[TWRP][3.0.2][Unofficial] for Huawei P8 [GRA-L09] - Huawei P8 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Devel

TWRP 3.0.2
Huawei P8 GRA-L09
Fully working recovery, no encryption support.
"No touch at boot" bug is solved.
Battery percentage.
Compiled with stock B370 kernel
(encryption support is still a WIP)
Since I hope to get it "Official", I won't post the customized one here: have a look at @nexolight 's CM13 thread for that one.
No need to say you need an unlocked bootloader.
There's a lot of good guides on how to flash a recovery so I won't repeat here

anyone could help here?
It was my fault: didn't had the phone for a couple of months and now wanted to update to the latest version of TWRP, ROM and didn't read the threads completely . First time that I'm so stupid.
Bootloader is unlocked, think I have the old bootloader. Had TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed and working. Flashed a 6.0 ROM and ended with bootloop...OK related to the old TWRP. So flashed within 2.8.7 the TWRP 3.0.2 ...
now it is only showing Huawei boot logo....neither fastboot nor TWRP is working anymore with (Vol+ & Power button). It just simply is showing the Huawei logo for some seconds and then restarting.
Any chance to unbrick it?

I'm not expert but if you can't get even into bootloader I think your phone is done.

Try booting with Vol- pressed while connected to PC

Even with Holding VOl- by connecting the PC the phone simply restarts to the Huawei logo and then restarts...

Is there still that bug where I'd have to wait for the screen to go off?
Or what does no touch at boot mean?

No, there isn't. The "notouchatboot" bug is solved..

Did you flashed a new kernel? Kept vol+ button pressed while booting into recovery?

Ive loaded only new twrp. a week was ok and now I have to wait until the phone is in sleep recovery and then running touch

Sounds strange... I am using it with no issues.
Did you tried flashing twrp again?
Btw I am gonna upload a new build (just removes some unneeded stuff).

Not working for me either. No touch at boot at all but when the screen goes off, I can use it again! Just flashed today.

Custom kernel?
Did you had a bugged twrp installed before flashing?
Did you keep Vol + pressed until splash screen at first recovery boot after flashing?
Thank you

I just updated to b382 with normal OTA. (I flashed the stock recovery as I previously had the older TWRP installed.)
I have never flashed custom kernels on this device.
The earlier TWRP (I quess 2.8, new_twrp) was working normally
Let me know if you need more info!

I have the very same version installed and no touch bug. The recovery is compiled with proper options to avoid it.
I am gonna upload a new build asap. I'll pm you to test it, can I?

Is it possible to use this TWRP to install original Huawei ROMs?

[TWRP][EXPERIMENTAL] suzuran twrp 3.0

Hello people,
I was able to successfully build twrp 3.0 for suzuran (our device, duh!) and thought I'd share the recovery.img so you can test and see what works and what doesn't.
The recovery was built in a CM13 similar environment (PAC), so there might be some issues when working with stock kernel.
Since this is an experimental build (I tested main functionalities and they work, but didn't get down to the nitty-gritty), here's a small disclaimer:
By flashing or booting the attached recovery you're risking damaging you device, or losing the data on your device!
Neither I nor anyone else but YOU is responsible should any bad unintended problems appear!
If you're feeling adventurous then feel free to flash the recovery.img (along with Androplus kernel) and try the sweetness that is TWRP 3.0 :good:
Download link:

Known issues:
Temperature reading is botched
Crypto might not be working, like AT ALL
usb connection doesn't work (only if you use this recovery with Androplus kernel)
There could be more problems, which is why this is EXPERIMENTAL for now
And now let's get to the sources!
kernel:

And now to thank the people who helped in this endeavor:
TWRP team for the awesome recovery!
@nilezon for the TWRP flags (which I still need to go through to check if I missed/need anything, especially crypto flags...)
FXP team for device sources, Especially @adfad666

this is really weird, did the MM update also change something in the bootloader in an inconvenient way?
Could you try the other recovery.img from nilezon's thread? If that boots using "fastboot boot recovery.img" then we'll know the problem is somewhere in the .img itself
EDIT: oh, also could you please check if your download wasn't corrupt? Here's the md5 hash of the file so you can check

I have no idea.
Z5C_TWRP_152_v2_nilezon doesn't work on MM.
I flash Android 5.1 and try your TWRP3.0, still stuck at SONY logo(with no LED light).
Z5C_TWRP_152_v2_nilezon can work on 5.1.
Now I'm flashing MM again.

