Known bugs:
- None
Old method
The patch is simple, just replace your build.prop with the one on the link:
http://wamod.ml/xda/nexus6p/opa/heavybuild.prop
After replacing the build.prop wipe your data.
If long pressing the home button stills opens Google Now be sure you have the Google App (Velvet) updated (6.5.35.21 or newer), or wipe your data and try again.
Known bugs:
- Stock camera crashes
- "There's an internal problem with your device" dialog on boot.
If Google Assistant is not showing up you can try wiping the Google app data too.
Good luck! And have some fun

are there any adverse effects by changing the device name to Pixel? I'm asking because in the past with other non Nexus devices doing this would cause issues with the play store and such.

I did it pushing the file via ADB on TWRP.
Check if the file is not corrupt, if it's on the right location (/system/build.prop), or the permissions are right (644).

Are you using stock NBD90X from the "Factory Images for Nexus Devices" site?
Also, I did a clean install. Try wiping data.

Will do this in a bit, Excited! Thanks

Be sure you're using stock Google NBD90X ROM with no modifications and the permissions of the build.prop file are right (644 or 777).

KRT16S factory image now available!

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Google have released factory images of an updated 4.4 build (KRT16S). No idea yet as to what is different in this build but hopefully it fixes some bugs people may be facing or even have the GE launcher included this time.

Ok.. this I never tested on the original image - in a full screen app/game, were you able to pull down the notification menu like on N5?
Or is that now just with the updated image?
It's said some bug has been fixed?I wonder which bug it is,maybe flashable zip will coming soon, and try it out by person.

Ok good, great feature but I didn't run the original image long enough to think of trying it, since I just updated to this new one
Just trying to see if anything was added is all.. hah
Don't see anything different yet, and I wasn't experiencing any issues prior to this that I was aware of either, so time will tell
There is a slight change with the kernel version and it shows a more recent date below it. So maybe some change in the kernel.

If it's just APN settings changes, then I'm curious as to why my WiFi Nexus 7 2012 just got the OTA? Must be something more to it than just APNs, or I can't see why Google would bother updating their wireless Nexus devices...

[ROM] Skinny Kat 4.4.2 I9505GUEUBML4 [Google Experience]

[ROM] SKINNY KAT 4.4.2 I9505G ML4 [GOOGLE EXPERIENCE]
Welcome to the Skinny Kat ROM for the I9505G Google Edition Galaxy S4. This ROM is a lite version of ML4 based off of SamuriHL Odin package. ( Thanks SamuriHL ). Skinny Kat includes the Google Experience Launcher with Search, “Ok Google”. In order to package this ROM I used disk internals to unpack the system.img.ext4 from the Odin firmware package and then made my cuts and additions from there, everything else was packaged up in Dsixda Android Kitchen, thanks dsixda, also Thanks to wilbarger for his tireless help in resolving issues and testing.
PLEASE NOTE: I have not tested this myself because I no longer have the I9505G, I am running the N5 now. I am planning on adding some custom features and modifications to Skinny Kat so if you are interested in being a tester please let me know. occuapational_hazard & SamuriHL have been helping out but its good to have a few more because we all have busy lives.
[ PLEASE DO NOT ASK IF YOU CAN FLASH THIS ON ANY OTHER PHONE BUT THE I9505G]
[Disclaimer] I nor anyone on this forum or XDA is responsible if you brick your phone; lose your job, or life as we know it ends. Modifying any phone comes with risk. You assume all those risks so please read and review the instructions carefully and if your still lost then use the search button. If your still lost ask someone we are here to help.

Merry Christmas RESERVED. Screenshots coming
Thanks for the Christmas present. Am downloading and will test. Glad to see some of the junk removed.
On first glance, when I tried to check an voice mail message, the screen goes black and it never goes to voice mail. This may be an issue with my phone as I cannot get rid of the voice mail notification icon no matter what I try. I do not have any messages waiting, but the icon will not go away even with other ROM's now.
EDIT: Just did a full wipe of phone and reinstalled your ROM. I tried to make a call and get black screen followed by short vibrations and after 20 seconds the screen comes back on. Cannot make calls. Still working on the VM icon. EDIT: Got rid of the VM icon. Phone dialing still borked.

