Installed CM13 and getting BSOD when connected to PC - LG Optimus L90

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I installed CM13 and it is very good. I haven't found any problem as of now in my phone but I am getting BSOD everytime when I connect the mobile to my PC through USB. I tried everything from changing the cord to changing the usb port, even uninstalled LG drivers but still getting BSOD.
Can anyone help me to understand and solve this. Right now my only option is to take SD card out and connect it using Card Reader. Phone is working smoothly. No issues so far. Its just this problem is bugging me. Appreciate if you guys can help me out. Thank You.

Okay so I am getting BSOD only when I am enabling the USB Debugging. By disabling USB Debugging I am able to connect the phone to PC but it is only in the charging mode. I am not able to access any files. It is showing blank. So what should I do now?

1st: The USB Debugging problem only occurs on Windows, Linux distros are fine
2nd:Just pull out the status bar and click on the charging one. You'll be given 3 options: charging, MTP and PTP. (Sorry if I misspelled the names, it's been a long time since I've done this)

Thank You. I can now access the files.
Yes I am on Windows 10. USB Debugging BSOD is still an issue. So is it okay to keep USB debugging off? I always keep that option enabled cause I thought its an important option if you happen to brick the device. So what is the solution? is this happening for everyone who are on custom rom?
Thanks once again.

It's okay to leave it off. If you happen to brick your device, it won't boot, meaning no USB debugging.

Yes, Never bricked the device Thanks to XDA members who are always there to help novice like me from every situation. Thank You.

Someone post answer in cm13 thread - some issues with drivers from LG with cm roms compilations or something like that. Just UNINSTAL driver from PC and u good to go connect l90 via MTP

You mast UNINSTALL driver from PC and reboot PC.
Then install this drivers and reboot PC:
https://yadi.sk/d/8iKJQLio33FusS
L90 with 5.0.2 stok ROM or CM13 works correctly.

LG Optimus black P970 USB Bricked

Please can someone help me, I have an LG P970 but the USB port seems to be bricked. The phone charges when connected to the computer but nothing else. When connecting the phone to the computer, the computer does not see the phone and the phone does not come up with any usb connection mode.
For this reason I rooted my phone and updated it to the latest version of Zeus rom, but this didn't fix the problem. The phone still just charges on the computer but that's all it does.
I think the phone USB drivers are faulty or need resetting. Is there any software APK I can download to fix my phone.
Thanks for any help.

lol.Man.You reboot intro recovery -> mount and storage -mount usb(you don't unmount).
You must have the phone conected to pc via usb. Then you will able to acces your sd card
To me it seems more like a driver issue more than your phone usb not working, try installing the latest drivers as DaemonOnx said

The problem is that when I go into '>> mounts and storage' the only option available to me is - unmount. There is no 'mount usb option'
By default I select unmount - to which as you say nothing happens.
Happy to try further options if you have any?
Edit - reread OP, response invalid

You most likely have problem with your pc LG drivers.
Download drivers by finding the link for LG driver on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
Install the drivers and try connecting and it will work

Hi thanks for this. However, the link to the usb drivers is broken. I have installed the usb drivers from the lg website and I know they work fine because I have now tried connect a friend's LG optimus black to my computer and the computer and phone both recognise each other. So I know it's not the usb cable or usb drivers on the PC. I have also installed the LG usb drivers on my laptop and spare computer, however again I have the same problem - phone only charges.
When this problem initially occured about a year ago I sent the phone back to LG and they did some sort of software refresh, which solved the connection problem for a few months, but then things went back to the way they were. I then thought it may be a PC issue so I downloaded drivers and connected my phone to the laptop and everything worked well. However, again, a few weeks later, things reverted back to the same problem. The phone only charges on both PC and laptop now.
Hope you can understand my frustration.
Someone must know something out there? How do I fix this stupid USB problem?

LG service center? you've pretty much tried all I would've
Last time I took the phone there, I was told it might have been the phone port software corrupted. Whatever that mean. If I can't find a fix to this I will need to somehow unroot the phone and try to get it back in its unrooted state to LG (not sure if that is possible) else they probably won't fix it.
I'll keep looking,
thanks for your help.
You are using the the proper usb cord. I know I have a couple. The one will charge only.
Yes I am using original cables, I have three of them. They all work on my Friend's OB but not on mine. I am convinced it's a phone software issue. This has happened with three different computers - when you first install LG software on the computer, the phone connects okay for a few weeks and then loses connection, and I can never get it connected again.
When LG refreshed the phone software for me the phone worked properly for a little while and then reverted back to charging mode only.
I need a way of reinstalling the USB software or port software onto the phone itself via some type of APK if such a thing exists.
Maybe a developer here can develop one???
hey man
if you have disabled the "android platform usb modem" in peripherals manager, enable it first (phone must be plugged)

this means it must be the result of an intervention by a third party thing, by yourself, or another program. If you have a kind of a software which manages ports or consumption (on phone as well as on Win), uninstall them, then uninstall all LG drivers, reboot, then reinstall them. if that doesn't solve your issue, you may have to reinstall windows. that's radical, but it should do it
Try connecting the usb while doing pressure between the LG logo on screen and the back of the phone, like squeezing something . I had this issue and it was an internal connector issue....
Check if you hear the "tada" sound in windows or any message about a new device.

