A new problem appeared on my NexusOne FRF91 - when using N1 as a WiFi hotspot for a while my display gets sometime frozen - I can switch phone on via a button, I can see a display but display doesn't react on any touch. I haven't noticed anything like this on FRF83 or FRF50. Anybody else with similar experience? Any idea about workaround, pls?
Thanks, Pavel

I'm using a stock Nexus 4 running Android 4.3 and when the Chromecast is running a Netflix video the phone will not go into deep sleep and BBS indicates that Netflix is the culprit. Is this an issue with my phone or is the implementation of Chromecast in the Netflix app to blame?

Are you running the latest Netflix update?

I believe this is the temporary fix to solve the problem that wouldn't allow the phone to wake after going to deep sleep while casting from Netflix. The phone would need to be hard rebooted and the newest Netflix app solved that by stopping the phone from going into deep sleep.

Yes. But it may be a permanent fix. I mean, I don't see how the phone should go into deep sleep when the Netflix controller needs to be actively connected in the background. The only solution is to kill the Netflix process. The video will still play and you can just open Netflix to get the controller back.
Netflixes solution is awful it doesn't seem to use any sort of local controls or typical lock screen implementation. It all relies on control page loaded from the net. Also it doesnt seem to properly have it's controls loaded as a foreground service so sometimes it just dies and doesn't respong and you have to reopen the netflix app (loading a bunch of stuff from the net again) to control it.
I think Youtube casting is causing same issues. So it is not the apps, it is the remote feature that is causing the wlan wake and can only be fixed deep inside Android's guts somewhere. To be honest, it only adds 1-2% per hour to the battery usage, and the only way to stop it if you are staying on the same wlan is to disable casting within the app.
While trying to watch YouTube it randomly stops dead. If I tap a spot on the time line the video quickly starts again. I've had this thing about 5 hours and it is seriously getting on my nerves. Add to the fact that the chrome browser isn't mirroring I'm about to smash this thing to bits. Any help!?
Netflix seems to work flawlessly.
I've tried improving network connection but that hasn't helped.
YouTube has this issue even when played from the browser on pc.

Exact same problem on my chromecast and is happening only since last evening. As you said, Netflix is flawless and its only With YouTube.
Thank god its not the device but seems like software or YouTube server support for chromecast. Hope it will get a fix pretty soon
This started happening to me last night. Youtube will freeze after about 2:20. It will start again if I skip forward or back, but only for another 2 mins. Have never had a problem before and Netflix works fine. I'm glad it's not just me.
Are either of you able to cast your tabs to your TV screen? Because I am also unable to get that to work from my pc to the Chromecast.
I had the same exact issue last night when watching YouTube. It would stop dead, and the only way it would start back, was when I tap the stopped point on the timeline as well.

Even casting the chrome browser tab had issues.... but after a while it worked... I am pretty sure even the chrome tab cast is lill messed up... Looks like the chromecast got a software upgrade which is causing these issues....
Does anyone know if there was a software upgrade yesterday?
Update:
I just exchanged the unit I had for another one but unfortunately I'm having the same issues. The unit itself force updates on startup which is a shame. It would be nice to do a revert and see if the old software functions correctly.
Youtube freezing
Same problem with me. I have two Chromecasts and Youtube stops on both of them roughly every 2.5 minutes, from both a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7. On 14th November around noon ET they were fine, but by the evening the problems had started. My Youtube app is showing as having updated on 14th Nov (although it's not showing up in the 'Recently updated' section in the Play app). Rebooting the Chromecasts, the android devices and the network all failed to eliminate the problem.
I have the same problem!!!
Mine seems to be fixed now.
Same here, YouTube was freezing yesterday at about 2 mins into any video. Tried it again tonight with zero issues. Happy, happy, happy...

I just watched a bunch of videos tonight without any issues. I'll try tab cast tomorrow and see if it works. I'd like to know exactly what was wrong. Did Google do an auto update.?
Its seems like Youtube works for non HD videos without problem. HD videos is not playing properly (shuttering, no voice, etc). Shutters more for music videos.

I'm still having problems too, no sound and stuttering video. I have two Chromecasts and they both do it. I'm in the UK though. I'm glad it snot just me, but slightly concerned yours all seem to be working now and mine doesn't
Everything else works fine.
This stuttering on hd videos really aggravating. My 3 year old is unable to watch lungi dance, so now I actually have to be a good parent early on a Saturday morning. Damn you Google!

I just tested a few HD vids and yes there was stuttering, almost If the Chromecast couldn't buffer properly.
same issue here in germany, tested with Nexus 4, 5, 7 and chrome on Pc
From today morning YouTube app is not loading from the chrome cast. From mobile app, I am getting no network try again message.
I have a feeling that Google is going kill the device silently.

I am on Android m3 stock. Not sure if it's a bug or if my device is dying. Sometimes my phone acts up and any time my finger gets close to the screen without actually touching it, it starts clicking all over the screen.. Anyone else experience this? Usually it's resolved by turning off and on the screen

Sounds like over sensitivity. I've seen it on other devices. To rule out hardware, flash back to lollipop stock.
I have a 2016 Accord EX-L and I've been enjoying Android Auto for the most part. The one annoyance I have is that my phone's screen wakes up constantly and shows the lockscreen. No new notifications have been received and if I actually unlock my phone only the black Android Auto screen displays. During the day I don't notice it much but driving at night it gets a little distracting.
I'm using a Nexus 6P on Android 6.0.1, stock rooted, and ElementalX kernel.
Is anyone else experiencing issues like this?
I'm not seeing this, but my 6P is not rooted.

I may turn off root temporarily and see if the problem persists. I do notice a lot of wakes from the system's Bluetooth Share. I'll keep an eye on that.
