damaged Huawei P9 - get data - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hello everybody,
I have a heavily damaged Huawei P9 - no display anymore, but the phone is still working, can charge it, can start it or shut it down, connect to the usb, but just in charge mode as the adb or Huawei software needs an authorization or to select in the phone to connect on the right way to the PC to see the files etc...
My question is : do you know a method how I can get all data dumped to my PC in this state ?
especially when I have no display and cannot select the right connection type.
Thank you very much,

did ur phone was dead ??
still on screen .. ur phone booting up ?

Not possible! Let your screen repaired

The screen repair I think is not an option for me, the phone is so damaged that it will be a waste of money, although the hardware is operational yet.

to somehow access some boot menu where I can get the dump of the phone or access the phone memory ?
Thanks

I recently did a data recovery from a galaxy note tablet using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66972563&postcount=1383
Worth a try.

Thank you, I will try the guide, I did a try earlier to access the phone through adb, but the adb cannot see it, as the phone default is just charging when it is connected to the usb, and due to missing display I cannot do any change or settings, I have just 2 buttons, the power on/off the vomune up/down buttons

Exactly the same problem with Huawey P9!!

Hello.
Had cause to change digitizer recently, and all went well. Phone tested ok and all functions working.
Without any further changes to the phone the notification bar would not unscroll if the phone is held in the upright position. Tried a factory reset and also a repair phone, but problem remains.
Tried flashtool with clean image, screen now has an even larger area that will not respond.
Tried .423 and still the same issue.
Software or hardware: any suggestions gratefully received.

Yes I tried repair through PC companion; Flashed new firmware - Not certain that I know what emma is?
Although I tend to agree that the hardware is 'faulty', it does seem at odds with the fact the phone was fully functioning after I replaced the screen with a OEM digitizer & glass.
As the phone was still 'new ' to me, having broken it within three days of ownership, I set about installing every free app I could. A few days later I thought I'd use the Factory Reset option to start afresh.
The phone worked as expected although I now noticed that I could not access the notification tab unless I rotated the screen. I then started down the path of using PC companion & Flashtool: The result is the screen has a more pronounced dead zone. Using the developer options I found the Y axis will not go lower than 400 (approx), X axis is fully functioning under this value.
I'm thinking I need to reference how the display is drawn: Segmental through the digitizer pins, or through software?
If all else fails: My 'run out of ideas plan' will be to remove the new glass from the digitizer, and replacing it upon the old digitizer...

Bring it to Sony service or to the service of the place where you have bought it from if you have guarantee. :good:

No, you can't. Sony doesn't have international warranty, too bad. Try to search forums and you'll find tutorial how to unbrick it disassemblying your phone (it could work).

No
Hard bricks caused by flashing wrong kernel on wrong device. If you flashed XZ2 kernel on XZ you will hard brick it. And if you flash wrong rom for wrong device also you will hard brick it
And sometimes it's caused by damaged hardware too
So take care again

[Q] Can I recover this LG G2 ? Snow on screen(see pic)

I got this phone the other day, It's just got snow all over the screen (it's out of warranty) so I opened the cover, pulled off all connectors and re-seated them (didn't remove any boards, just what was accessible once the back covers were off.
I am new to Android but, this model I have replaced 2 Displays on (not this phone), seems I get one for cheap with a broken display, I fix it and someone offers me more than triple what I paid for, so I keep selling them :-/ (a man cant turn down a big profit). So I know how to pull this phone apart and replace parts if needed. I was looking to give Android a solid shot here (I am a Windows Phone person now)and not sell this one...
Not sure if the display is toast or this is just a Bricked or something else.
Note:
-If I connect to a PC, it connects fine
-When the phone is on, If I touch the lower of the screen, I hear clicking
-Double click on the center of the screen wakes up the display.
-Verzion software tool does not detect the phone (even though a drive is mapped for it)
Also to know, I have never rooted a Android device, so no idea on how to tell if it's rooted or not from the file system. Yea, when it comes to Android devices, I am a NooB.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance !
Ok, Still trying to trouble shoot this, figuring it was a Brick or something with a lot of effort (The touch screen seems to work but, power off was a guessing game where to push to get it into bootloader mode).
I tried to go back to Stock with it, following these directions...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
Now during the process, every once an a while, on the top of the screen, I can see about 1/2 of the ICONs, it's static so it does not update but, it's the most I have seen off this display.
After showing Successful, it's still doing the same thing. accept a hair of it, static across the top of the screen.
So, does this lead down to a hardware based issue (if so, what part should be replaced), or is this display damaged and needs a replacement ?
Has anyone gone through this and can help ?
Edit, Picked up the one of the cables for the phone that the video, power, headphones all plug into, as all my problems are resulting in something that plugs into this cable, figured I would give it a shot, The only things that are left are the Main board, or the display itself.
Maybe this will fix it ?

Help me urgently.. My N7000 died

Hi guys,
my loved Note, yesterday died suddenly.
Last month's I had some problems, sometimes freezed and to use it again I had to go in cwm, do a backup, restore it and then restart. In this way the phone was ok for some says, but always delicate. I mean I couldn't do much things together for don't block it. As when Windows have problems [emoji41].
I had I'm plan to change the original rom, but my low skill made me to wait and wait.
Yesterday when I arrived work I found it switched off, as happen often. I boot in cwm and I got the error in photo.
I tried a swipe cache format, but it block. Normally it needs few seconds. Remain block for 1-2 min so I push power for 10sec.
It switch off, and never awake again.
I changed battery, nothing.
But when I put battery, back in camera area become warm.
Is it death? [emoji33] [emoji41][emoji30] [emoji30] [emoji30]
I have some chances to get it alive again? [emoji30]
Sorry for my bad English
Thanks to all
Ale

Doesn't switch on?!, you mean it can't even boot into recovery or download mode?
If that so, then I'm afraid it's a hardware issue bro, if you can boot into download mode, then you will be able to flash TWRP with Odin..

I need to recover photos from note 9 asap

Hello, I have just got my replacement phone from Verizon's insurance company. so i been holding off a couple of days to retrieve my lost photos since my screen in severely damaged. If i try connecting it to my pc it doesnt show any files, yet the new phone does since im able to enable the MTP connection. I tried using a keyboard plugged in via the OTG Adapter, granted it works but the screen wont turn on, only when the phone turns on I can see the top half of the screen; then a few seconds will go by and its black. Doing anything will keep it locked even if i try typing it anyway. Please help me figure a way out to get my photos back so i can send the claimed Note 9 in the mail this evening. Thanks!

Do you have a USB-C - HDMI Cable or Adapter ?? That's the only way i can think of you getting access to your Note 9!

this is a great idea. Get access to the phones GUI, offload the pics to google drive or whatever else you have access to, profit. cant forget to profit...
