Will we receive Wear 2.0 or any possibility of a beta image?

What with Google Android Wear coming out, has anyone thought about creating a custom Android Wear distro for our Gear? Even if Samsung does come out with a new firmware that is based on Android Wear for our Gear, I think an opensource version would probably be far more desirable than a tamed down and customized version.... For instance it won't be automatically tied to S Voice, and we can use whatever voice assistant we desire.
Now that my Gear Live is updated to Marshmallow, I noticed that the original Android Wear face that I liked is not on the watch anymore, so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get it?
Hi guys, what software version you have on your LG Watch Sport?
I have:
Wear: 2.0.0.154764778
Android: 7.1.1
Patch level: 5 December 2016
Build: NQF43E
And I do not see any OTA updates
What is your version?
If there is a newer build available - can I update manually or force OTA?
Yes the same, although I have updated quite a few system apps that have altered the interface, for example the alarm clock interface is now totally different, originally it was like my Sony Smartwatch 3.
the same here
Thanks for confirming.
Strange that LG/Google are not pushing any security updates.
My other watch (Huawei Watch 2) is updated to 5 April 2017 patch level.
Same build here too... 12/5 security
Android wear system app on my watch updated this morning, second time in the last 2 weeks.
Not sure what the changes are though.
My LG G Watch R has updated to Android Wear 2.0 and since then the Whatsapp notifications are not working properly. The watch vibrates every time there is a new notification but it doesn't show anything in ambient mode unless i get a second notification from whatsapp. This issue only happens with this app. I did a factory reset on the watch, reinstalled android wear, reinstalled whatsapp, used different custom roms and also updated everything but nothing seems to work. Any help?
Info:
Wearable:
LG G Watch R
Android Wear 2.0.0.152277922

Android OS 7.1.1
Smartphone:

Google Play Services: 11.0.55
Android OS 6.0.1
Thanks in advance!
I've searched the web, so far I haven't found anyone that has received Wear OS 2.11.0 on their watch. I have Wear OS 2.10.0 which updated on March 9, 2018. I found a list of watches that are supposed to get the new Wear OS and the G Watch R is not on it but Wear shows up as "Wear OS" on my watch. A friend of mine has a Huawei Watch 2, he already has Android 8 and Wear OS 1.1
Has anyone received the new April update on their watch?

Received yesterday.

Yup I've got it too. WearOS is technically just the launcher skin that the watch runs. No functionality change apart from the branding that I can see.
The thing our watch won't get afaik is an update to oreo.
My watch still does not work with Wear OS. Is there any way to check the update?

I have noticed some improvements in Android Wear/WearOS through the versions. For instance, there was one version of Android Wear that caused my favorite watch face design app (Pujie Black) to not load properly on restart. The next Android Wear version that came along fixed the issue.
