So up till now I hadn't really tried using NFC on my phone since Android Pay didn't support Chase. For the past month or two I've been trying to get it work without any luck.
These are the things I've tried already,
Turning S-Beam Off, leaving Android Beam On
Tried transferring images with HTC M8 (Android Pay works on this one), didn't work, not even a beep
Wiping Data and Cache, to see if any of the apps might have been causing problems.
I'm starting to think my device hardware might be at fault, but before I jump the gun, is NFC/Android Pay working for any of you guys on latest software?

I have 6 SCH-i800 Verizon Galaxy Tabs that I purchased new from a company dumping it's stock of old tablets. I decided that I could use them for business and hand them out to my technicians to use for field work. However I did not want them to be able to access certain settings which I could not disable without having root access.
I started with just one tablet that I had already activated on Verizon and flashed it using the latest Cubed3 ROM by dsb9938. It seemed to be the best custom rom for my needs and worked great on the tab. 3G stayed active and connected under everything I threw at it for well over 48 hours. GPS worked. Everything was perfect.
I proceeded to flash the other tablets without issue, and then one by one began to activate them on Verizon. It wasn't until after this that I discovered to my horror that every tablet I activated after the flash had 3G connection issues. Randomly throughout the day the data will go into Upload only and then just go into data disconnect mode. The only way to get it out is to turn the data connection off then back on.
The only tablet not doing this is the one I activated prior to the flashing. Other than that all the tablets are identical, even down to the loaded software.
I tried wiping and re-flashing the tablets, but the same problem persists.
Same for all tabs.
Hardware Version: I800.0.4
Model: SCH-I800
Firmware: 2.3.5
Baseband: S:I800.0.4V.EI04
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-dsb9938.VZW.GTab.EI04.1.1.2
Build:SCH-I800.EI04
I flashed every tab using Heimdall 1.1.1, and from the latest update from Verizon, MC2.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
I have a question about, if a SM-G900A is ever fixable for the "Broadpwn" issue.
Now that AT&T has decided to stop patching the SM-G900A back after the April 2017 update, it seemed that the S5 was at the end of usable life using stock ROM without being vulnerable to the "Broadpwn" hack when the wifi is ever turned on or the high accuracy location is turned on as the wifi is turned on to help with location.
With the bootloader being locked by AT&T, on the SM-G900A, the highest version of alternate ROMs we can load is Lollipop (5.0), so that makes me wonder. Will lollipop custom ROMs for the SM-900A ever be patched for the "Broadpwn"? And since we can't load Marshmallow or Nugget with the patch included, is the SM-G900A now ever going to safe usable phone??
Thoughts?
That's exaggerating. Just make sure to turn off WIFI when away from home, the chance that you'll actually be hacked is very small.

I think you are not informed. Here is some information, including a break down of the hack WITH source code for it that was published.
Yes, turning off wifi will help but what you don't seem to know is that the wifi is turned on from time to time by the locations subsystem to use wifi to get a better location when GPS is not getting a good signal.

So my question still stands, will Lollipop builds ever get the patch that Marshmallow and Nugget got.? If not then AT&T short sightedness just made our phones vulnerable forever.

Unless we somehow receive patched, compatible, pre-built binaries, we most likely won't have a fix for Broadpwn. Nevertheless, the G900A should be relatively safe.
You can also turn off Location and the setting that uses Wi-Fi to help location services.

To be honest I don't believe android respects that setting. I have it and wifi disabled and battery usage will still show wifi being occasionally powered on.
for reference, for other S5 Variants look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73744951&postcount=8076
('cause google linked me here for my G900F i posted a reply there)
But we are on marshmallow 6.0.1
Though not helpful concerning the worm, the April 1 2017 patch is in fact marshmallow 6.0.1. I have it on my unlocked g900a right now.
For those who use Bluetooth devices on the go there is an even bigger security vulnerability that's been recently discovered. I know Samsung released a patch for the Broadcom issue for foreign variants so perhaps AT&T is waiting on them to release a fix for this new vulnerability and combine them in one update. I can't imagine testing for a simple security update would take this long otherwise.
However it's also possible that AT&T feels this is no longer a priority and simply expects S5 users to upgrade.
My HTC Desire 10i (Pro Dual Sim) factory unlocked device just now received a 192mb size incremental update. The update took a good 20 minutes to complete. No cosmetic changes found. Mine is a factory unlocked device which might be meant for Taiwan/Myanmar markets but I am using it here in Canada Fido network with no issues except for weak signal occasionally.
Details:
Android version: 6.0.
Software Number: 2.22.709.2
Android Security Patch Level: March 1, 2018
Did anyone else receive this or similar update? Also an unrelated question. I see that my device doesn't have HTC Music or HTC Gallery. Instead, it comes with Google Photos and Google Music. Is there a way to get access to HTC's own music and gallery applications that can be fully functional in this device? I don't want to either unlock bootloader or root device. Any valuable inputs are welcome.

Yes I did receive the update (update citing improvements on a Chinese carrier LTE service) after manually checking for it.
HTC are using Google apps now because they want to at least make Sense Home more streamlined with a more stock Android feel (plus I imagine that they want to cut down on the hassle of maintaining their propriety apps)
So you either use the stock Google apps or download third-party apps for what you are looking for.

