I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I used to have AT&T as a carrier for the phone, now I do not have a carrier. I want to unlock my phone and preferably not pay for it I tried the method outlined at android and me and several other site, ( it involves using the number *#197328640#)
I was unable to use this method because I could not find a UMTS menu.
The only other way I found to unlock the phone was to root it. I wanted to use Odin and CF Auto Root to do but I could not find a version for my device, (Samsung-SM-N900A).
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Im in the same place need to Root At&t galaxy note 3 5.0 N900a where can I find the files
You can only network unlock the phone with a code.
As far as I know, all of the note series is carrier unlocked. if it's not, you have to call your respective carrier and ask them to unlock it. Rooting your phone is another story. I just got off live chat with Samsung and they can't remove the bootloader lock on my OC2 N900a. This will prevent me from buying any other samsung product in the future, not even considering the note 7 b.s.
The n900a is an at&t phone and pretty much every at&t phone is carrier and bootloader locked. Same goes for sprint and Verizon.
Didn't realize oc2 also had the n900a as I thought the U.K. And Europe had the n9005.
Most of the note phones sold by a carrier are network locked.
I I have a note 4 tmobile my dad wants to use in Mexico.
It has tekhd custom rom 5.0.1 and I'm going to flash stock 4.4.4 firmware to unroot. Then im going to enter a unlock code iI bought. Will it region lock if I do this although iI have already used it on tmobile network?
I'm worried by resetting device by installing stock firmware and entering unlock code that it will region lock.
Or is there any way iI can have the window to show me where to enter unlock code?
I can not verify this, but i believe this thread can answer your questions and provide you a solution.

This happened to me when I went from stock rooted to Twisted 6 MM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...mkernel-twisted-sixx-mm-v1-epd1-4-25-t3366230)... I tried a couple of different things and nothing worked so I ended up using a reputable online site that did sim unlocking and did it that way. Paid $15. You have to go through the T-Mobile Device Unlock app after you have a sim unlock code and then restart the phone with the new SIM. If you are the original owner of the Tmobile S6 and can provide your original proof of purchase you can call Tmobile and they will provide you an unlock code for free.

Yes, you should be seeing a "enter code" sim lock screen. T-mobile uses a unlock app. if your phone was unlocked before on t-mobile it can be unlocked after you flash back to t-mobile firmware.(and may need to run the unlock app).
I have gone back and fort on 2 of my SM-G920T phones between t-mobile and other firmware including the metro PCS SM-G920T1 one so it should work to go back.
Sounds like you need to re-download the stock t-mobile firmware and flash in odin.

99% sure will be locked again once you go back to t-mobile as they use an app to authenticate.

If it was unlocked before on t-mobile you should be good. most you would need to do is run the t-mobile unlock app. just make sure you have a twrp backup just in case you need to go back to the rom that is working.
I was on AT&T network then i unlocked my phone to use on T-mobile. I want to flash my phone to latest android 6 my question is will i have to unlock it again after i flash to latest firmware? Thank you
Nevermind i figured it out.
