I flashed my Xperia SP with from Jellybeam to CM13 rom. I didn't create any backup, wiped clean everything including cache using twrp recovery. While the setup installed CM13 without any error but I downloaded the wrong gapps and the setup didn't accept those. So I chose to reboot the cell and since then it just stopped responding. Although it is showing the green led while plugged in via USB, it won't start in neither fastboot nor recovery mode.
I'm stuck here and have no idea what to do.
I tried installing PC companion, flashtools, SP flashtools, emma, everything. None of these detect my cell. I'm using Windows 10 (64 bit) and am at a dead end.
Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE:
I managed to flash it with errors and now it's stuck in a SONY logo bootloop. Its starts, shows SONY logo for a while and then turns off again. Again it's not getting recognised by any flash tool, sony companion etc.
Help please.

Installed the driver and flashed it with a rom but it's still stuck on the SONY logo. One more thing, It's bootloader wasn't unlocked when I messed up at the beginning. What can I do to save my phone?

Whether I try to flash it or unlock, phone boots up before the process is completed. I'm completely stumped here.
Hi! Still have the problem? I faced the same two days ago when I tried to change the on on my SP. But finally I could save the Phone by searching a bit on the net. Pls tell me if matter is still on and I try to translate the steps to english.

Hey!
Sad to hear, but maybe (I hope) this method will help you. Basically what you will get is an original Xperia SP with 4.1 android as it came from the factory.
You will need:
1. Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde" version 0.9.18.6. Don't know if newer version came or better. You can find it here in forums. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489955
2. The basic ROM "12.0.A.2.254".
The method that helped me:
SP turned off. Cable not connected.
Start Sony Mobile Flasher (Flashtool) , give administrator rights.
Top left cornet click on the bolt and choose flashmode, then in firmware selector you can find and select the downloaded ROMs and kernels. Choose the official 4.1 (12.0.A.2.254). Click falsh so it starts to proceed.
Then a windows appears called "wait for flashmode".
Now. Grab your turned off SP press volume down and connect the usb to pc. Keep holding volume down button till flashtool starts to upload the system. (Hopefully it will be fast enough, and phone will not turn on. For me it was)
After flashtool is finished you will see:
09:50:53 - INFO - Flashing finished.
09:50:53 - INFO - Please unplug and start your phone
09:50:53 - INFO - For flashtool, Unknown Sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings
09:50:54 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
Unplug and start the SP
If everything went as planned you have your phone back with stock 4.1 and 12.0.A.2.254 kernel.
you can find the firmwares here: https://mega.nz/#F!1xME0bZB!lGvex2Gc3cZFr3NoEFFWww!hgN3GBAC

Thanks a lot brother. At first it didn't work when I flashed it with the latest version of Flasher. Then I installed the exact version you mentioned (0.9.18.6) and phone didn't boot during the flashing and now it's back to normal with the default 4.1 stock.
Thanks a bunch, you're a life saver for me. :highfive:

It seems my LT30p lost flashmode.
After upgrading to 7.0.A.3.195 via "Sony PC Companion 2.1" I flashed the older LT30p_4.0.4_Vodafone.ftf with the flashtool to get back root option.
All works fine.
Now I want to flash the "LT30p_7.0.A.3.195_Vodafone_DE.ftf" I created from the "Sony PC Companion" folder with flashtool.
My problem is, the phone only is able to go into fastboot mode (irrelevant pressing volume down or up).
I re-installed the flashtool-drivers without any improvements.
What have I done and how am I able to get back the flashmode mode for my phone?
Thanks in advance.

You seem to be going around the houses. If you flash that you will lose root again. The only way to root on .195 is with an unsecure kernal and unlocked bootloader.
Just upgrade again through pccompanion and then unlock bootloader and flash advanced stock kernel v4.

Thank you. I know that at first I lost root again.
I thought (and that's I understood from that post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33568696&postcount=48) that it will possible to flash the ftf file instead of using the "PC Companion" software. I am not happy to lose my holo hd launcher's settings e.g.
I hoped it will work as you described here:
Part 2. Rooting
If you are on 7.0.A.1.303, follow Bin4ry's method from post 2.
If you are on 7.0.A.3.195, follow the other method in the how to root section from post 2.

OK, There is no such thing as flashboot mode. Its either flashmode or fastboot.
Try this
download and install latest flashtool.
Goto driver folder and install drivers for fastboot/flashmode/xperia tx
Then open flashtool and drag and drop the .ftf you want to flash into the open window of flashtool. Wait untill flashtool tells you to connect phone.
Turn phone off, count to 10, hold volume down button and connect usb cable

It might be, that there is no flashmode with that ftf?

I did all of them more than once except using PC Companion. Thank you.
I will not use this tool, because it's not my favor to re-install the halo hd gui and moving other tools via root explorer. I'll wait for OTA, if vodafone germany will rollout 7.0.A.3.195 via ota.
If not, I'll see and look further. But I explain, this has been my first and also my very last Sony Smartphone.