How is your phone behaving on the Bluetooth front after this update? Bluetooth was never solid in this phone but I find it has gotten worse after this update. It loses Bluetooth connections very frequently; like every five minutes. Any idea?

prmbasheer,
Bluetooth is fine for me, granted I have used it with something that requires a prolonged connection, but I will test it out with my Bluetooth headset just to be sure, I only transfer small files with Bluetooth but I have switched to transfer via wireless which is much faster of course, I will test it out during the weekend and I will let you know if I have the same issue or not.
Cheers

Hey there, I tested my Bluetooth headset (skull candy sb2) for more than 12 hours and I am to report that I did not experience any connection interruptions.
Perhaps the radio on your phone needs to be checked, but can I be frank, this phone is ok, not great by all means, they [htc] obviously have no plans for future OS updates, my advice to you is sell this phone and get a new one, I'll probably do the same down the road, that's just my opinion.
Cheers.

This device is widely reported for Bluetooth issues. I am glad your device has no such issues. I am using a smartwatch and the same earphones you tried. So, it is basically two devices I need to be connected to this phone but it fails terribly. Every 5 - 10 minutes one of the devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting. So, now I have started using my other phone (LG G6) and this is stored for later use or as you suggested, a sale.

Hi all,
I hope you can help me with the following issue.
I purchased a Wandefoo Android 8 head unit on AliExpress for my Opel Astra H. Great unit, I love it. It has only one big issue;
Every now and again (one or two times per week) the Bluetooth and wifi connectivity appear to crash/go offline. When that happens you cannot connect blue tooth devices, it doesn't connect to any familiar devices or connect to wifi. The buttons are there but they appear to be irresponsive. Wifi is in off status unable to set it to on. Bluetooth opens the bluetooth menu but it doesn't do anything. It remains this way until one or a combination of the steps below are taken:
Only solutions are (a mix) of these step:
- Reboot the device by holding power button (Most of the time do that twice).
- If that doesn't solve it; reset the wifi/bluetooth settings in the systems menu.
- If that doesn't solve it; go the the recovery menu and delete the cache.
Then it will run for a couple of rides.
It never happens when it is working and you are driving. It changes after shutting down the car and thus the radio. I also tried to change the quick wake to a regular reboot everytime, but that doesn't prevent the issue from occurring.
I hope any of you can help me with this, or by fixing the issues or applying the proper updates/patches to this device. I have seen a tremendous amount of devices here and I don't know what fits my device. These are my specs:
Opel Astra H diesel 1.3 2007
Wandefoo Android 8 32gb headunit.

For those that might stumble on to this;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ifi-bluetooth-waking-t3852206/page6?nocache=1
Might have some solutions for you. I'm still in the middle of checking and testing and can't confirm yet.
It basically says two things;
1. Resetting the internal USB (hub) module through root and a script might solve some issues.
2. As it appears some new chips have been released solving these issues.
Hope it helps anyone.
Cheers Ben
Hi all! I was wondering if any of you guys have seen this issue before. I have an old Galaxy S10 that I wanted to resurrect for emulation and forgot the reason why I stopped using it was because the Bluetooth functionality, once toggled on, would look like it's trying to turn itself on but never enables.
I've tried:
Installing all updates
Resetting network settings
Clearing Bluetooth app cache / pairings
Wiping the system cache partition
Factory resetting
Re-flashing current and past firmwares
I was able to get Bluetooth to enable and function normally by random after re-flashing the firmware but would quit after 5-10 minutes.
On the S10 and my current phone Pixel 4a (with functional Bluetooth) I went into Developer options to check currently running services to compare. On the 4a the Bluetooth process is listed as having 1 process and 7 services, whereas on the S10 there were only 2 services and were missing services such as SapService, HidDeviceService, BluetoothPbapService, GattService. (I can post in an edit which services are failing to run on the S10 if need be). The Bluetooth process on the S10 will only show up once Bluetooth is toggled even though it doesn't enable, but will stop running, then start running again, rinse and repeat.
So that being said, is this a hardware issue that I'm SOL with? Are there any other remedies that I could try?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
First off, which S10 do you have... Exynos/Snapdragon makes a big difference, but knowing the model number helps a lot in general as well.
What firmware are you on now?
On my 973U (ie, Snapdragon) I have 1 process and 7 services right now (with BT turned on)... on Oreo with January security (I have stayed off A12 because of many reports of issues on it). I can provide more detail later if needed, as well.

I have an SM-G973U (CCT) running G973USQU6GUJ3, which I believe is the last version of Android 11. I've tried Android 10 and 9 firmwares (can't recall which ones) and I've been having the same issue regardless, which makes me think it could be hardware-based.
In a couple of hours I can edit this post with the two processes that do run, if need be.
Made a mistake - my phone is 975U but that shouldn't matter.
I'm on G975U1UES6GUL1 which I believe is a later version than what you have... but I don't think that will fix anything for your issue. I was on GUL before, and everything worked fine then.
I'd say start off bone-stock after an ODIN and see if it works there (ie, don't download anything, if you can avoid it). Maybe some app you have is killing the BT? But if it doesn't work there, then yes it could just be a hardware thing... disappointing for sure.
