Can't catch radio at all... HELP - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Please someone help me!
I bought the used Nexus 6 and found that it can't catch any radio signals.
I tried to fix it by flashing the OS but did not work.
I also checked its EFSs and found that it has been messed up by the previous owner.
-> On #441 BAND_PREF, the value is set to FFFF.
I think EFSs have to be reset to fix, specially the band settings like
-# 441 BAND_PREF
-# 1877 RF_BC_CONFIG
-# 1878 RF_HW_CONFIG
I figured out the default values for #441 and #1877, but could find the default value for #1878.
So, could you someone help me to find out the default value for #1878?
Thank you!

I have found and edited these keys:

SpkVolume : REG_DWORD
Specifies the default speaker volume with respect to the AT+VGS command. Default value is set to 8.
Have changed these from 7 on my P4350 to 20 for both values !
Also found in another article:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\%handsfreedeviceID%\Services%handsfreedeviceID%
You would find a dword called name, verify that the value coressponds Hands Free
Change the channel to 5 (my default was 2)
An article noted that this could help ! This is going to be my second option to fix it !

Can anyone with a TyTN II ROM (ie NOT AT&T) help me?

Can owners with the TyTN II ROM see band selection in the Phone Settings (to choose between Auto, 3G/WCDMA, GSM)? If so, could you post a screenshot or list out the values under the following in the registry:
HKLM/Software/OEM/PhoneSetting
Thanks for the help in advance.
auto = 10
GSM (900+1800) + UMTS2100)=50
GSM (1900+850) +UMTS(1900+850) = 58
UMTS (2100+800)=30
Hope that helps. But why you need the value? just select the band and done with it.
Just select Network = GSM or AUTO(3G) for battery convern.
GSM/UMTS = auto
Because there is no band setting in the phone settings. I'm trying to determine what is different here, and it seems like there is a difference in the registry. My registry settings for that page are COMPLETELY different.

I have the band setting in the phone settings, looks nothing like what was posted though. I have three sub directories, "Band Type", "FDN", "NetworkType", each with several "ItemValue" Dwords, and "ItemName" string values.
In the root of Phone Settings:
(Default) (value not set) : string
ShowPIN2Page=1
ShowNITZPage=1
ONSDisplayRule=1
ShowUMTSBandPage=1
Enable3GLongNamePrefix=1
ShowALSPage=1
QOSTrafficClass=4
LongNamePrefix = "3G" (string value)
Attached is a Registry file for my entire "PhoneSetting" entry
Just load the HTC Rom on you Tilt. It works lot better than AT&T Rom. I also using TomTom 6. Works really well.
With HTC Rom, it links with my Mercedes Benz BlueTooth handfree, with AT&T it will not show all contacts and call history.
LOAD the HTC Rom, it work great!!! I have been using it for almost a month without freeze.

registry editor!!!!

can anyone give me a link to a good registry editor that i can actually edit registry's..... thanx i really need one for tweaks
Please use the search button, that's what it's for.
I use PHM Registry Editor.
I use CeRegEditor.
http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/
I would recommend CE Reg editor.
Hi, I got confused
I installed the CeRegistry. However when i try this tweak:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to "1" by default. Change value to "0" ( Wake Up on New SMS).
It says 'Access denied' and 'You can not change the value data'.
But if i try this tweak:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1 (Enable GPS photo )
It works.
Mine is o2 xda Diamond.
I just wonder if i am restricted for special part of the reg that i can modify. If so how can i unlock this restriction?
There's an option in CERegEdit to unlock. There is in the one I use anyway...

I tried that already in under 'Tool'
It says that the reg is unlocked.
However when i try to modify the value, i still got the same error msg:
'Access denied'.
That's where i got confused

sygate + activesync = no go

Hi,
at my work we use sygate firewall. With my old HTC prophet, I had to use these reg settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of value to add: MTU
Type: DWORD
Data: 1514 (decimal)
Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642 (decimal)
... otherwise activesync would not connect.
Now, with my new Diamond I have the same issue. But this time, the Reg settings don't help.
Can someone help?
Thanks
I had the very same problem in the beginning.
SOLUTION: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/guide/activesync-sygate.mspx
Sygate is one of the best firewalls i've used.
hi, thanks - but our firewall is setup by the IT dept, and it cant be changed
in the meantime, I just disabled it

AutoCompleteRecipient not found in registry

The “autocomplete recipient” on my xperia is not working.
Good news is that I’ve found a couple of thread that serves as pretty good solution to the problem.
Bad news is following the instructions to change the registry in: HKLM\System\Inbox\RecipientAutoComplete, i found that there is no “RecipientAutoComplete” in my phone.
Therefore in this case, how do I get the recipient auto complete to work?
If not, how do I create one?
Appreciate if someone could help me out. Thanks…
you have to make one. specific instructions depend on which registry editor you are using
I can't find that key, either. I created it and set the required DWORD value, then reboot the device, but it doesn't work.

did you create a dword-value "RecipientAutoComplete" or did you create the folder first and created a dword-value inside?
"RecipientAutoComplete" is a folder with more keys inside, not a value itself. Just in case...
In my registry it looks like this: (not sure if it works with this values on every rom!)
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\Inbox\RecipientAutocomplete]
"MaxSuggestions"=dword:00000000
"IncludeContactsGroups"=dword:00000003
"DisableIMEContextInAddressFields"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\Inbox\RecipientAutocomplete\SuggestionGenerators]
"phone"="{BEBD4D6C-33D1-473f-8F78-FB1A42712610}"
"email"="{99ae0ef2-0772-4bd4-8f49-d0672b3f6480}"
strange thing is that "max suggestions" is set to 0, yet i get names from the first letter on... maybe there's more to it?
caliban2,
I did exactly the same as per your instruction, but still failed to get the expected result. Maybe there are something else I did it incorrectly....
