Samsung Galaxy J7 help. - SuperSU

I was bored at home today and decided to root my phone. I used this method: http://www.android.gs/how-to-successfully-root-samsung-galaxy-j7-sm-j700p-on-boost-virgin-mobile/. Everything went smoothly and root checker said I was rooted. However, nothing that requires root works. Basically i'm rooted, but root things don't work. How do I fix this? I don't wanna try anything too advanced since I'm scared of bricking it.

[Q] 2.2.2 OTA and root, where did I go wrong?

Hey guys, I'm definitely a novice in these matters, but this is the first time I've had a problem so I'd appreciate some help.
While my Droid was on FRG83D I rooted with SuperOneClick using rageagainstthecage. I had to install PdaNet to get it to work, but it did work for me. This morning I got the OTA update for FRG83G and downloaded and installed it just a few minutes ago.
I didn't unroot my phone before I did this.
Afterwards the two apps I use that require su won't work (Barnacle and ROM Manager for backups, I don't have a custom ROM flashed to my phone yet) so I ran SuperOneClick again, ran root using psneuter. Still didn't work so I unrooted using psneuter. Then I realized that I should probably unroot using rageagainstthecage and did so. So at this point (theoretically) my phone was unrooted. Then I ran root with rageagainstthecage again and my two apps still won't work.
Every time I rooted or unrooted using either method SuperOneClick worked seemingly perfectly.
So here's my question: What did I do wrong? And just as importantly, how do I fix it so I can have root access on my phone again?
*Edit* Well this is pretty embarrassing. I just rebooted my phone and tried Barnacle again, and the su acceptance box came up like it's supposed to. I suppose I'm back to being rooted. I think I'll leave this here, and if anyone has any constructive criticism of my (lack of) process or comments about why things acted the way they did and why it works now I'd like to hear it. I'm all about learning more about all of this.

Trouble Rooting my Note 4

Hey everyone. I am not new at rooting phones but this appears to be the one phone that is giving me issues.
My note 4 is telus, was n910w
installed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/rom-vision-x-n4-intl-t2943448
working beautifully thus far but I cant seem to root....
I have tripped KNOX 5 times so far trying to do it, each time it appears my phone is not rooted as titanium cannot verify SU, and aswell I have a root checker which tells me it is not rooted.
I have tried several versions of ODIN, and cf auto root n910t, AND V.
Do I maybe have to reinstall my rom? Or is there something I am missing because this is frustrating me....
Is there something I am doing wrong? Superuser IS on my phone, but its not doing anything but being there.... Please any kind of help would be appreciated as I am stumped.
I'm not sure what rom you are running but I do know there were some issues with su and lollipop in the beginning that required you to go into superuser app setting 's and change from prompt for root to allow all requests. For some reason it wouldn't prompt for root for root apps. But if you changed it it would auto.atically allow root apps root access

This worked, I am a dummy lol
Thanks alot!
Glad I could help
Glad you got it worked out but note that you can only ever trip Knox once. Once it's tripped it's tripped, so don't worry about it.

Rooting my AT&T Samsung Galaxy s6

Hey all my version is the G920AUCU3BOJ7...I've tried PingPong root and it says my device can't be rooted yet. Is there anything that can help me root my device. My recent tab is stuck and it causes my phone to constantly switch between apps. I went through all the proper channels AT&T and Samsung and they won't help me. I also factory reset my device uninstalled all apps ever put on it and nothing works. I read you can disable the recent tab, but to do that I need root acess to the device. Any help would me much apprechiated.
Thanks,
Ryan

Guys, Help!

I'm new here. I rooted my tablet. I installed SuperSU on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Editon). Says, it was successful. I second that because I got the same result just like in the tutorial I watched. But when I checked if my tablet is really rooted, the Root Checker said "Sorry! Root is not properly inatalled on this device." I reinstalled the root again then checked again but still says no root access. I tried to uninstall the root twice but it's still there. I tried to update SU binary as it says hoping it will give me root access. But I'm still having trouble installing it. Please guys, help me. I want to have root access but I think I messed up.
Did you flash SuperSu.zip in your custom recovery, or you just installed super su from google play store ?

help me get rid of kingo root from previous owner

i have a asus ME172v and i bought it used a few weeks ago. Apparently the guy rooted or tried to root with kingo root. even after a factory reset there is a super user app, but when you open it, says phone not rooted. How can i go about putting the factory firmware on the device and wiping all that crap off?
I used kingo root on my LG Spirit, and then used an app called 'supersume' to get rid of it and install SuperSU instead. You'll find it easily with a Google search, I hope it works for ya! ?
