Downgrading form skydragon 6.0 to stock 5.1 - Sprint HTC One (M8)

How can i downgrade to stock 5.1? should i use Ruu or just flash 5.1 rom?

Simply flash the 5.1 ROM. If S-off you can run the 5.1 RUU.

If u are having s-oN phone ;
phone currently on
MM Firmware - can not downgrade.
Lollipop firm- relock bootlader and flaah RUU
If you are having a s-off phone;
You can flash any firmware , no need to relock bootloader ( be caution dnt flash other model phone on your device , it may hard brick your device )

[Q] how to downgrade firmware

I updated firmware to 2.24.401(s-off),but now I have a camera issue,I want to go back to 1.29.708.16(I can't find this firmware) then turn to s-on for warranty, there isn't update to 4.2 in HK(where I bought the phone),so how can I downgrade firmware to 1.29,and can I change the firmware number by change "mainver" in android-info.txt ?

If you are returning your phone for service then you can run an RUU if your phone has one.
It will reset everything back to stock, even the firmware. Check here:

If your s-off then a RUU can downgrade your firmware. (I did this on a phone I returned for service without issues) If you are still s-on I don't think it will.
You just download the RUU.exe and run it on your PC and it guides you through resetting everything on the phone.

thank you very much,i'll try it.if there aren't my ruus of region,I use other region ruu,can I get warranty?
That depends on the carrier/vendor. If you don't have a RUU you could also run an RUU for another area (Since your S-off) to downgrade the firmware and then root it and use one of the posted stock nandroids to restore to your proper areas stock config. Then do the stuff to re-lock your bootloader. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43458497

I can back to stock rom,but firmware version can't change, because there aren't ruu of HongKong, any ideas to change firmware version?
Since your S-off you can change your CID to use another RUU like this one:
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...14325013-1033115001-release-311678-signedexe/
The RUU will set the device firmware back to stock. Then restore your stock ROM and you should be ok.
Also if you have it stock rom and setup now, you may just want to put S-on so that it says Locked and S-on on bootloader and your vendor will probably not care about the firmware version.

The red warning in hboot is from being unlocked. Once you have back to stock (especially recovery) then the red warning will be gone. For sure after re-locking.

how can I backup stock recovery?
because there are not ruu of HK,so I should use TWRP to restore nandroid backup from HK htc one. then back to stock recovery .
Yes you would TWRP to restore and then flash the stock recovery and relock.
Here is a post where I helped another and it has the stock recovery and instructions for flashing if needed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43625746&postcount=17
Just an FYI that this method will not downgrade the firmware, but just get you back to locked and a stock look, but with the newer firmware.
Let me know if you need something else.

Did you flash the nodded firmware without recovery, or with the HTC recovery? If you flashed modified firmware, just go back to your backup. If you flashed the unmodified, you need to RUU. But I don't know if you should flash the old or new RUU. I Don't know if there would be a problem downgrading firmware, hoot, etc. Safest bet is to flash the latest RUU and then try to root again.
Hi,
I moved your post to Q&A.
Please don't post in Development threads asking for help that's why we have a Q&A section.

If you're SOFF you don't need to relock bootloader. My suggestion is flash a custom recovery and backup your internal storage and run the latest RUU.

Assuming that you're on latest Sprint rom then yes. You already flashed unmodified so it doesn't matter at that point.
I'm gonna try to explain what happened to your phone... Because you updated your firmware you have the Lollipop kernel on your phone right know. Thats why your phone can't boot in to the system. Now you have several options and all of them needs you to have a custom recovery.
First: Install latest TWRP and try to flash a 4.4.2 Kernel. You'll probably can boot in to your system now. Copy OTA in your Internal storage and reflash unmodified firmware. After that just go to your stock recovery and install OTA from there.
Second: Since you could boot your system, backup everything you need and download the latest RUU and restore afterwards.
Since you're rooted my sugestion is the RUU method.

If you have issues, then that's what I would do. I've had issues with an RUU running unless I already had the latest firmware first. Here's a guide I wrote (mainly for s-off users) that should help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...de-reset-phone-using-ruu-htcfastboot-t2876110

Lollipop Update help

I own a Hong Kong HTC One 801s.It's currently on kit Kat and I received the lollipop update yesterday. Is it possible to downgrade to Kit Kat from lollipop if I wanted to?
I was an iPhone user before this and I had to save SHSH blobs from the firmware I wanted to downgrade to.
I'm on complete stock with locked bootloader. Not rooted.
Help is appreciated.

you can unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and then flash a KK custom rom if you like.
but to officially downgrade you would have to find your KK RUU and make your device s-off in order to downgrade the HBOOT and firmware.

Once your s-off, it doesnt matter which RRU you use, just change your CID and MID and flash any RUU you like, Dev edition (1540) or International (401) are the favorites and get updates the quickest, I converted mine to 1540 Dev edition.

Can i flash this rom?

Hello,
I'm currently running the SPRINT HTC M8 with Android version 5.0.1 (upgraded through OTA) with root and bootloader unlocked i think. I was just curious if i could flash that rom or if there was another rom that was pure lolipop that i can flash with s-on as i dont think we can do s-off right now??

Yes you can flash it. Being S-on you may need to flash the kernel separately from the ROM itself.
Just a normal flashing of the rom?
Wipe data system cache dalik then flash the rom? would i just flash the kernel after like i was flashing gapps? also is gapps included or do i need to flash that after the kernel?

[Q] Need 6.13.708.1 Ruu exe for unlocked

Need 6.13.708.1 (or any 4.4.3 Ruu file) Ruu exe for unlocked

You cannot downgrade firmware unless you are S-OFF and thus you cannot flash an older RUU.
I would primarily try to factory reset the phone via stock recovery. Caution: All data on the phone gets lost, you will get an untouched 5.0.2 then.

here is the 6.13.708.1 RUU: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934553795
But like said above, you'll need s-off to flash it, you can't downgrade with s-on.
You could first try to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev and flash an elder custom rom, like ARHD 84.0 (Kitkat 4.4.3) before going S-OFF which costs 25$ via Sunshine. Since you are on Lollipop, at this moment an unlocked bootloader via HTCdev is needed anyway to S-OFF.
Here you can download ARHD: hxxp://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.de/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
(replace hxxp with http)