You give up too easily.
Uninstall flashtool and all sony software from your PC and reinstall.
Also, you can make a backup of your system using recovery and flash your /data back in recovery after you have sorted the problem.
Personally, i will never get another phone other than sony.

Thanks again, I am familiar with CWM. I used many different roms with my Galaxy S1 and later with my SIII, too.
With Samsung flashing firmware / custom roms is much easier then with Sony Xperia.
I installed all the needed stuff on an other computer I have in my household and voila it works.
I flashed the rom without wipe data and it works, still without root.
After unlocking boot loader and flashing the V4 comes the shock: all my apps are gone and I have to re-install all my stuff, accounts, gui and so on. I hate that work. Okay, Titanium Backup helps, but it costs many time to get back that system I have had previously.
CWM is a great thing to flashing ROMs and kernels, too. Also great if you want to restore an full image, but to restore (user) data often Titanium Backup is the better choise. But that are only my two cents.

If you read the whole of the instructions from the SOny site about unlocking the bootloader it clearly states that all data will be lost and that you should make a backup of it.
Certain content on your phone may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys and the secure user data partition while unlocking the boot loader. We advise you to create backups, since user data, settings and accounts will be removed.

Hi,
Just got my new ZR and it came with 10.3.1.A.0.244
I need to root, so I can restore my app's data from my old phone (Xperia SOLA) via Titanium.
I started by following this thread and doing as advised:
- install USB drivers (Z, A, fastboot and flashmode)
- change USB mode to MSC
- activate debug over USB
- install Flashtool (upgrade in my case)
- restart phone in flash mode
- use flashtool to flash XperiaZ_C660X_KernelOnly_10.3.A.0.423_Generic_NL.ftf
- flashtool says it succeeds, to remove cable and start phone
That's where it gets stuck! The phone doesn't wake up. I remove the battery, press the power button for a couple of seconds and it vibrates and ... nothing else. If I hook the phone into FlashTool, it says the phone is in flash mode.
I've tried flashing the XperiaZ_C660X_KernelOnly_10.3.1.A.0.244_BE.ftf, but nothing works.
I bring the phone back alive by using SUS, but I'm back where I started. I've done this 3 times, and redownloaded the FTF 2 times.
What am I doing wrong? I'm still on locked bootloader. The phone has less than 24 hours... hasn't seen water yet :cyclops:
Wanted to test a couple of things, before voiding my warranty!!
If anyone has any ideas/sugestions, I'd love to hear them!
Hajah

As I see it, no valid method to get root on 4.2!
Can I flash 4.1.2 on my locked bootloader? And where do I find the correct ROM image for my C5503?
Thanks again!

Yes, you can flash any firmware without unlocking your bootloader.
You can get all 4.1 and 4.2 stock ROM from different region in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384512
You can try to root your 4.2 using the method, some reported to be successful.

is there a quick and easy method to check if the bootloader is unlocked or not?
See this post.
I am in an awkward situation.
xperia z, 4.2.2 244 rooted stock rom, bootloader locked, usb debug mode off, recovery not installed.
I accidentally corrupted build.prop and the phone bricked.
I cannot use flashtool to flash the stock rom back because usb debug mode is off.
I cannot use Sony update service Pro to force update because it said that "your phone already has the latest available software installed".
I cannot use PC Companion to repair because the software said that "Sony update engine doesn't have software available for your phone".
Please help.

The above didn't work for me because I received error based on my type of phone.
This guide however did help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
I had to reboot windows to a settings to enable unsigned drivers. Installed Flashtool and it's drivers,
First unlocked the bootloader(BLU button, got the IMEI, used the sony form (http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions))
Then I downloaded the stock sony xperia z ftf image, placed it in Flashtool's firmware folder, then flashed it (flash device > flash mode).
Now my phone's working again.

If you still can enter custom recovery, you only need flash rom and (with) suitable kernel.
If not, you need Flashtool.
- make sure you have the newest version of flashtool and driver
- connect your phone to pc.
- when computer show error about usb not recognized, go to computer management - device manager. Find something in universal serial bus controller list that have yellow triangle and exclamation mark. right click and remove it
- disconnect your phone then reboot your pc
- install flashtool and driver, reboot pc again
- connect your phone to pc. Now, it should detect your phone.
- do flashing procedure

- connect your phone to pc.
- when computer show error about usb not recognized, go to computer management - device manager. Find something in universal serial bus controller list that have yellow triangle and exclamation mark. right click and remove it
- disconnect your phone then reboot your pc
- install flashtool and driver, reboot pc again
- connect your phone to pc. Now, it should detect your phone.
- do flashing procedure