Thanks! Guess the issue lies in the MM update somewhere.
You just said that nilezon's recovery works on 5.1, but did you try it after flashing 5.1, or are you basing that statement on previous tests?
The issue here might be that you didn't downgrade the bootloader when you flashed 5.1 again, which would mean the issue will persist.
Hello,
I tried booting(didn't flash) with MM and it seemed to boot into recovery fine. Used it to do a cache wipe, but afterwards phone is stuck on boot screen. I can turn it off with power + volume, but it doesn't seem like I can go back to fast boot.

nope, not your problem, it's everyone's
seems like my twrp version just refuses to boot sometimes.
Was able to successfully replicate the fastboot issue on 5.1 bootloader, so it's definitely this recovery.
Now the question is if it's a TWRP 3 issue, or just in the way I built it
EDIT: I guess this post answers my question
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65808636&postcount=137
another twrp 3 recovery is having the same issue
guess I'll have to make this recovery flashable in order for it to work properly
EDIT 2: wow, Androplus kernel seems to go well with TWRP 3. Updated first post with new instructions on how to use this.

If you are getting a black screen after flashing the kernel, just force restart the device. Then the device will boot fine.
Could a version of this be build with the device name "scorpion"? It won't let me install this ROM since the device name doesn't match (it seems to be empty in this image whereas that ROM requires it to be "scorpion").
Edit: nevermind, figured out I can modify the script in side the ROM to remove the check instead.
Thanks for a working TWRP for my old tablet

SGP612 boot.img
Hi,
I made a boot.img for the SGP612 [6.0.1] [23.5.A.1.291] unlocked BL.
Sony RIC disabled
TWRP 3.0.2
(DRM fix)
Root and Xposed is NOT included. I recommend flashing Magisk v12 later in TWRP and enable Magisk Core Only Mode and Magisk Hide in the settings. Then it will pass the SafetyNet test and you can use su.
To flash the boot.img, put your SGP612 into fastboot mode (Volume Up + connect USB) and then run:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If you have a backup of your TA partition, before you unlocked, see the rootkernel thread by tobias.waldvogel, how the DRM fix works.
Thanks to codfx for give me the idea for a SGP612 counterpart and to tobias.waldvogel for his tool :good:

OnePlus 3T Recovery Loop

Hello lovely XDA-members,
this morning a new OTA update/patch came out for my OnePlus 3T, so I downloaded and tryed to install it right away. My phone is rooted on android 7.0 and I have TWRP 3.0.3-0 installed as my recovery. Normally (when I updated to nougat) after downloading a new update the phone reboots itself into TWRP and installs the update by itself, but not this time. I had to seqrch through my phone and had to install thw update manually. After that I rebooted the phone and it started booting the TWRP recovery again, I tried it again and again and again, nothint changed. So I tried to restore my backup with everything functioning, but this wouldnt help either. :/ I read the few existing threads with this problem and heard of a recovery flag that isnt cleared and the bootloader being the problem. One solution that I found was only for an LG phone and I'm afraid that I'll brick my brand new phone I have absolutely no idea what to do now, I would be so happy if someone could help me with this :$
I thank you in advance <3
Encoutered the same problem. Either you reflash the official or twrp recovery (neither did the trick to me) or use this "emergency tool" (which helped me):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/unbrick-guide-oneplus-3t.481214/
Btw: TWRP 3.0.3-0 is not working well, switch to 3.0.3-1 beta
Good luck to you
I had the same problem.
How you can ''unbrick it'':
1. Flash a any rom available for the oneplus 3t via twrp
a. after this you will be still in twrp bootloop, to solve this go to step 2
2. Flash back stock recovery via twrp
Now your system will boot again
Optional: Flash back twrp
Just flash stock recovery via adb and you're done. It will fix the problem, you won't lose any data

No problemos my friendos

Oneplus 3T + ResurrectionRemix.

Hi guys!
Hopefully you can assist with my issue. It's the first time i'm having these complications with a device.
So i flashed TWRP (Which worked fine) And then flashed RR from within TWRP (The first install.)
If i have to enter TWRP after a full setup it's going to end up differently.
When i try going into TWRP the next time (Mainly for updates.) My device kinda softbricks?
I just get a black screen with nothing on it after the TWRP splash screen.
*shrugs* i think, and reboot my device, BUT! My rom will now start to setup again, but with a lot of com.android. errors.
This leads me to the only solution of reflashing TWRP + Getting the new RR Update = And starting the process all over again.
At this point i'm pretty frustrated with having to set it all back up every time i glance an update.
What could be wrong? Did i do this correctly?
THANKS!

Hope it stick because some of us got troubles and were forced to reflash with miflash in order to recover.
Thanks, I was worried that 1227 would introduce more problems instead of solving them but I took the risk and it paid off. I can boot into the recovery after flashing it. One more question if you don't mind, can I directly flash the new updated rom without wiping so as to not lose any data. It won't cause any problems right?

Thanks, I was worried that 1227 would introduce more problems instead of solving them but I took the risk and it paid off. I can boot into the recovery after flashing it. No problem to weekly flash EU- DEV rom in dirty mode from direct download. (I systematically reject the OTA update because it often fails.)
And If a risk exist or any request for clean install, it will be notified at download page.
