My laptop is too slow, I don't have jem (so I can't test it) and I don't have time for that.
Here's is original thread for tate.
THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING.
@ rat3ch will not bring new builds here. He's a disgrace.
login/passwd requested
Hi Alexander
Thanks a lot for your work bringing high quality ROMs to us jem users.
When I click on the ROM download link above, I get a login/passwd request? Is this normal?
Also, I don't understand how this new ROM differs from the previous one linked on the other thread (2016_10_13)?
Could you explain a bit?
Thanks in advance.
What's the change from previous build?
Thanks

My bad, it was a link for me. It's fixed now. The last build was made by one inadequate guy, who went too far and screwed up video and audio streaming with his commits. It wasn't made using my source, which is posted in the description. You should use a previous one for now. Or BeanStalk (probably the best release) or just go try what works best for you.
My source is better, there is no issues with YouTube (it sometimes glitches on 720p, but it's not embarrassing like patchy sound in last build). I'm talking about tate version, off course. But it must also affect jem as well.
You can use this source and make a new updated build. Honestly, I have no time for this and I can't even test it.

OK thanks a lot for the clarifications.
Actually I was about to try the 2016_10_13 CM build, but I understand this is the one that got garbled with inappropriate sources, so I'll skip this one and wait for the next. Reading your OP, I initially thought that there was another 2016_10_17 "clean" build released somewhere, but couldn't find where to download it. Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge and toolchains to build it myself, so I'll have to wait for somebody to do it for the community. However, I am definitely willing to test if you need a jem owner to test-ride new experimental builds.
I'm a long time lurker here but I don't post very often, so let me use this opportunity to thank all the developers and say that I am quite impressed (to say the least) by the outstanding work you guys are achieving to support this old machine (almost 4 years old already), including providing the latest TWRP btw. I have been a long time user of hashcode's unofficial CM10 releases and then official CM10.2 (I skipped the alpha CM11 and CM12 entirely). Currently I am using transi1's Revolution Remix v5.7..4 ROM (2016_09_21), which was released about the same timeframe as the previous CM13 (2016_09_17) and Beanstalk (2016_09_20). It runs extremely smooth and responsive, apart from somewhat long bootup times (which is no big deal really because it is rock stable for me, I only needed to reboot it twice in a month).
Note: I'm probably not a "power user" so I don't know the actual differences and distinctive features between flavours CM, Beanstalk, Resurrection,... That's why I intend to try them all to check for myself. But I'd be grateful if anybody can point me to a detailed feature comparison.

You actually don't need knowledge to make a build. I can tell you exactly what to do, all you need is Ubuntu 14.04+ (or Linux 17.3), 100Gb+ free space, 2+ cores and 4+ GB of RAM. You just need to type some commands and download the source.
OK so let's try to learn how to build this thing
I am under Linux OpenSuSE 42.1, have approx. 200 GB free HD space left, 8 GB RAM, 4 core intel Haswell 4570s.
If you can give me the detailed instructions, I will try to build it.
Thanks.

I've been using the ROM in the last days and it's very smooth and stable, i've noticed some SELinux denials, but is good for daily use.. I'm gonna get some logs and check what's going on when i'll have free time.
I think it runs perfectly. Start up is quite quick, and the update process only took 1 minute. Amazing!

Thanks for all the great work and info here. It has been a while since I have messed around with TWRP and updating my jem. I'm currently on CM11 and looking forward to trying this out. I was hoping for a few pointers so I don't mess something up. I have updated TWRP to 3.0 in preparation for this. I downloaded the latest rom, the Gaaps pico arm 6.0, the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-SYSTEMMODE.zip.
For the "Full Wipe", do I just wipe the Data, Cache, and Dalvik that is pre-selected, or do I need to do an advanced wipe and check extra boxes (Internal Storage, System)?
And the Format that is recommended, will that leave any folders untouched? Where do I put the rom etc, so they will be there when it is time to flash?
Then I install the rom, then Gaaps, then SuperSU, and then wipe the cache and dalvik and reboot.
Thanks for any info you can offer.

Figured id try it out. Running great so far, boots up fast! GPS is working, i have not yet been able to try IR remote.
Only problem i encountered was flashing xposed arm. Which has worked for me on CM nightlies and AICP.
Thank you! Excited mainly to see battery life. Which has been a problem for me on other LP roms.
your welcome

Playing around with things more ive noticed a bit of lag in transitions, animations of menus and such. Opening the dialer is a big one. Almost like things are opening faster than it can keep up with, if that makes sense.

flashed new version, still having problems with phone calls. I can hit answer but get silence, screen goes black then have to hold power to reboot. Does this have anything to do with modem? Im getting 3/4g data like normal. On the plus side, everything is more smooth than previous version so glad to see some improvement :good:

Can't think of a reason why it should do that. (and why you should do that, with 32 Gb internal)
I'm currently out of large enough SD's so I could transfer internal to external.
Does a format as regular card work?
Can you get a logcat (start before format, stop after it failed) of the format as internal and when regular fails, one of that action as well?

