How to restore bookmarks in Android? - Android Themes

Hi guys!
I have a complicated problem. For some reason my LG G Flex2 started restarting and various other problems. In one restart it actually made system restore to some previous condition. So my contacts, settings, Chrome bookmarks and history disappeared. Unfortunately I had not been logged in Chrome so I can't retrieve the bookmarks through my account. Google account stores some activity but for now I don't see a way to retrieve my bookmarks and history from google servers. Does anyone has an idea what I can do to get my bookmarks? Are there some kind of restore points as in Windows and can I make a system restore to my previous state and get the bookmarks? Is it possible to restore Bookmakrs files or backup from the system drive somehow? I don't have root access at the moment. Any ideas would be helpful!
Thanx!

Uh oh, my contacts!

Hey all. I was trying to get my mac's address book app to sync with my google contacts and I accidentally erased all my google contacts, which then synced to my phone!
I have a Nandroid backup of my contacts however, but whenever I restore them, android re-syncs and deletes them. Taking a look at the SQL for the contacts, there appears to be a sync time and sync version number. Is there a way I can change this to make it re-sync from my phone to google contacts? If so, what do I have to change it to?
Thanks in advance.
I would nandroid restore to when you had all your contacts, make sure you don't let it sync (disable data/wifi). Make a backup of your contacts using MyBackup Pro, then let it sync, restore your contacts with MyBackup Pro (they'll save as phone contacts I believe instead of Google Contacts). Then sync again (uncheck the box and recheck it should get it to sync again) and it should re-upload all your contacts back to Google. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice. Since the restore I had was of a faulty build, I couldn't access the data settings fast enough before it started to sync, so I just took the contacts.db file and re-added my contacts manually.
So can you use AdressBook.app to edit your google contacts (do they sync with google's servers)?

[Q] How to restore joined contacts?

Hi all..
I've tried searching for answers to my question for ages and its a no-go so i'm posting it here.
So here's my problem. My contacts are synced on google (not phone or sim) and their names are not the same as in facebook. When I sign in to facebook, as usual we're given 3 choices:
- Sync All
- Sync with existing contacts
- Remove facebook data
If i choose the 2nd (sync with existing contacts), only a few gets synced as not all of my contact's names are the same on my phone and on facebook. So i choose Sync All, and then manually join the contacts.
I'm on Darky's 10.2, and on TiBu what system app should I backup the data so the contacts i joined manually are retained when I flash a new rom with a full wipe? If i just flash a new rom everything disappears even after i've signed in to google and synced all my contacts. All their pictures are gone.
BTW I dont use the samsung's built in SNS account and have even deleted them off my phone.
Should I backup the contacts application? I've been trying many things and all dont seem to work. I just dont know which system app data to backup.. Its a pain to rejoin each and every contact after every reflash (which I do a lot)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Titanium backup. It might be the greatest app for android. I have backed up with titanium then a full reset and full wipe flash then restore with titanium and it is as if nothing even happened. I have ran in to the issue with using a different Rom then the backup and restoring the system data can screw things up. So I just go into titanium and choose only my contacts, wifi and Bluetooth parings.

I know exactly what you're talking about, did you find a solution for that?

You've quoted a over year hold post, chances are that you won't be getting a answer from him eh.
Restoring a system app is ALWAYS a bad idea, so don't go for that option. I never looked for a option myself but there should be a way to manually backup your current contacts (with pictures and everything) to google.

[Q] best non-root backup?

So my phone died and is now miraculously working. So now I am backing everything up in case it happens again.
Here's the thing. Google sync never works perfectly for me and the HTC backup doesn't either.
I've tried MyBackup in the past but whenever I used it it would mess up the contacts. It backed them all up but upon restoring each entry of a contact (i.e. home phone, mobile home, notes, etc.) became a new contact with that name. So instead of having one Bob in my contact list I would have six bobs, one with the cell number, another with an email, and so on.
I was wondering what backup apps you guys could recommend that restore the contacts properly. I only care about the contacts. MyBackup works well with SMS and call logs so if need be I can use different apps for different backups and what I need now is a good contact solution.
Thanks
Helium from Clockworkmod. Its the best method of backup for non rooted users IMHO. https://www.clockworkmod.com/carbon
I have never experienced a problem restoring my Google account contacts, I take it you have removed the account and tried to set it up again to see if it will let you save the contacts. You can verify that they are saved if you log onto gmail when using a browser.

Thanks for the suggestion but trying out the free one it backs up apps but the people/contacts app doesn't show up in the list meaning it doesn't do what I need...

missing contacts

Any idea how to get back one of my contacts (there might be more) that just vanished the other day?
log on to contacts.google.com, from there you can restore previous versions of your contacts, make backup of current ones and export them too.
Ta. Will try that. Syncing my contacts didn't restore it.

Syncing doesn't restore contacts. It just sync it with Google servers and updates it as per changes on your phone.
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs
Still don't understand why it disapeard
The usual explanation for contacts vanishing usually is when user deletes a sync service like an Exchange/Office 365 account and one or a couple of contacts exist in this realm making you "lose" them when account is no longer in the phone. But if the contacts where Google contacts that vanished it does sound strange to me if the vanish without some app interfering with these contacts, maybe..
It was a Google contact so no. Have reimported him now.
You can try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vjayraj.deletedcontacts it worked for me in the situation that i deleted a contact then wanted to restore it

Migrating data from S Planner [S5] to Calendar on S10e

I am having no luck trying to migrate all of the data that is in S Planner on a S5 to a newly purchased S10e.
I have tried doing a full backup of the S5 with Samsung SmartSwitch, as well as only backing up the calendar, but when I do a restore on the S10e it is only seeing 9 items in the calendar backup, when there are actually hundreds of entries in the calendar.
The restore is being done by direct connection of the two phones via cable, not WiFi. It all seems to go as it should, but, as mentioned, all of the calendar events on the S5 are not being migrated.
I have scoured the web for possible solutions, but have found none, hence this post.
Surely it should not be this hard to migrate all of the calendar data from one phone to another.
Is there an alternative method, other than SmartSwitch, that I can use to migrate the data?
Am I missing something simple here?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Go to Calendar app info, in settigs, force stop it, the clear it's data & cache, then migrate it's data from smart switch, don't open the app,
Reboot, and see if it's all there.
SOLVED
Thanks for the response @Mohamedkam000, but I solved the problem myself using a 3rd party PC application.
The problem, as I see it, was that all of the calendar entries, bar 9, were saved to the PC Sync calendar database, which SmartSwitch did not recognize or backup. Who knew???
I got a copy of Wondershare MobileTrans which found and backed up all of the calendar entries [2560 of them] from the old phone and successfully transferred them to the new phone.
Hopefully this solution will be helpful to someone else, who may find themselves in a similar predicament as me.
