I'm *sure* I saw this before since I used to have it before I flashed, but can't find it no matter how I search...
How do I wake up the phone not only by pressing the power button, but also by scrolling the, erm, scroll wheel?
I know it must be dead simple, but...

Hi, since double tap to wake works like a charm but its frustrating me about turning screen off, we still need to use that power on button which has bad feeling in comparison of older xperia
Nova launcher has a double tap system for screen off
Anyone has an app/mod that allows a double tap/simple tap to put screen off?

if you are not rooted and don't mind having an icon on the homescreen try this here on the play store JB Lock Now
if you are rooted you can try this xposed module http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-doubletaptosleep-v1-0-t2667177]

You don't need icons for the 2 I mentioned. They work as shortcuts with Nova gestures, 1tap, 2tap or whatever you prefer. Just give them a try.
i use greenify in combination with nova gestures

i use greenify hibernation shortcut ..... which is swype upward from home button to see "whats new" and "google search" .... swype towards "google search" and select "hibernate + lock screen" (always).
this is best according to me .... cause u dnt need to be on home screen always .... it can be done from any screen !!
obviously u need greenify installed

Xperia Xposed (KK) >> Xperia Home >> Desktop >> Double Tap Gesture >> Lock Screen
It does work with stock home launcher only!
Not too sure if it works on the Z3, but on my HTC i have installed a app called all in one gestures, which allows me to double tap the top notification bar, and the screen knocks itself off.
I am sure you can customize it the way you want it, hopefully it will work on the Z3, as i have just bought one myself.

Gravity Box has this option. I have it on long press of recent apps. Makes it available from everywhere. You could also use Greenify's screen off through Gravity Box and assign it to a long press or create an extra navigation item and have it there; tap, double tap, long press.
No root method
I am using a clear home screen widget from this app. Just add to homescreen and resize.

is there anyway to make greenify shortcut to work on lockscreen of lollipop, either by replacing camera icon or phone icon, ?
just use gravity screen. it saves me the use of any buttons and no xposed is required.
This new feature on 6.0.1 does not work on my phone, despite several restarts, safe mode activation, etc. Will not do software repair for now- too much hassle.
Am I the only user who has this problem? Seemed like a nice idea: after double tap to wake, now double tap to sleep!

Are you using the Home launcher?
This was a Concept feature, I'm not sure if it was in the full release. But, if it did, you need to double-tap on an empty area of the homescreen in Home.
I am sure it's a final release feature: the option to toggle it on or off appeared in my home screen settings menu after downloading 6.0.1.
And yes, I know how to activate it: double tap empty space on home screen.
Any Z3 Compact owner reading this whose double tap to sleep works?

Just figured it out: while in "tap to wake" I can use many different intervals (i.e. time between the two taps) to activate the function, "tap to sleep" will only accept a precise interval to work: if I double tap just 50 milliseconds too fast or too slow, it will not work.

Well, I suppose that makes sense. Must be frustrating to get that timing right, though..
HI, you need to long press on your home screen and then you get it selected with everything what's there. When you see this that you an remove or add items to your home screen there will be either a setting icon or a plus icon on the bottom that you need to click on. This will show a menu where if you scroll down will give you the option to activate "double tap to sleep" feature. Sony could have put the double tap to wake up and sleep mode in one place ……

Hi I try it ....appear switch double tap I activate it but not work...I tap two times on the screen but nothing happen..
Not exactly what OP is requesting, but I find "Gravity Screen" app a pretty good alternative to ease the process of locking and unlocking the phone.
I want to know too....

That's double tap to switch screen off. Double tap to wake is the opposite. I miss it too it's so much easier. Or wave to wake too..

I am sorry if this has been posted before or it's something obvious, this is my first post but I've searched through what is seemingly like the entire internet to find the answer but haven't come close.
I've recently upgraded to the ROG Phone 3, and noticed that I cannot find/set a function for a double tap of the power button. Every phone I've ever had, I've had the power button as a quick launch for my camera. Is this feature really missing, or am I a bit slow in the noggin?