Not sure how to get logcat but formatting as portable works while formating as internal it all goes through says Sd card is working I hit done and it says corrupted EDIT***: some other people were having this issue on different devices it appears it was an issue with cm 13 that got patched in a different nightly likely the same issue here
---------- Post added at 03:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 PM ----------
So formating as internal still goes corrupt but when entering twrp to erase the Sd twrp says it can't mount adoptable storage unit
Thanks for your hard work.
As I am still on the "unofficial" build, do I need to clean flash the official nightly ?
Edit:
Did a clean flash, to on the safe side. Unfortunately though I still cannot get the quicksettings to. I don't even the option in my menu.
Incase embedding doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp6c60Andgk
OK so I have a floating logcat did the format and stopped it how do I send it over can't find option to save the log EDIT**** I FOUND HOW TO SAVE but won't let me upload I can send an email with it if that is OK? And only reason I'm doing it is because I have a bunch of big apps and a lot of music I had 2gb free before I erased everything and flashed cm also if I may request a close all button for closing out application
Thank you for the CM port! I am testing this on my tab and like others say, Netflix does not work (cannot find the liboecryptXXX to remove or change filename) and sd card is always corrupt no matter which option you choose (64GB SD card). Let me know if there is anything I need to send to help.

Where can I find the tablet version of Netflix? I only see the one app in the Play Store.
EDIT: Also - I am on version 13.0-20160629-NIGHTLY-gts210wifi - Maybe this nightly broke Netflix?

Ahh, just saw this. Yeah, it appears its down. But at least ChromeCast works!
Wow. Official for the T810. Nice job! Should hopefully be somewhat soon before the 710 gets it aswell. I'm thinking of getting a 713 to learn this on. Good stuff!
Nice work! This may just get me off my year-long break from flashing.

Thanks TI for all the hard work in getting this ROM running on our S2's, it's running really nice and smooth for me and I thank you and those who helped for putting forth all the effort in making it happen, it's much better than TW IMO. :good:
Idk if it's OK to post a request in this thread but can someone in the community please create a custom under/overclock/under volt kernel for this ROM? I was spoiled using the ROM and custom kernel that Engine95 made for Lollipop TW and it seemed to take my S2 to the next level especially with battery savings, adjusting the BIG processor down to 500mhz really had a noticeable impact. Idk what settings he used for the undervolting but he set the oc parameters for the little processor up to 1.6ghz and the BIG from 500 to 2.2ghz on the interactive governor and my S2 was running great. I can only imagine what this ROM would do with a similar custom kernel but I know the performance would make our S2's jump to the next level. Thanks again :good:
Is it also possible to add multi user support

Embedded didn't work (here). Thanks for the video, learning more about android every day. I have the option set to right and when I turn it off nothing changes, so I can confirm, it doesn't work. Will have to check on the phone what it should do though and then look into it.

Emailing would be fine. There is a site to share logs online, but I've forgotten which one that is. (will look into that as well)

The T713 is snapdragin, not exynos, different base. I don't know if you can use the common we have, I guess not, as that one depends on the exynos libs.

At the moment the rom is on phone mode. For multiuser etc. you have to set android to tablet mode.

Thank you! Happy '17! I've always liked Carbon ROM.
Looks amazing! I was never crazy about the AOSP look but I've gotten more used to it since the pixel is so close to being stock. Time to root and install TWRP finally. Love all the customization options especially the menu bar at the bottom.
Just curious what the Gapps issues are exactly because I've seen some other people mention them but didn't really go into detail.
Thanks!

gApps have always been problematic with every additional security layer added. With different slots, but shared data, I can envision it's getting more complicated.

What's up with the Gapps thing. Do we flash after or are they built in.
@Myself5, may I have 2 questions:
1) Which gApps should I download for the Pixel sailfish? I tried all combinations of ARM and ARM64, but they all failed to install due to "gApps size too large, try smaller gApps".
2) The ROM seems to get installed to the inactive slot on its own. If I set slot A to be active, Carbon is installed to B. Then I turned around and made B active on a different Pixel, it installed to A, and booted into A.
Thanks!
This is rather nice to see. Thanks for your hard work.

