detects any wifi signal...
I think this is a hardware failure problem and I have yo buy another phone
Any other ideas?
Sad to hear that, one last thing you could try is removing the battery. Since this isn't possible without disassembly there's a trick I got from the Motorola Service, they call it Hung State Recovery:
This works as if the battery was removed from the device. Since it is built-in it is impossible
to remove the battery for it would void the warranty.
This process terminates all running commands from the processor allowing it to start anew.
No Data will be lost in the process.
With the device switched OFF (even if the device is not turning ON at all) follow the steps
bellow.
1. Please press and hold the VOL DOWN key
2. While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
3. Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. It must be more than 2 minutes!
4. After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
5. The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
6. Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.

Unlikkely that this will help but it's just 2 minutes and at least a chance.
It's alive again

Hello again... I almost gived up since yesterday but I don't know why, I wanted to try again... I even ordered a new phone from an online shop... but I just tried to connect to my wifi, and the reason why it wasn't detecting any APs was because I left the 5.0 Ghz band activated on one of my failed attempts to get Wifi working. Just switched again to automatic, clicked on my home AP and authenticated with my password and Bingo! It worked...
Not sure why but it got fixed somehow
Thanks for helping me out, I would try to sell it since I got a new one.
Good to hear that, that's a pretty common issue as it seems why I already suggested forcing the phone to use the right band. Don't set to automatic if you don't need both frequencies. Instead of selling the Moto X why don't you ship the new one back? If still sealed you shouldn't have problems getting a refund and in terms of one hand useable screen size, memory and cpu power you shouldn't need more until it comes to games or some strange kinds of usage where everybody clear in mind would choose a laptop.

[Q] Wifi 'error' and not turning on

Hi everyone,
So recently I flashed venom 9.0.0 onto my phone from venom 7.0.1 but after flashing the rom, there were some issues with the wifi. At first, it would connect for a few minutes then disconnect. I would then have to restart the phone and it would work for a bit again. Later on, it would connect for a few minutes, disconnect from the wifi (but I could still see the SSID in the wifi menu) and would require me to go to wifi settings-> advanced-> toggle scanning always available-> turn wifi off/on (or sometimes a reboot) and it would work for a little while again. I found that switching the WiFi frequency band to 2.4ghz helped solve the issue temporarily.
However, just yesterday, the wifi stopped working completely and would be stuck turning on for half a minute, then display and 'error' in the settings menu.
I have already tried to reflash the rom (wiping system, cache, dalvik cache) and I have also tried flashing boot.img, none of which helped fix the issue.
If anyone knows of a way to fix this or even a potential fix, I would greatly appreciate your help
Thanks!

Huawei P9 WiFi issues

Hello,
The WiFi on the phone just stopped working ~2 months after a factory reset. It was simply running stock (Android 7.0 with all the Huawei crap) and was barely used, no SIM or anything. It still connects to the network, reporting an excellent connection and even exchanging a few bytes of data every so often, but trying to load anything up like a web page simply reports there isn't an internet connection. Every other device on the network works flawlessly.
I tried resetting network settings; then all settings; messing with DNS settings; connecting to a different band of the network; opening up the phone and checking the antenna... And that's where my surface knowledge stops. I'd wipe the cache partition (?) through the EMUI recovery (Vol Up + Power), but whoever designed the Huawei Recovery is......... As it requires an update before I can even do any basic functions on my phone and well, I can't update because I can't get WiFi to work.
I'm not keen on trying to unlock this device and load any ROMs or anything, I'd simply like to sort the WiFi issue out. But need be I could. Any and all help in troubleshooting this is welcome.
Cheers
