Guys i tried to flash mirek's rom v6 with his tool. I connected the tablet and when start flash, the tool erased android system and then it's blocked with an error. Now the tablet work only with windows. How can I fix android?
Run tablet in droidboot boot .
Vol - + power and choose flash from droidboot boot .
Or use MFT
Fixed with mft installed in a different pc

One question, I attempt to install a new ROM and I select the wrong XML file. Now, the tablet only shows the Android logo on dual boot menu. Can I reflash with MFT and the correct XML to repair Windows or I need to install Windows?
Thanx !!
After I flashed android (mirek 6.1) my tablet turned off at the android setup screen. Every time I try to turn it on, it turns off after 2 seconds. I can't boot into the bios, but I can boot into DNX mode.
So you can probably flash new rom with Manufacturing Flash Tool using Dnx mode. There is TecKnight tutorial in Air 3g General section how to do this.

C6J7
Ask him in PM to make a restore package for your C6J7.
Good evening gents,
Since I broke my BIOS on my m5c5 by flashing the wrong one with Tecknights Tutorial, I was desperately trying to get back to the working BIOS.
Thanks to ionioni we have a way to unbrick our devices (as long as they still boot into dnx).
I accidentally flashed the wrong BIOS on to my X98 Air iii (m5c5) and thought i bricked it beyond repair (except opening it up and flashing it with EEPROM Clip).
Now we have a solution to flash the DUAL BOOT - BIOS to the m5c5 through dnx mode:
WARNING: EVERYTHING YOU DO, YOU DO AT YOUR OWN RISK! Only tested on m5c5! Using it on other devices can HARDBRICK!!!
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CUT THE USB OR POWER AND WATCH OUT THAT THERE IS ENOUGH POWER IN THE ACCU.
1. Copy the following files into your fastboot directory on your pc:
https://anonfiles.com/file/28e5e4990eee25d74ff4d6cc99fdb548
2. Boot the device into dnx/fastboot (pressing power and Vol+/Vol- at the same time)
3. Plug the device in via usb, open up a command prompt in your fastboot directory and type the following:
fastboot devices #Check if device is recognized
fastboot flash osloader efilinux.efi #Push Efiloader onto device
fastboot boot bios_restore_m5c5.img #restores the dual boot bios
4. Wait for reboot. There is now a 100 second timer in case of second guesses and afterwards update notifications during the flash. It takes between 3-5 Minutes. DO NOT FORCE REBOOT it WILL HARDBRICK
Be happy to have unbricked your BIOS. And thank ionioni !! PM him if you have any questions!
Fastboot boot --> that instruction not flashing anyting only booting partition to ram .
What is doing that img ? I'm curious .

it flashes the bios @mirco446 gave me (also asked him and sent me the droidboot.img from the stock)
i used the droidboot.img sent as a base and modified it (included in it the bios sent together with the intel FPT binary for writing a bios file) and it just boots and runs when boot is completed the binary to flash the bios file (this is why one should NOT reset or power off the device after it enters the fastboot boot command as this could result in a partially written bios and this translates to HARD-BRICK). at the end it reboots to load the new bios
normally should also output some messages but for some reason it doesnt capture the framebuffer device and since i don't own the device i cannot 'debug' to check on why... but this is only a minor issue (not having status messages), so one just needs to wait a few minutes until the device reboots confirming that the bios was wrote.
nothing fancy
Interesting ... thanks for explanation .
And he did it for C5J8 too, mine is alive too.
hello i have the same problem with my m5c5 but it don't work for me.

i won't invest anymore time in this. already tried this below stuff... not working
seems that it doesn't boot the image at all, this could be due to an existing IA32 bios (post a link to the bios you flashed so i can check)
until then...
you can try again and skip the first 'fastboot flash osloader efilinux.efi' if it still doesn't work replace the efilinux.efi file with one from a x86 older rom
no matter what wait until the tab reboots by itself after you enter the 'fastboot boot' command(~30-40 seconds if it cannot boot, at most 5 minutes if it does, in this case it will also flash your bios)

Hi, can you make one for c6j7?
Hi,
I have exact same problem as bosondehiggs. "couldn't find boot device handle." when I try to flash the restore bios.img. I used the file with the link at top of thread.
Any idea?
Thanks for your help
Hi,

