Ok, so im trying to root my phone ( HTC DESIRE 626S FAMILY MOBILE/T-MOBILE) and last night i got through rooting the phone with CyanogenMod, the problem is i didnt see the warning that the su was for 5.1, where as i had 6.0.1, so i redid the steps, unlocked the bootloader after i relocked it, flashed over CyanogenMod, but then im stuck, i tried to run adb devices and it doesnt find my phone, so i cant push over supersu v2.76, and i tried to go into recovery mode, and noticed that the CyanogenMod recovery screen isnt there, its like the stock ruu recovery but it doesnt do anything but go into a boot loop after that. i can power down the device and go back into download mode. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recently picked up a HTC Raider from Rogers, played around with it and decided to root it. Rooted my Acer A500 previously without problems so had some understanding. Had to use supertool to get root as I got errors using the other method in the super guide. Was going to install vjraider rom and did the kernal but now the phone wont boot up. Gets stuck on the white HTC screen. I can get into H-Boot but when I select recovery I get stuck on a screen with a phone and the red triangle exclamation mark. Tried searching around but haven't found anything relating to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated
sounds to me that you do NOT have recovery on it. did you unlock your bootloader?
Yup bootloader is unlocked. I managed to get it a recovery mood by using fastboot and putting the recovery.img in the ph391img.zip and i got into CWM 5.5.0.4 installed the rom after all the wipes and now I got a boot loop... Im thinking I must have somehow removed the kernel when I used fastboot
Flashed the kernel for the rom again in fastboot and now everything seems to work. Rom is up running with everything seeming good so far.
Hi guys. I think I have bricked my One.
Basically I relocked the bootloader because I wanted to go back to stock however now I am stuck in the bootloader and cannot do anything.
The RUU wont work, everytimre I hit reboot it goes straight back into the Bootloader as it does when I select Recovery and Power Down. Cant get into Recovery or anything.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Fixed. Unlocked bootloader again now working fine.
Hello everyone! I was attempting to root my HTC One on Sprint, and I successfully completed unlocking the bootloader following the instructions found on htcdev.com. The next step (correct me if im wrong) is to flash a recovery.
I attempted (using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) to flash ClockworkMod, ClockworkMod Touch, TWRP, and even a (supposed) original recovery img. However, each time, it fails to load the recovery. What happens is the phone shows 'Booting Recovery...', then simply goes black, never to turn on.
In order to get the phone usable, I have to hold down the power button for ten seconds and then boot it back to android. Any ideas on what's causing this?

My first question are you sure it says unlocked in hboot?
have you tried the tool they made?

Just an FYI.. You would have had more people helping if you posted in the Q/A.

Yeah, I have tried Hasoon2000's tool, but no change. I wonder, would a factory reset help?
When you try to send ity does it say .. sending? and done or does it give you an error message.
Hey, turns out I had been using Hasoon's Toolkit for the One, not the One on Sprint! It installed TWRP like a charm! Thank you! I had been stuck for weeks on this!
Cool.. Glad you figured it out... have fun flashing!!
Hi all.
Just recently acquired a sensation xl. I was interested in rooting so I went ahead did it. The volume down key on my sensation is broken, so to combat this I had to perform a temp root and then installed twrp recovery manager. from here , I rebooted to bootloader and unlocked it succesfully following htc dev's instructions.
After all this I flashed the cyanogenmod 9 rom to the device. All was going well.
I started looking at other roms. I decided I wanted to install runny kitkat v17(cyanogen) so I went ahead and downloaded the zip. I also downloaded the lego kernel.zip as I read that you have to flash the kernel too to tun 4.4.
I noticed that twrp recovery had an issue every time I booted to recovery. It would initialise and then display something like "kernel does not support selinux contexts" and then it would remain on the "simulating actions stage". I did not back up before I flashed cm9. I tried to back up several times on twrp but when I try to restore it says "twrp has stopped working"
So at that point I said that I would just flash the runny kitkat c17 rom and kernal from twrp. that didn't work too well. sinc I was unable to recover via twrp, I decided to boot up command prompt, and used command "fastboot recovery "recoveryimagename.img"
After this, the device restarted and now remains on the htc starting screen with the green "HTC" writing.
I think I soft bricked the phone. normally you could enter bootloader mode via phone and try restore stock firmware/ os. However since my volume button is broken and I can't manually load bootloader, I'm left clueless.
Please help me
Hi!
A few months ago I rooted my HTC desire 626s, everything was fine until I tried to "Full Unroot" option in superSU, it got stuck in the "please wait" sign and restarted the phone, since the superSu wasnt intalled anymore i thought the unroot completed succesfully, and made a factory reset, after that i root checked it and it said i had my phone rooted but the cmd, supersu and twrp keep telling that there was no root at all. So i went to the recovery mode but it never change to the black screen with a red sign, i got stuck (again) in the htc green logo with red letters saying "recovery mode failure...". I have tried everything to fix it but with no success, and even re-rooted normally, but i still cant unroot or enter the htc normal recovery mode, i got cynogen recovery. Also tried with RUU but none worked even trying to install from adb.
Please help, im getting quite desperate, bootloader is unlocked and S-ON.
Thankyou!
I had the exact same issue, it seems un-rooting leaves files behind that still get picked up by android 'safetynet' (used by android pay, pokemon go, etc)
I actually tried using king root (my original root method) to remove the root.
...and I ended up bricking my phone...
Your best bet would be to flash back to stock with the RUU, this will delete all your data, but it's the only thing that worked on my 626 (non-s)
The flashing program is tricky, but I got it to work.
You can see the process here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/help/how-to-unbrick-htc-desire-626-fails-t3464427
Bun since you're using the 626s, you'll want to use the latest 626s image instead,
But the rest of the process should be the same.
I hope it works out for you!
