Might as well wait for the 39A .kdz. People are officially receiving the 39A OTA, starting today on VZW. It shouldn't bee too long (hopefully) for the newer .kdz to be released.

Yup. There are people like @xdabbeb that still love kk that I figured would that would need this one. I'm waiting for the 39a kdz as well.
Got me all excited. I thought this was the official lollipop OTA

I don't think an official change log has been posted. I don't remember what the size of the OTA was, but from what I recall it was small (especially as compared to 39A). This is the OTA you must install to take the 39A OTA. If you want to KDZ to the last version of KK on the VS980, this would be the easiest way to get to it without doing the OTA process.

Nice! I'd have to flash back to stock, take the OTA update and then root again. I wonder if it's worth it or not. Do you notice any difference in OE2?
That's exactly how I did it, but this time using the PingPong Beta6 version to root. I can't report differences yet since it has been just updated. I will give it a day or so to notice the differences/changes.

Do we need ANOTHER post on this? I made the exact same post highlighting the fact that people weren't searching for the post on root in the SAME forum as this post yesterday......
Mods?
I'm sorry if it bothered you but my post is about rooting yesterday's OTA update. The post that you referred to is a generic post and my post confirms that the OE2 update for the G925A is rooted. Anyway, mods can delete this thread if they understand that it's just another post saying the same.

Absolutely correct there is no need for two threads on the same topic
This one is closed.

Do you ever wanted to install TWRP, root MM or install custom ROMs?
... THEN READ ON
As I do not know if you here are aware of my unlocking attempts I wanted to point to my thread over here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/bl-unlock-unlock-bootloader-proof-t3648288
Before starting check your antirollback version ( http://tinyurl.com/antirollg4 )! This method will *not* work for devices with an ARB>=3.
The main thing is that my method is based on flashing / converting any device into a LS991:
So if you own a LS991 device it should just work for you - without functional limitations (afaik)!
I mean until now I have no LS991 testers yet but that hopefully changes after this post
.
After looking, can you clarify how things would be different if you use that procedure with the Sprint LS991?
I ask because seems like most of the steps are for tricking *other* phones into saying that they are LS991. But, if you already have a sprint phone, it already will say that, so what is left of the procedure that is somehow different from previous attempts?
Is it something about using a different windows boot mode to install TWRP - is the new procedure somehow allowing us to install TWRP permanently on a sprint LS991?

It will disable secure boot *enforcement*. That means it will still detect modifications of your boot and recovery partition but ignoring it so you can install TWRP and custom ROMs.

I can say up to ZV6 only but as long as no one test I can't say for sure.. I still can't say if the anti rollback means qfuse because in my tests I was able to flash an anti rollback of 2 which can also be device model specific behavior btw..

But when I checked at the link, it uses different terminology, like v1, v2, v3. I'm guessing but is ARB equivalent to v?

I have unlocked SM-N960U and I seem to be unable to get Samsung+ to display the banner for oneUI beta, I then tried several times to do it manually by doing ODIN but I keep getting port problem even after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB cable driver and restarting the computer.

Don't use Odin with that firmware. That's not for your device. That's for N960F. Yours is N960U. I believe you have the snapdragon version. This firmware is for the exynos model. Please be careful not to brick your phone. Always properly read the instructions and thread titles.
Maybe someone else can help you with the snapdragon pie version as I own the exynos model. Good luck.
That xda link you posted is also for N960F. Be careful.

The beta is closed now. And there's no reason to start a whole new thread. There's already a out four threads talking about installing the beta on Snapdragon devices. Use the search bar. Read those threads. If you can't find your answers, then you can ask questions in a pre-existing thread. Although considering the EXACT steps you need to take to install the beta have been spelled out several times (many time by me in various threads), you will find your answers if you take time to look for them.
Honestly though, and I'm genuinely not trying to be mean, but if you have not researched enough to know what version of trh Note 9 you have, or the differences in the versions of the Note 9 or consequences of flashing the wrong firmware, then playing around ODIN is not for you. You need to do some reading and research before you irreversibly brick your thousand dollar phone.

I'm thinking about trying out the Pie Beta and wanted to try this.
It looks like you're using odin to flash the phone to a firmware thats compatible with the beta update, and than using the traditional update method to actually update to Pie.
I'm really nervous about doing this since I can't find original versions of my firmware (Meaning I can't go back), did everything still work for you? My understanding is that the feature you might lose is Wifi calling, which is an important reason why Xfinitity is so much cheaper.
If you download and run Phone INFO by *Samsung* (Not quotes, stars), does it say your CSC code is CCT?
Thanks