I hope anyone who solved the problem can help us ...
Thx a lot

But what was the solution?????
I booted into BIOS and did what you have written and press restore defaults. Then i flashed again the efilinux and the restore bios. I had the same error and no reboot from the tablet! After waiting 10 minutes i decided to press the Power Button and bling there it is...
Now i have dual boot, but only Mireks Rom installed.
The next days i will try to install Windows, too.
I hope there are no problems again.
Thx for your help...
Alex
I flashed my M5C6 softbricked with the BIOS for C5J8 (2.05c) from the other post and it works now my tablet. The only problem I had me too is that the system doesn't reboot automatically after flashing process like @acnic so after 7 minutes I rebooted manually (with all my fingers crossed), finally the tablet has started like usual (I did the restore default settings into BIOS).
Now the only "problem" I had is that when I shutdown the system from Android or W10, I can't restart with power button so I need to press 10s before to can start the system again, Someone have an idea of this behaviour?
Many thanks again for your incredible work and support!!
Santi

How did you bricked?
While the restoring happened, did you see messages on the screen as I posted in my thread?

Hello blackbile, I bricked using the flashing method from Techknight's. I have unbricked with your guide (BIOS from C5J8)

Hi all,
My Teclast X98 has been working fine for 2 years, but no longer boots since last week (goes directly to the Aptio Setup Utility but the touchpad no longer responds so nothing is selectable). It was Android only, i.e. not dual boot, so I tried to flash the ROM with the newer "X98_Air_3G_4.4.4(C6Jx)_mirek190_v7" ROM using the newer flashing tool "Intel_Mfg_Tools_X98_Custom". I still had my SOC and Device VID/PID settings (SCO 8087/0A65, Dev 8087/0A5F) from my original flash 2 years ago (it was some italian Kitkat ROM, no longer available). Never made a backup (my bad )
Problem is, no matter what USB port I use, the flashing stops at 14%. My MFlash_Logs reports:
04/20/17 14:57:21.994 INFO : Port 0/1/2 #1: DNX/droidboot phase - SN : Baytrail0000354A
04/20/17 14:57:27.341 INFO : Port 0/1/2 #1: Booting to droidboot.img success - SN : Baytrail0000354A
04/20/17 15:00:24.668 ERROR : Port 0/1/2 #1: Device on port 0/1/2 #1 timeout to enum adb (TIMEOUT = 180)
On the Teclast, the display shows:
"Entering Dnx mode.
Waiting for fastboot command...EFILINUX [ 0.000000] ERROR [get_path:332] couldn't find boot device handle"
I am concerned that my X98 may be bricked but I'm not knowledgeable enough to make that final determination. Even entering the Dnx mode is not that easy as it goes first to the Aptio Setup Utility. I managed to go to the Dnx mode in a strange way, and it's reproducible:
First, vol+ & vol- & power ~ 10 s, until it goes to the setup utility (that's right, it doesn't go to dnx mode!)
Then, vol+ & power, which display "Quit without saving?" (but nothing is selectable)
Last, vol- & power, which finally enters the Dnx mode
If it is bricked, would flashing the EEPROM with a CH341A bring it back to life? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks ionioni!
OK, so my bricked X98 Air 3G is finally un-bricked!
Out of desperation and lack of response for the C6J6, I decided to flash the BIOS with ionioni "Unbrick BIOS-Softbrick on X98 Air 3G ID: C5J8 w/o EEPROM Flasher - by ionioni Ver2". While it warns that this method should be used only for C5J8, I decided to give it a try anyway with my C6J6. The flashing went fine but the rebooting at the end did not. After the flashing was completed (showing 100%), the X98 appeared to turn off but then got stuck on the battery-charging screen. After 10 minutes, I had no choice but to hard reboot. I was able to enter dnx mode normally and went on flashing the ROM with "X98_Air_3G_4.4.4(C6Jx)_mirek190_v7" and the Dirty Flash option. So far, everything seems to be working fine!
Thanks ionioni!
Hi guys, I get FAILED (remote: flash_cmds error!) whenever I try to boot or flash via fastboot.
So I need to replicate this procedure for my ASUS ME176C:
How do I find the binaries that I need? For example I can't find the ifwi binary.
Also, does anyone know where to get the DNX mode drivers? When in DNX mode the tablet appears as Baytrail under Other devices in device manager on Windows 11. In normal fastboot (Droidboot menu) or connected via adb it appears in device manager as ASUS Android Device.
when you type in fastboot devices, whats the output?
Did you try using the intel flash tool?
try to install these drivers, might help a bit

regardless of that, i think you should not be using the method mentioned in the video