Errm i mean that my phone doesn't stay in flashmode long enough for me to install the drivers into the phone
Well if you have done everything right with flashtool's installation, then you're doing something wrong while flashing.
If you want to flash a new firmware into your phone you must plug-in your device in "normal" mode (not flash mode), then:
1) Execute flashtool
2) select the "flash device" icon
3) select "flashmode" option, click "OK"
4) select firmware you want to flash (make sure which options you want to be checked/unchecked)
5) click on "flash" button
This is when Flastool will ask you to
->Unplug device
->Power off
->Press Vol- button and connect while pressing (this is flash mode)
Give it a try, also read a little bit about Flashtool procedures.
Cheers

Hi all,
So I got this Sony Xperia SP C5303 from a friend of mine which is stuck on a boot loop (SONY logo => XPERIA logo => Orange logo, then screen dims and reboot )
I tried to flash it with FlashTool but nothing, I downloaded the ftf for it and I have installed all the drivers from the flashtool driver folder but nothing, I always get an error on Flasgtool indicating that I must install the drivers
As I said, the phone cannot be booted and I have never connected it to my computer so there were no previous drivers, so what should I do ? (I have Win 7 btw)

Don't know what you mean by all but the three necessary ones are fast boot, flash mode & viskan board drivers. Use the latest version of Flashtool, install those drivers, prepare the firmware and connect the phone pressing the volume down button.

I do have FlashTool the latest version (0.9.18.6) and what I meant by "all" is that when I run the "FlashTool drivers" that comes with the software, it gives me a checklist of the available drivers, I ticked every single one of those drivers, and they're all installed, but still, FlashTool shows an error that the driver must be installed !

You don't need to install all of them, just the three I mentioned. Could possibly be causing detection issues.
Go download USBDeview and see what you got installed. I'd advise you to remove everything Android and Xperia related and start from scratch to avoid conflicts. If you have installed things properly, you phone should show up as something like this in USBDeview -
Normal mode
Xperia SP - USB Composite Device
Fastboot mode
S1Boot - Fastboot Android ADB Interface or ADB Bootloader Interface or something similar.
Edit : Just as I finished posting, my SP wasn't getting detected in adb. Why? Because I had connected my brother's Xperia ZR and for some reason my phone doesn't like other phones being connection on my machine It was showing up as Linux storage unit or something. Reinstalled drivers via FlashTool and everything's good again. Drivers are finicky things man.

LOL, well I've got a little update
I flashed the phone first with Sony PC Companion, after it finished, I plugged out the phone and started it, it took some while to boot, the screen showed up but it wasn't responsive, after a couple of seconds, it dimmed and it rebooted and now it's back to the same old issue (SONY > XPERIA > Orange > Reboot).
Right afterwards, I flashed it using FlashTool (This time it worked perfectly, which is weird) but still nothing, after finishing the flash and plugging out the phone, it's stuck on the SONY, XPERIA and the colorful waves bootanimation ....
I've no idea what is wrong with this thing now

Well the fact that it's getting there means there isn't anything significantly wrong with it.
Have you tried rebooting it using the off button at the back? Sometimes it does that the first time booting into the ROM. Just press and hold the button for a few seconds with a pen or a toothpick to reboot the device.
You could also boot back into recovery and do a factory reset just to see if it helps the cause.
You can also try different firmware versions. Maybe 4.1.2 instead of 4.3.
BTW is the boot loader unlocked on the phone?

I did try the tiny yellow OFF button in the back several times through the flashing process and whatnot, but nothing .
I tried getting into recovery mode but it just won't it just keeps on doing the same bootloop as before
I dunno if trying a different firmware would help, I highly doubt it but I will try it as I got nothing to lose
I've no idea what that boot loader is but I DID try to unlock it using FlashTool's BLU and I got this in the log "07/029/2015 21:29:05 - INFO - Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked"

You need to press either the volume up or down button a few times when you're booting up to get to the recovery. If you have done it right then after the Sony splash screen you should go into the recovery.
Boot loaders need to be unlocked to be able to flash custom recoveries & ROMs but forget about unlocking the boot loader for now since you do not know what it is and without your phone working there's no way of knowing for sure of it can be done or not.
Like I said try doing a factory reset in the recovery or a different firmware to see if it helps.

Well, I just did some research and I found out that Sony phones do not have a stock recovery mode . . . So there's no recovery mode for me (I did try but nothing)
I'm going to try to unlock the boot loader using SDK and if nothing happens, I'll try to flash it with a different firmware

Oh damn I forgot you had flashed stock firmware...yeah Sony phones ship w/o a recovery. Even if it had one, it wouldn't be much use other than wiping cache & dalvik, factory reset and installing official signed updates. A big reason why people unlock their boot loaders to install a custom recovery.
Before you proceed try to understand as much as you can about what you are doing. Don't go in half cocked and create more problems for yourself. The main problem you face is that you don't have a working system so
a) you don't know whether you bootloader can be unlocked to begin with and
b) even if it can be, you can't take a TA backup to save your warranty cause your phone's not working. If you don't take the backup before the first time you unlock, your warranty's pretty much gone forever.
If you still wanna proceed, check out the link below. Another poster wanted to unlock recently so the thread below contains boot loader unlocking instructions. There are four I have listed. Read carefully before you proceed.
