Hi, I have a mi5 global version running on miui 7
so far i have requested an unlock code and in theory i am now allowed to unlock.
The thing is, i cant, after connecting the phone to the PC and running the mi unlock exe it gets to 50% and then fails.
From what i have read the problem must/should be, that i am not currently running the chinese version.
so my question now is: how do i flash the chinese version if the phone is kinda locked in the global version?
model nr: mi 5
android version 6.0 MRA58K
MIUI version: MIUI Global 7.2.8.0.0 MAACNDB Stable
build number: MRA58K
thank you in advance. Best regards!:highfive:
Download the MIUI Global Beta version as a zip file from the MIUI site.
After that, put that file on the internal memory (download ROM directory is available for this).
Then start the Update app (or via the settings button Update).
Press the tool sign (right top) and choose the downloaded file.
It will probably tell you that this is an older version then you have running now, but just ignore that and start the upgrade.
This will work with the official MIUI versions, even with locked bootloader.
At least i did it this way

Hi all. I've come up with a solution to install the Stable Global Rom WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader
My redmi note 7 is bought in the Peruvian physical store and came with the Stable Rom EEA without unlocking the Bootloader
1º Download and install on the Windows PC the XiaoMiTool V2 application from: https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/latest?p=windows
2º On the phone activate the developer options and activate debugging by USB
3º Run the XiaoMiTool V2 app. When finished installing the drivers connect the phone. In the application select the option "My device works normally I want to mod it".
If this is the first time we connect the phone by ADB, we must unlock it and give permission.
4th When we detect the phone correctly we have to select the option to install a Rom Stock. There, in the list that is shown, you have to select the "Stable Global Rom". If we select directly the Rom Developer asks you to have the bootloader unlocked
5º Accept and let the program work. Follow the instructions given by the program. There is a point where it asks us to manually select a recovery options. The phone restarts several times.
We already have the Stable Global Rom installed on our phone. without unlocking the Bootloader.
hope it has been helpful

No, only china developer rom.
How can i turn back to from Global to EEA? Why is there no Global DEV? I have test but i dont get the Global on my Note 7. After pushing the rom to the phone this reboots and get a error. Bootloader is locked. After i get the error i reboot the phone but only see the Bootanimation and dont boot to System.
What changes from EEA to Global Stable?
I'm trying to switch from global eea version 10.3.4.0 (PFGEUXM) to global stable 10.3.6.0 (PFGMIXM). Is this method going to wipe all of my data?

Thx in advance!

Hi All,
I recently purchased a new Redmi K20 Pro off a friend who by mistake bought what I believe to be a Chinese ROM phone due to opening up apps in Chinese...
I have unlocked the bootloader and am ready to progress to flashing a new rom. However, I have seen in videos and read that you need to flash the correct rom in order not to brick the device. You can create issues by not using the correct vendor rom? I'm wanting to flash a global rom in order to not have a chinese rom with Chinese apps...
What I am hoping to achieve is to flash a global or rom that is in english with google apps ready to go.
I also want to know if I will be able to lock the bootloader once I have flashed the new rom or do I not worry about locking it? I assume if I lock the bootloader, I will be able to use google pay etc?
I have searched and I am unable to find a correct guide that will work for the device I bought...
Can anybody please point me in the right direction with what I need to do in order to get my phone to a global rom where all apps are in English please?
MIUI Version - MIUI 11.0.8 Stable
11.0.8.0 (QFKCNXM)
Android Version - 10
Baseband version - 1.0.c3-59.1-0322_2

Kernel Version - 4.14.117-perf-gc8b9

Hardware version - V1
I've been looking and found this guide - May I confirm this will be what I need to convert to a global rom and not brick my device?

Look here for the fastboot ROM
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/supported/miui/
Choose the fastboot ROM for either European or Global raphael
Use this guide to flash it
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
View the page in desktop mode if viewing on a phone.
IMPORTANT
You must not lock the bootloader. You will brick the phone if you lock the bootloader with any ROM other than Chinese.
The default flash option in the Mi Flash Tool is to lock the bootloader when flashing. You must change this.
In step 5 of the guide make sure you change the flash option to 'clean all' in the Mi Flash Tool before hitting the flash button.
Hi there!
I know this might look like a dumb question but I want to know before I mess something with my phone, lol. The question is, are MIUI updates accumulative? I mean, at this moment I'm still on MIUI 10 (Android 9 based) but I want to update to MIUI 11 (Android 10 based), I own a Mi 9T Pro, global version running MIUI 10.3.3.0 and MIUI 11.0.4.0 it's available to upgrade via OTA, can I update with no problem? Or do I need to install the first version of MIUI 11 and the move to the latest version?
Thank you.
nah, you can easily just tap the OTA button and update no problem.
(locked bootloader right? if so, no problems)

Thanks. And yes, bootloader is locked and everything's stock. I will try to download the update package and then transfer it to my phone, of course the OTA version so I can update from the updater app.
Hello,
In order to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM, I need to downgrade from Android 10 beta to Android 9, since the latest beta doesn't work with the official ASUS unlock APK.
Problem is, when I try to flash the Android 9 image, I get the same error whether I try with adb or with the internal tool.
The message I get is 'This package is for "WW_Phone" devices. This is a "" '. Error status is 7.
My phone is neither unlocked nor rooted, so I don't get how it's not recognized.
Any help?
Auto-solved
FYI, if you try to downgrade with the android P image found on the asus website, it won't work.
You have to download the image with file name starting with Q_P_UL...
we"re facing the same problem i can't downgrade my phone i forgot to unlock bootloader first. please help
You don't need to unlock the boooader for a simple downgrade. If it's still locked dowoad the image starting with Q_P... then put it in your phone's root folder.
can you please give me a download link for the Q_P_UL file tho