They don't go into detail for a reason. The cause is, as far as I am informed, more or less unknown.
TWRP is suspected to be the cause at the moment, but I don't know much more either ATM. I'd, by guessing assume that it might be a mix of TWRP and the GApps installers that struggle with the AB system, but I don't know for sure.
I do know, that when installing a build with builtin GApps (we can't officially provide builds like this) its working, which is why I'll upload some unofficial builds with builtin Gapps until the issues are solved.

1) None ATM, even when hacking the Installer they seem to dissapear on boot. (See above for more Info).
2) The ROM installs to both slots, and then boots to one that wasnt selected previously, for whatever reason (might be TWRP related or Installer related (the pixel installer zips are really goofy) or even bootloader related, I can't tell for sure).
A Featurelist will be coming soon, please bear with us on that. We hard a very hard time even hitting our release deadline which was supposed to be the 31th of December 2016 but jenkins started to be very picky so all time to prepare threads on XDA and changelogs and stuff went down for jenkins. This thread for example is based on one of my old unofficial Note 10.1 threads, with very small changes. We will rework those later this week too. There was just no time at 4AM this morning to do so

You install it like you'd install any ROM in a recovery such as twrp. Then install gApps. There's no gApps available yet.
So it installs to both slots does that mean it uses double storage space

It's the same setup you have now being stock. There are 2 of a few different folders including /system which is where the software is stored. No difference
It's good to see Carbon around!!!!
In anticipation of this becoming available for Marlin soon, I have a couple questions.
1) Does this have Slim Recents? I didn't see it listed on the features page.
2) I notice on the features webpage that it has light/dark theme options. Is it the one that can be set to automatically change? If so, does it have auto day/night Substratum support or does it only use the built in theme?

Yep, that's how DU and AOSiP are doing it for the moment.
Built-in. I didn't think it was possible to flash gapps at all, let alone have them install and then go away after reboot.

The ROM is having full substratum support, you only need to root and install substratum.

Will provide a build in the next days.
Flashing GApps "worked" after some dirty hacks to the installer Well... "working" as far as "it was there and then dissapeared after the boot" can be defined
Are there "legal" reasons Gapps can't be built in or something? Just curious because I've always wondered how it's OK to release some builds with them built in

No one tried this rom yet? I have a problem over here. It keeps asking for password after the CarbonROM logo even though I wipe everything clear, any ideas? What I was doing was flash 41.3.A.2.99 with everything wiped, flash ODM, flash TWRP, flash the rom and then Pico OpenGapps. Something wrong with my procedure? Thanks in advance.
EDIT1 : Oh yeah, forgot to mention my device is F8332, it isn't supported?

Use the "format data" option in TWRP to get rid of encryption, wipe doesn't clear encryption. If coming from stock, thats necessary unfortunately due to differences in the encryption used. Otherwise (if coming from AOSP) the password its asking for would be the one you used before.
Dual sim support?

First of all, thanks alot @Myself5 and all other devs, who are working hard to bring this to our XZ :good:
My experiences after 1 day:
- rom is very smooth and snappy.
- root via Magisk v16 & Xposed 90.1-beta3 (systemless) works flawlessly
- the fp sensor always works, but it's not as sensitive as with stock
- night light worked - until I've installed Substratum and a Substratum theme, but after that it doesn't work anymore (even after deactivating, uninstalling the theme, a system restart and deinstalling the Substratum app it sill doesn't work). Also a dirty flash of the rom.zip didn't help to get it working again.
- the build-in camera takes acceptable pics (not as well as the stock camera, but acceptable); also focussing is a little slower than stock. Another thing is, it's not possible to chance the location to save the pics to the ext. sdcard.
- formatted as a portable storage, the ext. sdcard item on the left of the status bar can't be removed (see attachement)
- the battery consumption is a bit high (from 100 % to 98 % in 1 h - without doing anything)
But in the whole, it's really promising for th 1st official build :good::good::good:

Hello, is the battery life when used good ? As good as stock ?
And does it have that bug when if you record video the result will be green ?
Can you upload screen recording of rom from home to settings and other functions.
I plan on flashing this soon, but I figured I'd tell you, your link to the Carbon FAQ is broken.

The battery consumption while in use is ok. But my device doesn't go into deepsleep while the screen is off. So I had lost about 23 % in 10 hrs - leaving the device untouched!
Video recording works; I haven't noticed that bug.