Hi, thanks for this, I'm not sure what you mean by "disabled the "android platform usb modem" in peripherals manager". I am using XP. I have had a look to see if there is any software remotely associated with port consumption etc and have uninstalled these and also reinstalled LG drivers. But situation is still the same.
Please note: I have an LG GT540 and this connects fine to the computer. I have also connected another LG optimus black and this also connects fine to the computer. On the basis of deduction, it must be a phone issue, somehow interacts with the computer fine and then fails after a little while. Also I haven't installed anything on the phone itself which might manage consumption or port. The computer has a usb host controller but not sure that means anything useful.
I do agree and have feeling that if I reinstall windows I bet the phone would start working again, possibly again for a few months. This means I reinstall windows on my pc and laptop and hope it all resolves without actually getting to the bottom of the problem.
What I need is another laptop to try this on. If I try another computer or laptop and it recognises the phone. What do I make of everything??? Any ideas.
ps also tried holding pinching usb lg cable as suggested but nothing different.
Thanks for all your efforts.
Further update to this, I installed LG drivers on a fresh dell laptop. Again nothing happened, the phone only charges. I am even more convinced that phone software is corrupt. How do I reinitialise phone USB software?? If there is such a thing.

flashing a new rom, i think it may be hardware issue

[Q] Device driver not found after cm9 installation

After successfully installing cm9, my pc is no longer recognizing my device, making it impossible to open USB storage for transferring any new files over. Android debug mode enables as soon as I connect my touchpad via USB but then my driver software installation on my pc fails to install what it believes is a "MTP USB Device" Is there a separate driver for the device once cm9 has been flashed onto it?

EDIT: and just by the way. If you end up flashing CM10, keep MTP on all the time. Android on the TP has had charging problems on CM10 with MTP off.
Still not working
I am also having same problem except my pc won't recognize my phone in *any* mode. I have tried everything. I wanted to go to stock ROM but it won't even recognize the flashboot or fastboot drivers anymore. I think it is not a hardware problem since i tried using different usb cables, different PCs etc. I wiped data and cache on phone but still no use.
just to give you more details if it helps:
Phone: Sony Xperia GO [ST27i]
CM version: CM9 from #freexperia
anything at all will be highly appreciated.
thanks in advance!

I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603358
Yes I do have the usb debugging enabled....
I have already disabled, enabled and nothing....
The only way the phone and the pc detects the usb connection is when I restart the phone in bootloader and then do a normal boot.

I've had similar issues a few times and from my end, it seemed to be some kind of quirky driver bug. This might seem so simple it's ridiculous, but the few times it's happened to me, unplugging the device and rebooting both the PC and phone before plugging back in worked. Worth a shot?
Yeah, that works but I don´t want to reboot the phone every time I need to plug it in.
Since I use the Mobizen app to use my phone from the PC at work, I plug in and out about 4 times a day....

Problem is that the phone only charges when connected by the usb port, so the debugging isn't enabled by the phone and there is no adb connection to kill.

oh, i just assumed since you can start the server on your computer without the phone plugged in and the server stays running even after unplugging the phone that you might could try killing it before plugging the phone back in (assuming you have ran adb commands on that computer and it hasn't rebooted since). But that was just a guess.

I see, have you tried clearing the cache of MTP Host from Apps in the System Settings. Also try disabling USB Debugging.
I have this same issue using LOS 15.1. The solution is to go into Developer Settings and enable MTP using the 'Select USB Configuration' option. Then when you plug in via cable you will get the notification as normal. The problem is you have to do this every reboot, otherwise it's the same situation all over again. No Notification on plugging in and no way for your PC to see the device as it defaults to Charging mode.
I have "select USB conf" set as default (charging) and never had this issue. My PC sees the device even if I don't change the mode, I just don't see any files then. What drivers are you using?

I just installed the Official Oneplus drivers but it didn't help. I didn't think it would. The generic Windows 10 drivers were working fine with LOS 14.1. As you said, the PC does see the phone just fine, but not files until MTP is enabled.
It's the lack of a Notification when plugging in that's the problem. Without the Notification i can't switch from Charging to MTP mode. I've tried all Notification levels too. The only way to get the Notification to appear is to use the MTP setting in Dev Options, and then it works.. until next reboot.
Edit: Enabling 'USB Debugging' seems to be a working fix currently!

Clean install didn't help me. Just Google 'Oreo no mtp' to see how common this is.

Just to rule it out, after you connect your cable are you seeing the Notification with USB options and have you selected 'Data Transfer', (or whatever it's called)?
If you are seeing the Notification and the PC still can't see the device, uninstall whatever Drivers and ADB packages you currently have installed. Download the ADB package from Google and, when prompted, say 'yes' to installing the Drivers.
Make sure you try all your available USB ports.
Are there any Yellow exclaimation marks in Device Manager? Do you have the most recent Motherboard drivers from your Manufacturers website?

You can connect your PC to your phone without cables using ADB over wifi provided your phone is rooted and on the same wifi network as your PC.
I know this won't solve your hardware problem but it does allow you to move files between your PC and your phone using ADB.
Note that this doesn't work in recovery or fastboot modes.
Here's how:
On the phone using Terminal
su
setprop service.adb.tcp.port 5555
stop adbd
start adbd
On the PC in a command terminal
adb connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555
...
adb disconnect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the phone's IP address
To set the phone back to normal (optional)
On the phone
su
setprop service.adb.tcp.port -1
stop adbd
start adbd
