Wiping Dalvik Cache? Should I worry?

I am curious what information I lose if I wipe Dalvik cache? Will this disrupt my settings or apps? From what I understand, there is a potential performance gain if you do this? Pros?... Cons?
I think you'll lose all your settings.

You don't loose any settings. All it does is a refresh of the system. I would recommend doing it any time you start having FC's or lag. You do have to reboot after doing it

Factory reset questions

Just have a couple of Questions about doing a factory reset.
I flashed european jpo using kies and have not done a factory reset because all of my region settings and carrier settings and market access remained intact from eclair (amazing I know what were the chances).
So having now backed everything up using titanium backup I am keen to do a factory reset because I have some forced closes in the browser and it took a loooong time to settle down after I upgraded.
Will I keep all my settings with a factory reset? Apn's etc?
What settings are recommended for both factory reset and restore, so far I get to NOT restore system apps.
Also what exactly is a 'hard reset'?
Finally should I even bother my phone runs well, just my battery life is a bit crap and browser crashes a bit

In my opinion, now that you have backed up your stuff, I would reflash JPO and tick re-partition. This will wipe everything back to factory and start you off on a clean slate. That way you will know whether your FCs are due to a bug in the firmware, rom or APK.
Thank you for your help, phone is pretty damn stable now I deleted a couple of apps I suspected and fc's have stopped

Have any different between Factory Reset and Wipe from Recovery Menu ?

T9 not working on stock dialer .136

I used Nut's method of updating to .136 and discovered the stock dialer does not use T9 for contact search anymore. For example if I wish to call Jason, I would type 52766 and a list of my contacts with the name Jason would be shortlisted. This does not happen anymore. Is there a way to fix this other than using a 3rd party dialer?
Did you try a factory reset after update, sometime this clean the phone after update.

Factory reset AFTER update? Oh, I didn't do that. What I did was before flashing .136, I cleaned out all the cache and internal storage then did a factory reset.
Ok how do I do a factory reset in TWRP? I can't find that option.

It's working! Just have to go through hours of customising the preferences of my apps again. I'll have to keep testing the phone function after each app install to pinpoint the one that breaks it.

No. The whole point of a factory reset is to wipe your device clean. Without backup, your data is lost.

7.0 to 6.0

Can I downgrade my device(xiao mi3) from 7.0-Lineage OS to CM-13?and without losing any data, can???and how???
You can try but you will have some issues if you keep your data. I think you'll need to wipe. You dont need to wipe the internal, but the data and those stuffs