Sorry, I went back to stock for now, as there's a new stock fw (41.3.A.2.107).
I have a few bugs to report. First, the fingerprint sensor is extremely slow, about half or even one third of the speed compared to stock. Second, could you guys please fix the deepsleep? That one is not working for now. And third, Night Light does not work at all...
Thank you for updating the XZ to Android 8.1 I am glad to see carbon rom on this device although it is not that stable for now.
Really nice ROM and I'm looking forward to make this my daily driver, I tried it for two days and these are the bugs I found:
1: GPU performance is really bad with 2d games and google maps lagging all the time when they never do on stock
2: CPU performance is inferior compared to stock, especially single threaded
3: enabling 120 hz display won't do anything and the settings or UI will crash when leaving the page
4: fingerprint seems to be sometimes less responsive, usable but can be improved
Camera is not so bad and the modded google camera works well, hopefully this will become the first proper AOSP based platform for this device that has only seen failures until now, keep up the good work.
Can I dirty flash this rom for just update?
I use Carbon Rom 3/31 version, but I can't use delta update because my device cannot receive the stock script.
I must change the rom script with Notepad+.
So...can I use dirty flash or....could you manage it?
Thanks for continously updating this rom and thank you for fixing the bug with the fingerprint sensor.
I'm not sure if deepsleep has been fixed but there is a big problem with playing music. I can't even play any music track at all...
Hello, looking forward to make this my daily driver, is it possible ?
What I would want is decent battery life and camera.
Hello. I tried to listen to music after installing the ROM, but the earphones are disconnected as soon as they are connected to the smartphone.
The earbuds pfe 132 and are made up of earphones with an iphone microphone.

Great stuff. I haven't been able to standardise on one ROM since the CM days (interesting side note, it looks like you built the kernel for the NOCT build on my Z2 tablet).
I recommend this to anyone for daily use. Also, lower your expectations to realistic levels guise. I remember when XDA threads were for flagging major broken functionality, not complaining that a few amateur enthusiasts weren't putting out work that competed on every indicator against the finished product of a multibillion-dollar for-profit international conglomerate.

ROM INFO
This is unofficial source-built Resurrection Remix for Galaxy Note (n7000).
....
Yes, just simple as that. Be prepared to #GetResurrected !
*THIS ROM IS STILL IN TESTING PHASE!!!
ROM FEATURES
Probably, RROS should be the only ROM that have sooooo many features! It's too many to be listed here, really
ROM BUGS
Code:
- Display : (sometimes) During power off or reboot, it will freeze for a few seconds. Applies to Recovery Mode, Normal Android and Offline Charging.
- Camera : After every boot, Camera app needs to be launched twice then only it works. (tbc)
- Kernel : Display draining lots of battery (tbc)
This ROM is in testing phase at the moment, thus there might(should) be bugs yet to be found!
ROM INSTALLATION
*NEW USERS: Repartition system first, and install Bauner's TWRP !!!
1. Boot into TWRP (Power + Home + Volume Up)
2. If clean flash, wipe /data, /cache, /system
3. If you'd like to have f2fs, format /data (your internal SD content will be lost!) and /cache to f2fs.
4. Proceed into flashing ROM (install ZIP or sideload)
5. Proceed into flashing other ZIPs if any.
6. Reboot system. First boot takes about 10 minutes. Be patient
SIDE NOTES
- Device assert check is not removed for the time being. You need to remove the assert checking lines from ZIP file's updater-script so that the file starts with the word ui_print
- Builds are rootless, you have the option to flash SU addon on your own.
- When rebooting from Offline Charging mode/TWRP, sometimes it will freeze (see the above ROM BUGS section). When you noticed it freeze, just let go power button and leave it, it will reboot in a few seconds. (you should able to understand this if you read the ROM BUGS section)

Hi @lee.wp14,
Thank you, thank you.... Totally appreciate your efforts dude. I was hoping to catch this rom on some of my old relic devices, HP Touchpad, S2 and N7000. If I didn't use my N7000 as my daily driver MAIN phone, I'd be flashing right away to test and help/feedback....
But I know as soon as my rom starts playing up, and I have to wipe... I shall certainly test this as soon as I can after...
Thank you again for giving your time, and still knocking out roms... Esp, RR roms !!!
Thanks, Lister
Hi @lee.wp14,
Looks like I will be finally be able to get around to testing your rom....
My original N7000 HAS DIED, and so have ordered myself a replacement N7000. So will wipe it of it's current config when it arrives, and dive straight into this rom.... and give you my feedback.
Are you still providing updates/syncs to the latest repo's for this rom...??
Thanks, Lister

