Battery drain + error messages ( NEW TO ROOT - HELP!) - Xposed General

Hi,
I am new here. I am also new to rooting as I just rooted to 7.1 yesterday. I wanted the pixel look on my 6p. I believe I used superSu (not sure what that is lol I need some education), but that is the app on my phone. Everything is working pretty good aside from 2 things: 1. snapchat login doesn't work and from what I have seen online I cannot uninstall xposed installer because as of now I do not even have one installed because it's not released for Nougat yet. Or is that what SuperSu is? Also my battery is draining like crazy.... someone please tell me how to fix that and possibly educate me a bit on what these particular apps are, superSu and xposed installer. I am sorry to create another thread if these things were already stated but I am so confused..
Thank you!,
Brianna

Cannot get snapprefs working

I was hoping that I could get some insight here on the Nexus forum for an issue I'm having w/ xposed. I did post this over there but the thread for snapprefs has been closed. Any insight would be appreciated.
I cannot get snapprefs working in snapchat. I have been trying to get this to work for the last couple of days w/ no luck. I am running about 8 other modules in xposed w/ no issues. The first time I started from scratch yesterday, I removed all modules & only have snapprefs enabled currently. But what I have tried is completely removing xposed/installer (Framework: xposed-v80-sdk23-arm/installer: 3.0 alpha4) & both apps then starting from scratch. Even using past versions of SP & SC made no difference. I am attaching a logcat from xposed. The only other things worth mentioning is that my device is encrypted & I am not running a current version of Pure Nexus(I'm on ver-6.0.1-20160103 w/ stock kernal)but I wouldn't think these would make a difference since my other modules are working. So any help would be appreciated. Let me know if more information is needed.
Thanks!!
The thread was closed because any question you may have has already been answered. Snapprefs works fine on mine. Every rom I have have tried. Mind you I don't have mine encrypted as there really is no point.
Your issue from that log is the wrong version of Snapchat. The last version supported Is 9.21.1. So you will have to use that version and not update.
Also do not post the same thing across different threads.
Had you followed directions you would have been fine.

Thank you, zelendel & sincere apologies man. I can't believe I overlooked that. Such an easy fix. Doh!
I don't use Snapchat but when I set it up for a friend I had an issue. If you have xposed framework installed, Snapchat will not login. You have to flash the xposed uninstaller in recovery. Then reboot and login to Snapchat. Once you successfully login then reboot and reinstall xposed and you will be good to re set up your other modules and snapprefs. Just a heads up and good luck.

No prob, but to be honest it's questions like that the dev had me close the thread.
Glad you got it working.
I completely understand & feel like a tool cuz I get annoyed when I come across it on the forum. I have been a member for a few years & not that anyone wants to look at my history but if you did, the few posts that I have made, were made after much reading, searching & as relevant as possible. Won't happen again. Thanks!

Xposed

Since there isn't anything directed towards having xposed framework in the sprint s7 I thought maybe it'd be good to have for people who are new (such as myself) or experienced to gain info on how to use xposed, what modules are actually fully compatible with our device, half compatible, etc. If posting screenshots be sure to include the module name and anything in the module that doesn't work.
Xtouchwiz is fully functioning and the lucky patcher besides those i only use youtube adaway and background play. Id be interested in hearing about other modules that are working with our phones as well.
Hey, I just rooted mine a few days ago, and as soon as I installed Xposed, I also installed and set up Flat Style Bars Indicators Pro, as well as YouTube AdAway, and they are working great. Haven't had any problems with any of them.

Question how was xposed installed without the use of a custom recovery?

I had lag too. But then i reflashed to stock and redid the the root process. The only different thing i did this time was as soon as i got root i smart installed busybox. Runs smooth with no lag noticeable what so ever. Now only if we could get a twrp up and running like our asian counterparts. I saw how far advanced their treads are and i was so jealous. :"(

The apk isn't too important it had me just update after I installed it on my op5 but it could have done that because nougat xposed uses a different app not sure.