Is it possible that you can Odin back and delete the apps only ( not the wallpapers ) from TB then install GE launcher ( not search ) and convert it in TB to a system app. Then create a folder on your desktop and open up a command prompt inside that folder and type "adb pull system" ( without quotes) and upload the file and send me a link? Lmk. Thanks Wil.
Oh and before you pull the system image and after you delete the apps and install GE launcher you would make sure everything still works this would help me figure out what's causing issues on my end.

I think TWRP is breaking some things during install can you try cwm recovery from the I9505G thread and see if it is causing the same problems
Seems 4.4 keeps having issues once it's installed and it varies as the problems are reported. Please post in here

I did a full wipe and tried with both TWRP and CWM recoveries. Both went into a loop at the Google logo. Restarted in recovery and wiped again with the same result.
By the way, the issues with the boot loop that I am having are NOT with the ROM posted in the OP. That loads and boots for me, but I cannot make or place calls with it.
If anyone can try the ROM in the OP and report back your results, it would be greatly appreciated.

AOSP Gallery App

One of the things I missed was the AOSP gallery, especially since I usually disable google+. I pulled the apk off an AOSP build and signed.
Attached is the apk. You should be able to install it like any other app (runs fine for me on the nexus 6 and galaxy note 3).
Update:
To get the editor working install the new Gallery2L-signed.apk
Then unzip libjni_filtershow_filters.zip and copy libjni_filtershow_filters.so to /system/lib and chmod 644 it (rw-r--r--)
This is only necessary if you want the editor to work.
Works great.. Only the editor doesn't work. FC but it'll do.. ?

In general, the newer "crap" works just fine or better for the majority. It is people with specific requirements where they want something other than the built-in Android applications.
Not to mention most people buy from OEM's that tend to replace those apps or supplement them with their own versions.

I believe you have to have the aosp camera installed as that is where it pulls the settings from.
I'll see if there's an alternative way. Do you know what shows up normally there? (i.e. what settings do you change for gallery?)

Basically, deodexing the ROM and deleting bloatware seems to be doing the trick. But which app in particular is causing the issue is yet to be known.

I just flashed it mostly google apps that you can get from the play store ( in the case of chrome if it does not work there is always apkmirror )
Also for your deodexed file size, well as far as my limited layman understanding goes deodexed files aren't compressed hence large size.
@lee480 Everything is working fine. Thanks. But the nav bar icons are huge! :-o. Is there anyway they can be made as small as Google's stock icons while still being aligned? Might be even better if you could do a version with the stock circle icon instead of Sony's home.

Could reduce the nav bar height, but trying to change the icons or theme aren't giving the desired results. Changing the theme results in skewed and stretched icons for some reason. Thank you anyway

You need to install lollipop and flash. Before wiping cache. And not wipe system.
Wipe dalvik cache?

Same here:
starting from Lollipop, flashed first z2_deodex_23.1.A.0.690.zip,
wiped cache and dalvik / ART (NOT system!)
rebooted
error message: com.android.phone has stopped
I tried different recoveries, same result.
Please, can s.o. confirm MD5 of z2_deodex_23.1.A.0.690.zip

New Nexus Launcher APK

The new Nexus launcher is out. I put it on my Google Drive:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9CUTJwl1NVNbUxMakNrWWI2X0U/view?usp=sharing
On tap still works the same. For Google Now you have to hit the "G" once and then again on the search screen to pull it up.
In case you get to much traffic to your google drive and they stop allowing others to download here is the apk file
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651430732235327
and here is the flashable zip
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24659351692116189
Not trying to step on your toes or steal you thunder for this post but a couple people that have shared with google drive have had the file frozen/disabled for others to download because of too many downloads.

OK flashed the zip. Everything seems to be OK.
The only thing I don't like is now out takes 2 steps to get to the Google voice command input thing

As someone who has used feature-rich launchers for years (nova, action, adw etc) I don't see any appeal to this launcher. Am I missing something?
Flashed the zip and everything is working fine here except the date doesn't change unless I clear Nexus Launcher app data. Annoying because I have to reconfigure my home screens

Use root explorer, root/system/priv-app, drop apk there and install.