Hi @Lister Of Smeg
It is sad to hear that.. but anyway just to inform you that I won't be continuing development on this phone anymore, it is kind of hard to develop when I didn't have a n7000 around me. Additionally, I'm quite busy for my public examinations lately. And my knowledge in android development is little to nothing, it will be time consuming to develop on an old device which requires lots of workarounds, cherrypickes and patches.
I thank you for your support in my development! I hope that I will be able to get a n7000 in future, and maybe I will try to develop for this phone if my time allows. Currently I'm using an old Samsung S Advance... quite disappointing, can't even get nougat running properly on this phone. But at least it has an AMOLED screen...
Hi @lee.wp14,
Aye, you're telling me... I'm more annoyed that the death of the Note came out of nowhere... There was no symptoms leading up to it, no strange behaviour. Other than woke one morning to find it had rebooted and stuck on the Splash screen. Thought nothing of it, and rebooted it again as it was stuck on the Samsung N7000 screen. Then after that, it's been no more...
More so, as didn't get chance to back any data stored locally on the device, as it's not detected in Windows. It appears a common issue, affecting a lot of Samsung models... But most talk about it on YouTube, and all fixed theres...
Still, I've ordered myself another N7000 replacement (I hope it's in as good a condition as mine was...) and fully working. I have so many roms for this phone, and wouldn't know which phone to get next if needs be. Purely sentimental reasons, I don't wish to change my Sim or phone number, as it's the original one Ive ever had, since getting my first mobile phone back in the 90's (a long time!!) lol.
I fear if this Note goes (I still have some S2's, that it would work on) I will be forced to move to Micro or Nano Sim.. lol
Anyway, no worries mate... Thank you for letting me know. And much appreciated, all your efforts up till now. You've knocked out and provided some damn good roms... Esp dedication towards the RR roms. You claim your knowledge is little to none, but don't be so hard on yourself. You've managed to release some roms, and patches, and thats MORE THAN ANY OF US CAN DO !!!
Thanks again, for all you done so far... Good luck with your exams !! :good::good: and who knows, hopefully in the future, you maybe back again... with an N7000
Once my replacement arrives, I will be sure to let you know about the Oreo RR rom....
Thanks again, Lister...

EDIT : some cleaning works...
Initial Public Build 20190111
Refer OP for more *detailed* information. Downloads at second post.
*****This is different with the one I uploaded earlier this morning (yes the file names are the same). You can identify by the file size. This latest build has a smaller file size (check the file size in bytes so that you won't get it wrong). This latest build is uploaded around 8PM at UTC+8 while the earlier one is uploaded around 2AM UTC+8 (it is now in the .trash folder).
Build works pretty well as for now, but anything could happen - DO NOT FLASH IF YOU'RE NOT DARE TO RISK.
*you need to remove assert lines to install this build in TWRP, Google search if you don't know how to.
*it is actually the first line inside META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Remove it and replace the file inside the one in the zip.
*you need to get some little extra free space for /system if you want to install GAPPS (pico only!). Alternatively, you can repartition your /system to make it larger than 1GB, using REPIT. You can also remove GoogleTTS inside the opengapps pico zip file (edit the installer.sh, remove the line under pico_gapps_list=)
*please do not use your note 1 when charging. by then it is not charging but draining instead.
*button backlights are disabled. Feedback me if you guys need the button lights (I find them ugly tho)
*enable usb functions under Settings > Connected Devices
*camera needs to open twice after every boot. I haven't check into this yet because I'm quite tired today. However this only happens to my current installation, and I don't think I made changes related to camera in this build. So I need someone to confirm this.
EDIT : some cleaning works...
I will flash it too. Currently on Bauners 15.1 v3.
After about one week of testing, here is a fairly usable RR Oreo build for n7000...
Notable changes :
- No more battery drain during deepsleep and Wifi turned on
- Internal SU management working. Flash Lineage's SU addon to get root.
Notes :
- Screenshot uploaded to second post! (Not yet I'm quite busy lately)
- Phone is draining quite a lot of power when screen is on (not sure, as my previous phone has better battery life, and I'm not get used to n7000's power consumption yet)
- To install GAPPS, refer to post #12 for information on how to install. Or, you can repartition your /system to >1GB
Hi lee.wp14,
This rom will have the possibility to autoboot when power is plugged in to the phone?

No. If you require this will need modification to the kernel ramdisk.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Can you patch the rom with this modification?
PS: the rom is 8.0 or 8.1 ? I want to know what version of gapps to download.
Thank you

Not really, I don't see it necessary.

8.1.0
Be noted that even pico gapps is unable to install. You need to exclude GoogleTTS from the installer or resize /system to >1GB

That would be nice to have, maybe another rom with this option activated. This is the only thing stoping many of us to use the Note permanently in the car.

System is already resized to 1.5gb , using RR Nougat in this moment.
Maybe I will flash it tomorrow and come with a feedback.