[Guide] Install Xposed/Rooting Op3 Open Beta 7

Looking for Xposed on open beta 7
Well I HV got you covered with this simple short Guide
Many people get error / status 1 wile flashing normal Xposed.zip
This method will install magisk and Xposed framework
First download files which are required:
Magisk V9: Click Here
Xposed Installer zip: Click Here
PhhSuper user zip: Click Here
PhhSuper user : Click Here
Xposed installer: Click Here
Twrp Modified: Click Here
Now Flash
1)Modified Twrp
2)Magisk V9
3)SuperSu (Optional)
4)And Xposed Installer zip
5)Reboot ( First reboot will take some time )
Install PhhSuper followed by Xposed installer apk
Done
* Xposed is not fully compatible with Nov Security Patches yet, so some modules would end you up in a bootloop!!
You can though update to latest version of Xposed(System less) via the app itself.
System will reboot twice when you flash SuperSU
Rovo89 has released new Xposed framework version that works with latest beta built v7 of OOS. I've just tried it and it work.
First uninstall few unwanted apps which you don't use if you get error like no space etc..
This new build will not give bootloop. It works with Nov 1 patch!.
!!!!This is a test version risk is all on you don't blame me.!!!

Only certain modules work like youtubeadaway, certain ones will won't let you pass the boot screen, like greenify xposed
A few steps are missing !
- Flash your favorite kernel on top of this.
- Finally enjoy the best performance and battery life on your phone.
Oops I almost forgot the final step !
- Complain to the kernel developer and ask him to fix:
....the battery drain.
...the slow fingerprint reader
...the phone overheating
...the random reboots
...the weak wifi signal
...any strange behaviour that needs fixing
Any list of working modules ?

I know that but my question is: does this method bypass Google's November Security Patch? Xposed doesn't work for this reason..

This post was not required at all IMO. Flashing and using Xposed is totally one's choice and people are totally aware that Xposed means no support from kernel/ROM devs. But why this unrequired bashing?

I totally agree that people have the choice to flash and install whatever they want, this is certainly the main reason why we love android. However many people root, flash Xposed and more recently magisk without understanding the implications. Those are amazing pieces of software, really powerful and I have a huge respect for the developers. However I don't think anyone should flash those without a basic understanding of what they do to the system. (And why it means no support from kernel/ROM devs).
My post was mainly a parody of the current discussions in the forums. Simply, look at this thread, it's supposed to be a guide to help people and make things easier for everyone. Most of the replies should be something like 'thanks it works great', not confused people or with issues (like bootloops for example....)

Most modules are not upgraded since year 2013 ? Is it safe to use same ?

Most modules are not upgraded since ages ?
Yet the thread is posted as latest 2018 best modules ?
Tried all and mobile wont boot now.. lol..
I have results of latest modules displayed on the post, but not yet upgraded since ages.
Except greenfly or few.. Though listed..
Are these modules still safe to use with latest technology ?
Thanks,
Request reply from advanced person and request to pin after my reply.
I still love XDA but a question.
Noone on XDA team to reply same ?
ITs weird.. ?
Made other replies in respective topics..
But that is xposed and still xposed ?
UHHH..
It really depends on what Android version are you using.
Sometimes even if the modules are really old they still works.
You can try install them one by one, so if you end up in a bootloop you know exactly what module caused it.
In case of bootloop if you're using Xposed systemless just uninstall xposed module from recovey (with uninmod or magisk mm) and delete the xposed apps once it boots with xposed disabled
If you're using system version of xposed, browse from twrp to the modules folder and delete the module by hand
Or just search on xda, there are threads where people post which module works on each version of Android

I
Safe?? In general, yes. Module specific - no different than the day module was born.
Stability is a completely different animal with numerous variables in play using "latest technology". Do your homework; seek community input on modules in question. Know how to recover from module failures and bootloops. Maybe consider a backup; I heard they're a good idea.

what are the pros and cons (if any) of Magisk over SuperSU ? i apologize if this is

i searched for some info but couldn't find any at a glance so perhaps I will just ask you guys. I apologize if this is a FAQ and i just missed it. i have supersu. i wonder if i should move to Magisk ?
1. what are the pros of Magisk
2. any downsides of Magisk ?
3. is there any tutorial for converting from SuperSU to Magisk ? i managed to get TWRP and SuperSU because someone else did it on my phone. that person is no longer be able to help. different country different timezone. not a friend either. it was a paid service done in Hongkong where and when I bought the phone.
again I apologize if this is a FAQ. I'm a noob. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I just want to set this phone right from the get go. it's a virgin phone. haven't install anything yet. well i install Titanium Backup just to make sure root is working. 99% virgin i guess. thank you for any help and pointers

Open source. Actively maintined. Root hiding. Systemless modifications. Big community. Etc...
Possibly not compatible with as many devices as SuperSU was.

Is supersu even being developed anymore? I'd love to have at least some sort of crappy Plan B as it looks like magisk has a possibility of dying.
