Hello everyone, here is my problem with my Note 5 SM-N920W8. Since the last firmware update, n920w8vlu4bpj1, I have been having extreme battery drain in sleep mode. Going from 100 to 60-65% of battery 6 hours after. I have been reflashing with smart switch the firmware, did a factory reset, wipe cache and wipe data. Name it, I think I did it. I don't want 3rd party app, they are only band-aid. Could I try to downgrade to my former 6.0.1 firmware, n920w8vlu2bpe3 version wich I had excellent experience with and excellent battery life, loosing about 7% in 6 hours on sleep? Battery use is mostly Android OS for the battery drain. Thanks in advance for any advice

Hello everyone,
I use ezterry's GINGERBREAD-DS-Alpha-20110129-1 for 3 weeks now, and I'm very happy with it.
But since 5 days I have massive battery drain in stand-by. Over night my Battery is going form 100% to 8% in only 7 hours.
I cleared the battery-stats, try another battery, and i always reboot the phone after disconnecting it form my PC.
I did a full wipe with Super-Wipe and flashed the new version GINGERBREAD-DS-Alpha-20110208-1, but it does not help.
Is it possible that I have to reflash recovery / bootloader?
my logcat is attached.

Hey guys, i just wanted to know if anyone is getting this issue. After installing paranoid android V.03 im having this huge battery drain. Almost 10% battery loss every 40 minutes even with Mobile Data and WiFi off. I should say i've flashed this rom over a stock gb. There is no modifications and the kernel used is the same that comes with that rom.
look for BetterBatteryStats and CPU Spy, download it. Check in CPU spy if ur phone is going into deep sleep, If not, put it in airplane mode, reboot and turn airplane mode off, if still not going in Deep Sleep, open BetterBatteryStats check the wakelocks and come back here.
First day on v0.3 I had the same problem. But it was really interesting when I figured out why the battery drain was so fast.
Look at your battery status if there is any drops like 3-5% which was happened immediately in a second. If yes your system is rebooting sometimes and that makes your battery drained. I had 1 or 2 reboots every hour on the first day.
If you didnt wipe dalvik cache and wipe cache after flashing the update may be that is the problem.
i did wipe the device. I have not notice any reboots . I'll fully charge it and check the battery life again. I've notice a fast battery drain even when i'm using it to text only. Like it's 80% one moment and when i look back at it it's like 78% Out of nowhere ( and as i said no data or WiFi).
Edit: almost forgot to mention. Just checked the cpu spy app and it does go into deep sleep(it shows an 8hour record in that state).

If you flash a rom with less than full battery it will take a few days/restarts/charging cycles for the battery stats to reconfigure correctly. This is the case with all roms, stock or otherwise.
If it persists after that, better battery stats should help identify what program is swallowing all the juice.
PS. I'm on same rom and kernel and have excellent battery life so it should resolve itself after a couple of charges.

Well.. i've been using it as always, and still feeling like it's going down too fast. When i flashed the rom , i did it with full battery. Anyways, i'll keep using it for a few days more and see if it changes. i've installed betterbattery stats and CPUspy as you guys recommended, so i'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the replies, i'll let you know guys any changes :good:

ihave this problem with this rom battery drain
WTF ??!!!
Recently my Z battery began to drain extremely quick even while the screen was off with wifi/mobile data disabled.
In battery usage, Android OS is draining 57~69% of the battery, while Screen is only 2%. (?)
This started to happen when I was on 4.4.4 Stock NCB, flashed into 5.1.1 lollipop, after some hours of usage it started to quickly drain battery again, but this time instead of Android OS, Media process was consuming 60%. The phone is running without microSD.
I already full wiped it and hard reset, using 4.4.2 kiktkat stock now, after some hours of usage again, same ****. Android OS draining the whole battery...
Also calibrated the battery..no results..
Does someone know whats going on? Thanks!

Android System on Z @ 5.11 drains about 15-20% of the battery which is too much. I should reflash the rom and wipe everything but I'm too lazy. It's related to the included packages like MHL, Bravia engine, location, etc. maybe someone will find what component is draining the battery, if I have time I'll compare in detail with the Z3 which uses about 5-6% battery on android system
One week ago I updated (using smartswitch) my Note 5 SM-N920C to android 6.0.1 Build number N920CXXU2BPBA
Since that I am suffering from a poor battery life especially when considering standby time
On lolllipop it was about 1% per hour but now it's like 7 to 8% per hour. Even sometimes I sleep with remaining battery 60% and wake up with an empty battery.
Yesterday I did a factory reset and wiped cache partition but that didn't help (With most bloatware disabled)
Remark : My knox counter is triggered (Rooted on lollipop before) but I don't think that's the problem because battery life was great on lollipop with a triggered knox counter
I would appreciate any help
Anyone having the same problem ?
If you have knox counter triggered on a N920C, you will suffer from deep sleep issue causing the drain.
Did you apply the fix or tried rooting?
I have the same firmware and the same if not worst battery drain in stand bye, even tho i have never rooted my note 5, i think its a firmware problem
The problem was fixed by applying Dr.Ketan deep sleep fix

For a few months I have noticed that the battery lasts much less. About 25-30% less capacity than when I bought it. It is the third Xiaomi that I have and the same thing has happened to me in all of them, After a year the battery drops alarmingly. Is there a way to calibrate or reset it? thanks.
Try disabling sync and location first, you should see some improvement.
Stock or custom ROM?
My rom is xiaomi.eu (last beta with Android 11)
